Kim Cattrall loves London buses. The actress snubs expensive taxis for cheap public transport because she believes it is the quickest way to get around Britain's busy capital city. She said: "I take the buses because it's the fastest way to get around London." The Liverpool-born actress has even gotten used to fans taking pictures of her on their mobile phones when she travels by bus. Kim added: "For the first couple of weeks people would see me and pretend they were texting someone but I could tell they were taking a picture." Perhaps they are worried about a 'Samantha' backlash.

Russell Crowe and Anthony LaPaglia are setting their sights on building a 25,000-seater Sydney sports stadium to house their soccer and rugby sides. LaPaglia is a director and shareholder in soccer team Sydney FC while Crowe is co-owner of the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the National Rugby League. LaPaglia says, "He wants a stadium, I want a stadium and we think together there is a possibility we might be able to pull it off. I would say if we could get the right people in the room at the same time, it is something that could happen in two to three years." Sounds like a good business plan.

Somebody told me... Brandon Flowers is set to be a dad, with his wife Tana expecting their first child. A rep for the band revealed that the baby, rumoured to be a boy, is due in July. Brandon says: "It's a boy. I'm so excited." The couple have been married for almost two years, tying the knot in a ceremony on a Honolulu beach. The two dated for four years before getting married, having grown up in Las Vegas together, where they were high school sweethearts. Congrats to them.

Rod Stewart has confirmed he's set to marry fiancee Penny Lancaster later this month. Rod confirmed the date at Saturday’s Raisa Gorbachev Foundation dinner at Hampton Court Palace when he called out to friend Elton John: "My wedding is in two weeks. Start looking for the gift!" Elton joked that Rod was a "greedy b*****d" but added: "Don’t worry, I’ll find something nice for you!" A grand affair coming soon.

A new project for Mischa Barton requires her to brush up on her Russian in preparation for a starring role in the forthcoming Tatu movie. The film, which also stars the Tatu girls as themselves, is about two girls, Janie Sawyer (an American girl, living in Moscow) and Lana (a Russian native), who become obsessed with Tatu. They become best friends, with crushes on each other, and attend a Tatu concert. While in Moscow, Janie develops a drug problem. Mischa seems to be taking the role seriously, to the extent that she's attempting to teach herself Russian. She says, "Any spare time I get, I put a Russian CD on. All I need to do is get a Russian accent but I'm fascinated by Russia." Mischa will flying to St Petersburg this month to film "Finding t.A.T.u", due for an October release.

Royal flirting moves? Prince William uses his "wing man" to make the first contact with girls, so he can judge if they are pretty enough to talk to. The prince has a unique pulling technique when partying in London with best friend Guy Pelly. A source told The Mail on Sunday: "When William and Guy go to Boujis or Mahiki, they will do laps around the club looking for gorgeous girls. If William sees a girl he likes, they will approach and Guy will tap her on the shoulder so that she turns round and William can get a look of her face. They look her up and down and William makes his mind up whether to talk to her or not. If the girl is successful, she will be brought over to their table and if not, the boys just walk off."

Paris Hilton's jail term may have been halved but it will feel twice as long - because she'll be locked up with her creepily obsessed No 1 fan. Her new roomie is Kelly Matthew and if there was a degree in Paris she would pass with flying colours and the odd restraining order. An insider said: "It turns out Kelly is obsessed with Paris's Simple Life TV show and greedily devours any magazines or newspapers with gossip about her favourite heiress." Right after the 2007 MTV Movie Awards, Paris turned herself in to Sheriff's authorities that same night. {Links - 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5} On Monday, her lawyer said she is coping as well as possible with an "unjust, unfair" sentence alone in a tiny cell 23 hours a day after visiting the heiress. A total of ten songs claimed to be from Kylie's upcoming album have appeared on the web. Five songs were available to download last week and now five more have been uploaded on to file-sharing sites. An insider said, "It's a new marketing ploy that record companies are using to get exposure." But the singer dismissed claims that she deliberately leaked new songs onto the internet as a publicity stunt. A spokesman insisted: "There would be no point songs being released onto the net this far ahead of the release." Her upcoming album is due for release before the end of the year. Let's just wait patiently till then.

Jarvis Cocker has hit out at TV talent shows - saying that they prove that pop music has turned into an "industrial process." He said that shows like X Factor and Pop Idol never pick people with "great voices." The Pulp man said, "They pick people who show off how many notes they can fit into a 10-second period. A great voice expresses something and gives you some idea of the personality behind the voice. There's zero personality in the voices of any of the people who sing on these shows." Speaking to the Radio Times, the singer added, "The pop charts used to be where everything happened. Now the most interesting stuff is happening outside in the independent music sector."
