Autumn Shade

50 Cent will follow up his autobiography with a new project - writing books for children. Fiddy wants to use his past experience of living in the hood to teach children lessons about life. Days after Noel G complained about the little ones taking over parents' lives, 50 now wants to be a role model? Maybe he has been listening to Aunt Madon's dancefloor records and got an inspiration from her contribution in writing a children's book. He says: "The stories will have a positive message, something that kids can learn from." Well, I reckon the book has to go through several rounds of approval from the Children Associations before it can be placed in the 'Kids' section.

Ronan Keating is working on developing an acting career for himself. "I was all set to start a film with Vinnie Jones and Anna Friel, but it's been put back now, so I took the opportunity to learn how to act and I'm loving it," Keating explained. "I hope you can see all the work up there on screen very soon." Working on a new album and being in a movie. No wonder he doesn't want to be part of the Boyzone reunion.

Scarlett Johansson and Richard Archer living for the weekends? There were some whispers about the actress and Hard-Fi frontman being romantically linked while filming in the UK. Despite publicly stepping out with Josh Harnett in the past few months, Johansson has been in close contact with the cult musician. The pair met in December (05) when Archer sent Johansson a personal invite to a London gig - knowing she was in the British capital filming 'Scoop'. Since her return to America, the couple have enjoyed lengthy phone calls and are already planning to meet up again when Hard-Fi play in Los Angeles. The band's spokesperson confirms, "Let's just say that Richard and Scarlett are very close at the moment. He has always fancied her and asked one of his managers to invite her to a gig. He knew she was in London so he thought, why not? The band are now touring Los Angeles. I am sure Richard will meet Scarlett there if there's time." Stars of CCTV eh?

Kate Moss is planning to move to the US permanently. She has enrolled her daughter into a Los Angeles nursery [ 1 2 ] and told friends that she wants to buy a home in Malibu. A pal said, "Kate is determined to make the move. She told me, 'I want a lifestyle where I'm not the only focus of attention, as I seem to be in England.'" Moss has asked her British nanny to stay on in Los Angeles with her and continue caring for three-year-old Lila Grace. Following the Robbie Williams route is the way to go.

Arctic Monkeys in Glasgow gig review.
"Unlike virtually all of the postpunk bands that have transfixed Britain over the last few years, from the Strokes to the Libertines to Franz Ferdinand to the White Stripes, the Arctic Monkeys don't obsess over rock 'n' roll history, and they aren't nostalgic for an earlier musical era. They have borrowed from all those bands, but they have also done what era-defining bands are supposed to do: they have made all their predecessors seem - and sound - old."

Mexican Policeman Attacked By A Flying Humanoid Entity article. And there are no medical signs that he is insane or lying. Spooky.

22-20s have called it a day. The split was said to be amicable and mutual. Martin Trimble of the band is said to be working on new material. Not really into them but it's a shame that another decent band is gone while some rubbish called ClickFive is dominating the charts. Not good.

Fellow Sheffield lad Jarvis Cocker has heaped praise on the Arctic Monkeys. The 'Different Class' Pulp frontman loves the way the Monkeys have achieved phenomenal success without trying and believes the foursome have got what it takes to rise above the hype. In fact he sees Arctic Monkeys' success as a triumph over the pop industry that pumps millions into their acts to make them big. Cocker explains: "I think it's very important because they've done it without trying. The only reason people have got into it (the music) is because they've listened to it and they like it, so it's something real. I guess all the music industry will probably think 'how can we emulate that or what can we do?'
"I think there's nothing they can do about it because it's something that has happened naturally, there's no way to apply spin doctorism to it." Yeah. He's right. Just don't tell these boys to adopt his 'Dancing Shoes' stage attires from the 80s. That will make them look worse than Mardy Bums.

