China Heart

Courtney Love is performing Buddhist chants to decide what to do with the money raised from auctioning her late husband's belongings. She is trying to decide whether to hold a private sale or an auction, and whether to use the proceeds to establish a foundation. She writes on her website: "I chanted two hours tonight and really thought about where the money should go." Love wants to "do good works with the proceeds, works that would create artists and promote them to stop bullying, to deal with self-destructive fantasies and suicidal ideation at a young age." K.C would be proud of that. But where's the new romance?

Robbie Williams is set to quit L.A to live with his best friend, Jonathan Wilkes, in UK. A source said: "Robbie is coming home to be close to the people who love him. He wants to have fun with his friends and concentrate on getting rid of his demons." Wilkes has been viewing several properties in Chiswick, West London. Robbie is reportedly desperate to return to his homeland and "play as much soccer as possible" with friends. A source added: "Some of the best days were back when he lived with Jonathan in their bachelor pad. He is looking forward to a life of golf and soccer for a while and being with his mates and family." Maybe he could also have a game with Pete?

Noel Gallagher has ended his verbal attack on the Scissor Sisters after meeting singer Ana Matronic. He once hit out at the S/S music earlier in the year, calling it music for "squares", but a meeting with Matronic at the Brits changed his opinion of the group. "We share the same security company, so when I heard they were hanging out backstage I marched straight up to Noel, pinched him on the cheek and gave him a big hug," Matronic explained. "If someone says something bad about Scissor Sisters I don't engage them in an argument but try to kill them with kindness and make them love me. Noel referred to me as a 'top bird' to a mutual acquaintance. He was very nice, as was Liam." Nice to finally see some bro/sis love between them.

Kate Middleton may not be a royal in waiting any longer, but she's quickly developing a reputation as a princess - of partying. The 25-year-old has been a regular at her favourite London night spots since her split from Prince William, but that's not her only new habit - she appears to have taken up smoking.. Kylie Minogue is turning to veteran jazz artist Blossom Dearie for inspiration for her new album. She has been working on new tracks and was looking to the jazz star for new ideas. She says, "I went to see Blossom Dearie today. She inspired some of the tracks on my last album. "I'm working on a new one now, and after Cannes I'm going to Stockholm to do some recording." A new twist should be interesting.

Donald Trump is not fired from NBC.. he quits! Trump man has decided to quit The Apprentice in protest to the hit reality TV show being dropped from the primetime schedules. He was "moving on" from the show in favour of a "major new TV venture" after NBC announced The Apprentice had not been included in a primetime slot. The show has struggled to match the 21 million viewing figures it chalked up during it's first series. If he had only gathered more powerful candidates for the show, this would not have been a problem. Having Nicole & Frank in the final four was a joke.

Do rappers nowadays need to tone down their language? 50 Cent don't think so. He has slammed critics who petition hip-hop stars to limit their language; insisting that most artists do not use expletives for the sake of it, and is annoyed by those who believe swearing is unnecessary. "Music is a mirror, and hip-hop is a reflection of the environment that we grew up in," he argued. "It's the harsh realities that end up in the music. I'm sure some conservative Americans can't identify with it because of their lifestyle and they haven't been exposed to those realities." This is music from the hood.

While the Cheryl vs Lily saga is still ongoing, there is another girlie feud happening in New York.. Avril and Hilary Duff created some definite tension on the red carpet at the Maxim 100 party at the Hotel Gansevoort in New York City. The pair deliberately scheduled their arrival times to avoid each other. However, by coincidence the two arrived at almost identical times, leading to mutual unhappiness. A handler complained that "Avril is threatening to take off" and "driving everyone crazy" after she and Duff "unfortunately arrived at the same time." No catfights? Not too sure what this feud's about.

Images that show how fingerprints can be used to reveal whether you are a smoker, an avid coffee drinker, or even a hard drug user, have been revealed by UK scientists. They were produced using a novel forensic technique that could in future be used on fingerprints collected at a crime scene. If the prints in question are not on file, this would still give police a powerful way to shrink their pool of suspects, by identifying their lifestyle habits. It exploits the fact that the breakdown products - metabolites - of substances people consume are deposited in sweat found in pores in their fingerprint ridges. To detect these metabolites they use gold nanoparticles. Besides extending the test to antibodies capable of detecting alcohol and illicit drugs, the technique could be used to detect performance-enhancing drug use in sport.