Relight my fire in Las Vegas? Take That have decided to base their reunion tour on a Las Vegas stage extravaganza. The boys visited the city for five days earlier this month in an effort to bond as a group before they perform together again. A source revealed: "They flew to Vegas as a unifying exercise as well as to get ideas for their Ultimate Tour. It's going to have a really glitzy, bright lights big city feel to it and they wanted to soak up the feel of a real Vegas extravaganza. Don't forget it's been ten years since they last had to rely on each other in a performance environment and that takes a lot of trust. The trip out there was about getting to know each other again as much as anything else." Not good if they ever met up with Mr Brightside ala B.Flowers. Don't want to see them getting all big-headed and start wanting to save the world, etc..

AT&T Commercial playing Oasis track 'All Around The World'! Its a mega commercial. I like it a lot, even if Oasis wasn't in it. Gets the point across nicely...

Oasis Stockholm gig review
-----------------------------------------------------
Translation from City Stockholm newspaper 2006.01.27:

Quote:
Oasis - an arrogant power of nature
... and the GA-audience gives back love to the band
Liam shakes a tambourine. Liam saunters back and forth with a monkeywalk, directly inherited from Ian Brown from Stone Roses (perfect).
Liam dedicates "Lyla" to the Soundtrack of Our Lives.

Nothing new under the sun
Nothing is really new under the sun in Oasis-land. Everybody knows that their rock-ideological manifestation was carved in stone sometime 1994. Liam's voice is stil unbelievably powerful, just as unstoppable as compulsively arrogant power of nature. Even if the bigger part of the well-dressed beerintoxicated audience wanted to experience the memories of their first, or in some cases last, real euphoric rock'n'roll momentit wasn't difficult to fall.
At least sometimes. In spite of the latest records, in spite of some of some rays of lightand constang nagging of "finding the magic again" almost totally given in to squalid grinding stoner rock. Cause when the band pounds with "Cigarettes and alcohol" (... has never been more obvious) or the epical exchanging singing is still rightly bloody brilliant.

A nice nice treatment
Even one of the worlds most hackneyed songs, "Wonderwall", gets a very nice treatment.
A lot can be credited to the ga-audience's intensive love, it never ended.

phat:
Liam Gallagher's hard-core consequence. He not only believes, but knows that he is the best rocksinger in the world. Sometimes you agree.

His new album - Keys To The World, is class. Something that I would have wanted to hear on Starsailor's third album On The Outside which is a little let down i feel. On first listen, 80% of KTTW impressed. This guy is certainly not past his prime that's for sure. Always good to stay away Jules & Turner's vocals once in a while after some dozen CD repetitions...

Lindsay Lohan might want to keep a closer eye on her belongings. After losing 400,000 pounds worth of diamonds in a cab last week, Lohan now lost her diary on a boozy night out. It was recovered, but some pages with details about her love life and family had been ripped out. Some wide-eyed people must be reading with joy about the confessions of this teenage drama queen.

Elizabeth Hurley has sparked reports she is pregnant with her second child after she was spotted leaving an antenatal clinic. She was seen leaving the clinic in London's prestigious Harley Street. When asked if she was expecting, Hurley's agents replied, "No comment." Hurley is already mother to son Damian Charles, whose dad is Hollywood producer Steve Bing. Hmmm, something fishy going on there.

I'm So High

Paris escapes death?
Paris Hilton almost "came a cropper" while partying with the TAO posse at Sundance! First Paris entertained crowds in the TAO outpost by grinding on a speaker to the rhythms -- but she wound up in the nearby 'W' Lounge, where Vegas nightclub queen Xenia Woodman reported: "She gave everyone a scare when she nearly fell over the two story balcony." Others said it was so dangerous that if Paris hadn't been pulled back a split second, she would have fallen 25 ft to the hard ice-and-packed snow ground below. Paris has proved with her antics here that you just never know what the wild child will do next. She is officially relocating to that desert kingdom, buying a condo at the new W Hotel complex. Wild woman indeed.

After being told of the news about him and J.Blunt being lined up to duet at the Brit Awards, Paul Weller had some nice words to say: "I'd rather eat my own s**t than duet with James Blunt." Hail to the veteran modster!

Finally! A new BOND girl has been chosen! Thandie Newton has been confirmed as the female lead in the new Bond film Casino Royale which is slated to begin filming in the Caribbean next week. Thandie was last seen in the critically acclaimed race driven film Crash and has played Tom Cruise's love interest in Mission: Impossible 2.

Jessica Simpson won't stop pestering Nick Lachey, calling him at least once a day. A source told STAR mag, "She's the one that wanted the divorce in the first place and now that Nick's finally getting on with his life, she won't leave him alone." Meanwhile, Nick doesn't seem to share her regrets. "He's not having nearly as hard a time as Jessica, and that tortures her as well." the source said.

That mystery man Jessica Simpson reportedly spent the night with at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood was Adam Levine. "She was picked up by her best friend, Cacee Cobb, that morning," an onlooker revealed. Spending some time with Adam is torture, eh?

Charlize Theron isn't expecting to caress another golden statuette. In Melbourne for the premiere of her latest film, Theron insisted she wasn't banking on another nomination on Tuesday. "I hope nobody's expecting it, because I'm not expecting anything," she said of her Academy Award chances. "That wouldn't be good. It's always an honour, but you can't do the work and do it for that reason," she said. In North Country, which is based on a true story, she plays an American single mother who launches a pioneering class action lawsuit for sexual harassment.

Kate Moss took refuge in a Paris police station this week to escape a fleet of paparazzi chasing her car. About a dozen photographers on scooters and in cars followed Moss' Mercedes as she left the Ritz Hotel. A friend, Jean-Yves le Fur, was driving the car. Moss and le Fur stayed in the police station in western Paris for about five minutes. Police blocked off the photographers so the two could leave safely. No complaint was filed. Now this sounds like a scene where some bad boys are chasing a detective who escaped from their clutches..

Delta Goodrem wants to have children with her Irish squeeze Brian McFadden. Wow. At an old age of 21, she is desperate to cement her relationship with the ex-Westlife singer with a brood of kids. Goodrem was quoted as saying: "I'll never be truly close to Brian until we have children, and I'm getting really broody. I want to bring up our kids in Australia and Brian has agreed it's the right thing to do." The couple are currently living in America where Goodrem is working on her music career while McFadden is...well, probably lazing around... McFadden already has two children from his relationship with his ex-wife Kerry Katona. Maybe she's afraid that the flop singer may ditch her? Poor taste.

The Zutons will return this spring with a new album and single in April they have confirmed. The Liverpudlian five piece will release the album "Tired Of Hangin' Around" on April 17 preceding it with the single Why Won't You Give Me Your Love? on April 3. B-sides for the single include Are We Friends Or Lovers, I Want You, Love's Little Lies and What's My Heart For?. The album was recorded at Townhouse and Olympic Studios alongside producer Stephen Street. Can't wait for more liverpudlian groovy tunes from this fantastic band.

Dannii Minogue is to return to acting, signing a deal to star in the film 'Except East Richmond'. Ooooooh...sounds captivating. Dannii of course was in 'Home and Away' tv show. Screenwriter Michael Schiatello said: "She is really keen on the script. She has been putting forward lots of ideas. She is incredibly supportive." The movie will be filmed in Melbourne (including at the East Richmond train station) at the end of this year.

Robbie Williams is fed up with the media for giving him an image of a depressive man and someone who doesn't enjoy life. Robbie though said it's not true and is a true happy-go-lucky person. He said: "I am surprised about what the public thinks of me. They say again and again that I am a highly depressive guy who can hardly get out of bed for the next day. Bullshit. But that seems to fit them well. Like, he may be the famous entertainer Robbie Williams, but he can't enjoy his life. He can't be happy. He is depressive, a terrible person; he can't sing and is certainly gay." Now this boy can definitely sing. The rest of them are better left shelved in the x-files category..

Jennifer Aniston spent most of her time at the Sundance Film Festival chain smoking according to her chauffeur. Apparently whenever she wasn't attending a screening she was inhaling deeply on a cancer stick. The story was told like this:
"...Aniston was so wound up over paparazzi following her, she told the driver: "You need to take me where nobody is." He accommodated her by driving for 25 minutes, ending up in a church parking lot. Aniston got out of the car and immediately began chain smoking cigarettes. The driver says this happened several times during her stay." Try chewing gum Jennifer, you'll live longer.

When Jane Rocca of Beat magazine tells Jack White he is often referred to as a musical genius, The White Stripes frontman says he tends to focus on the criticism instead. "I was having this conversation with Beck the other day and I was telling him, 'Isn't it weird how you can't get the negative sh** out of your head once you've read a bad review, or someone has said something wrong about you.' Some people enter this kind of business for fame and fortune; that has never been my desire. We just make music. Fame hasn't changed me at all. I am still the same guy." Aaah...a humble man. Read more of the article.

This fffire burns alone. Franz Ferdinand have vowed never to do a rock 'n' roll collaboration, because they fear it would be too self-indulgent. The indie boys are proud of their own sound, and hate the idea of losing their individuality in a rock duet. Bob Hardy says: "There's so much more of a history of collaboration between electronic acts and it seems to work much better, but I think with guitar bands there's that tendency for it to end up looking like a mutual appreciation society." Phew! Looks like there won't be any Strokesy-Franz collaboration after all. For that to happen, it would be evil and a heathen.

Richard Ashcroft got a slating recently for comparing himself to Jesus, but he reckons he has more in common with famous painters such as Salvador Dali or Picasso. Ashcroft laid into the makers of reality television talent shows for encouraging people without talent to go all out for fame. "There is a whole swathe of a generation who are consuming this idea that there is a fast track to fame without talent. With some of the pioneers in my field, whether it be the Beatles or the Stones or Dylan, the music came first and the fame was a by-product of their art. The same with Picasso and Dali." Richard believes a nation of music lovers are being fed manufactured dross by singers who are little more than recording company puppets. Aah yes. Like what Pete D mumbled - "If you're not a puppet or a muppet then you might as well call it a day ay-aye!".
Ashcroft hit the headlines for declaring he "feels like" Jesus. He had reportedly added: "There's only one Richard Ashcroft and Liam Gallagher who knows what it feels like. We're the only ones who know how many people we've touched." Oh, here they come, the beautiful ones, the beautiful ones..

Robbie Fowler's back home!!!!!!!! After being in the wrong books of Who-lee-air & Thompson, 'God' was cruelly sold to Leeds where his form dipped like mad. Man City bought him in Jan 03 where he has been in and out of the first team. Fight The Power

Nicole Kidman will work to advance women's rights around the globe in her new role as a goodwill ambassador for the UN. Working with the United Nations Development Fund for Women (Unifem), Kidman will focus attention on "critical gender concerns such as ending violence against women," according to a press release from the UN. "Nicole joins Unifem as we are celebrating our 30th anniversary to help raise awareness on issues of pressing concern to women around the world," Unifem's executive director Noeleen Heyzer said. Good for her.

It's been a long time coming. Kate Moss has taken a swipe at Sienna Miller - branding her an "amateur". The catwalk queen is reportedly sick of S.M winning modelling assignments and thinks the blonde should stick to acting. Moss is said to be furious S.M is featuring on magazine covers she thinks should be hers. The model lashed out at S.M while she enjoyed a boozy night out at the Ritz in Paris. A source said: "She was loudly saying Sienna was not a professional model and she should be getting front covers - not an actress. Sienna is a real threat because she is younger. But Kate is not ready to give up her throne." She also said how she thought S.M stab at celebrity has failed. Kate said: "Sienna has blown it now - she's had her last chance. But she was never one of us anyhow." What Katie did was a joy to know.

Soooo..guitarist Patrick Walden rejoined Babyshambles onstage last night. It was just two weeks ago when he left, causing Pete's band to play their first gig without him. The band surprised fans when Walden walked out with them at the start of their set at the Cambridge Junction in England. But then, they are likely to lose their frontman for a long period come next month..

Liam Gallagher makes surprise London appearance
Richard Ashcroft was joined onstage by Liam Gallagher at his London's Electric Ballroom show on Tues night (Jan 24). [ 1 2 3 4 5 ] The Oasis singer appeared onstage to help out on a version of 'The Drugs Don't Work'. According to fans at the show, Ashcroft was struggling with a rendition of the song and was lying on the floor when Liam came onstage to pick him up and encourage him to carry on, which he did. He came to Ashcroft's rescue when he couldn't remember the order of the song and had to stop/start the performance three times. When he finished the song Liam came on again and started applauding. Then he spoke into the microphone to praise Ashcroft for being a "free spirit". Noel G wrote the song 'Cast No Shadow' which was a tribute to Ashcroft. Great to see an old buddy being there to help out in times of need.

The Vines have set a release date of April 3rd for their third studio offering which is strongly rumoured to be called Vision Valley. The band explains that there is.."A couple of great Beatles kind of punk rock songs, a bit of sixties beat garage stuff, a couple of really good indie slacker tracks and a bit of soaring pop stuff like that. A few strings. He's always been a really big fan of that lush production, whether it's been obvious in the past." The new single is 'Don't Listen To The Radio'.

The Vines finally have their own Myspace Account.

The Sounds
. This is a very good indie band from Sweden. Containing melancholic and groovy tunes, i'm quite impressed with the way they mix it up with electronicas to create some fantastic catchy 'must-hear-again' songs. The vocalist has some of Blondie's aura.

Jewel posted a message to fans on her official website regarding her forthcoming album 'Goodbye Alice in Wonderland', set for release on May 2nd. "'Goodbye Alice in Wonderland' is no fairy tale, but still a strange tale indeed; it is the story of my life - from the extreme solitude of Alaska, to my first trip to Hollywood," the singer writes. My intuition says this lovely lass will entertain me ears again with another feel-good album.

Simon Cowell is responding to talk from 'Pop Idol' season one champ Will Young that Cowell's 'X Factor' show is more about grabbing fame, not about talent. "I am guessing that record sales are not as buoyant right now hence the attack, but I hold no grudge at this point, honestly," Cowell said. I'm not being rude, but...

It's official. All Saints have reformed! The group had been the subject of persistent rumours since late last year that original members Melanie Blatt, Shaznay Lewis and Nicole/Natalie Appleton would follow the lead of boy band Take That and reunite. They have now confirmed that they are signing to Parlophone, and a new album and live dates are expected for later this year. The band's last album 'Saints and Sinners' was released in 2000, and the group split up in 2001. Yeah! Going solo has not been rosy for all of them. Being 'all hooked up' again should work wonders.

I'm glad Charlottey Church refuses to join the ranks of the politically correct celebs. She reckons only Robbie W and Liam G can match her for speaking their minds. Charl - up for the Best Female gong at next month's Brits - said: "Everyone is too PC but I think people like me because I'm quite ballsy and say just what I think. No one ever says anything interesting apart from Robbie and Liam. The rest spout boring rubbish and are nicey-nicey about everyone." Imagine a music world where all is peace and harmony among the singers, anger & true colours being hidden. It will be all.. yellow.

Loved this song 'The Last Time You Go' by Yeti. Very hippie tunes in the veins of The Stands, The Byrds, etc..

The contestants were introduced to a popular female model in their home and Jay M told them to rub some fruits on their faces. The reason was because they are going to do a talk-show stint the next day with some outspoken guy regarding a fruitty product. All had to memorize 10 lines of the product before they come face to face with the 'host'. Kyle won the test..she brought Nicole along to a great prize of hosting VH1 TV show. Coryn & Lisa continued their feud. Lisa called Coryn presenting herself like a 'moron' which led to Coryn calling Lisa an alcoholic bitch. The rest just shook their head... The next 5-7 mins was all abt Lisa whining to her bf on the phone, having glasses of wine...sleeping on the porch alone...Nik & Bre brought her back to the house coz they felt it had to be done. After that, the girls were interviewed by a visiting Tyra to talk about their smoking habits and how it affects the modelling career. Next day, Kyle & Nicole filmed a hosting clip for VH1. Lisa was told to be quiet by the director to which she kept complaining she would do a better job, blah blah. The girls were told to shoot an ad for their personal 'secret fear', then a proned position smiling photoshoot then finally a 'mock' interview with Ryan Devlin about the deodorent product. Lisa did a good job. Nik, Coryn were nervous. Jayla as usual was stunning with her communication skills. Jayla & Nik had the same fear line so.. Jayla accidentally took Nik's line which made her unhappy. Jayla felt the animosity. Nik Vs Jayla feud? Judging time. Lisa nailed it for 3 items(ad, photoshoot, interview). Same goes for Jayla. Coryn, Nik, Bre were not so good. Kyle overdid the commercial with her finger pointing towards camera antics. Kim's photoshoot was a bit stiff. Nicole did well..her photo was brilliant. Twiggy said Kyle was pretty but is just ordinary which is quite true. First name - Lisa.. then Jayla, Kim, Nicole (ad is chosen on TV), Kyle (name shouted playfully by Tyra), Bre....Nik vs Coryn final two. Both were equally low in morale in their performances but Nik was spared. That means Coryn said goodbye to the rest. Nice to see Lisa being naturally sad seeing Coryn leaving while she was given a group hug.

Fancy the girl in ya office? Follow these simple guides and she can be yours...

It was a mission doomed to failure... glam diva Alison Goldfrapp tried to give Coldplay's Chris Martin a Justin Hawkins makeover. The Ooh La La front woman attempted to get the dour singer into some Darkness-style Lycra. Alison, who is known for her figure-hugging stage outfits, said: "When we were on tour with Coldplay, I made a jumpsuit for Chris. I'm one of those people who likes doing things with their hands while thinking about something else, so for me it's like therapy." Somehow i don't think Chris was told to wear her catsuit creation attires...

Jack White's other band, The Raconteurs, have released details of their debut single. A mere 1000 copies of Steady As She Goes/Store Bought Bones will go on sale when it hits the shops on January 30. However, look out for some live UK tour dates planned over the next few months. Jack started the side project with his pal and fellow Detroit musician Brendan Benson plus 2 other unknown musicians. It is retro garage rock reminiscent of the Yardbirds. 'Steady As She Goes'/'Store Bought Bones' is a limited-edition double A-side single, released through XL. The band's debut album is slated for a May release, and a tour is in the works.

Scarlett Johansson has signed a $4million deal to become the new face of cosmetics giant L'Oreal. The actress - from Polish and Danish descent - will star in TV adverts for the company - which has the slogan "because you're worth it." The new deal was revealed just weeks after her two-year contract with Calvin Klein fragrances ended. Scarlett will appear in ad's displaying a range of hair colours, swapping her trademark blonde locks for other L'Oreal shades. They made a good choice.

Pink tutu ballerina for Ashlee Simpson? Ashlee has installed a "ballet bar" in her home to reignite her passion for ballet. She was once the youngest student ever accepted at the School Of American Ballet, but dropped out to concentrate on her singing career. Does it pay off? From the dollar-sign eyes of Joe, it definitely did - with some controversies along the way of course. Now, she's planning to don her tutu again, after setting up a small dance studio in her Hollywood home. She says, "I have to say I'm not very good. It's been a while, but it's fun." Hopefully the dance steps are in-tune with the music..

Party In My Head

Arctic Monkeys have revealed that they learnt to play guitar through Oasis chord books and the James Bond theme tune. Alex Turner says that he only got an acoustic guitar back in the summer of 2001 and could only play two chords. That Christmas he got an electric guitar and starting practising with Jamie Cook (Cookie). He said: "Cookie could play the James Bond theme but I could never get him interested in being in a band at the time. Then he got Oasis chord books and learned them, but only chords. None of us were good enough to do solos but I got into it. "I got James Bond sorted, then wanted to move on and that." Showing his young age, speaking about the albums that influenced him when he was younger, Alex said: "Be Here Now was a big record, but we weren't old enough for the first two Oasis albums." Aaah, young man wasn't there when a shakermaker band shook the planet with some champagne supernova tunes. At least he knew what proper rocknroll sounds like. James bond theme must have a big impact on some of the Monkeys' tunes - edgy, mysterious and confident. Sooooo their debut album outsold Definitely Maybe by 4 times. Gotta rem that there was no technology in '94 for the word on the street to spread globally. It's only the start. Another decade to impress.

Christina Aguilera - Dirrty or clean?
Now that Aguilera is back from her honeymoon, she can concentrate on finishing the follow-up to 2002's Stripped, which she called a "throwback to the 1920s, '30s and '40s". And Xtina 3.0 is pumped for fans to finally hear the glow on her still-untitled follow-up to 2002's quadruple-platinum Stripped. The singer's "first soul record" attempts to connect her current muse - all things jazzy from the 1920s to 1940s - to gritty '00s pop music. "It's a throwback to huge inspirations to me: Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Pearl Bailey," she says. That fits with the pinup-glamour-queen look she's been sporting lately. "Some of the songs are kept authentic, sticking to a really raw, old-soul sound, where others combine elements of old blues, jazz and soul with a hard modern-day edge," she explained. She said the untitled album, due in the spring, is her "best work yet."
Prediction: It's been four years, but with pipes that strong, fans are likely to take notice no matter what decade she's coming from.

"This is the album where I want people to say: Eve's a woman - she's grown up," says the rapper. Her fourth album will mark her debut on Dr. Dre's Aftermath label - though she's awaiting the doctor's platinum touch. "Dre's always the last, and he likes to talk before he makes the beat, so I'm not worried." While collabos with T.I. and will.i.am are in the can, she's looking 'to do something shocking'. Someone suggested working with her unlikely pal Courtney Love to which Eve replied - "That would be dope. We might have to make that happen." As long as it doesn't sound like limp biscuit, E.V.E & Love should a cool collaboration.

Liz McClarnon is set to be the new face and voice of 'Lenor In the Pink'. She is set to re-record 'I Get the Sweetest Feeling' after it was singled out as one of the nation's favourite songs to get ready to in a UK wide survey. Liz's version of the Jackie Wilson classic will also feature on the 'Lenor In the Pink' TV advert and will be released as a double A side with her first solo single 'Woman in Love' which is out on the 13th February 2006. Liz says: "Getting ready has always been my favourite part of going out. I've always loved the original and hope my version will become a real getting ready anthem for 2006." Go Lizzy!

Drew Barrymore has a good sense of humour. Spoofing herself on SNL [ 1 2 3 ] is a great move. Maybe it was Fab's idea? If Vic Spice were to get that sort of criticism from the media, her lawyers will be contacted in no time.

Sony is launching a limited edition Franz Ferdinand branded Walkman in Japan to coincide with a tour of Australia by the band. Available from 26 January, the company is only making 100 units of the player. Lucky Franz Ferdinand fans will also get a special message from the band pre-recorded on to the player and a signed printed card in the box. The player will go on sale for 33,000 Yen (161 pounds). There is no word as to whether the company will be offering the player in other countries such as the UK.

The six cast members of the hit TV show 'Friends' are to reunite for four one hour specials..NOT! Reports that Friends is to be revived were denied by the show's producers. According to recent reports, the six stars have agreed 5 million dollar deals to reprise their roles for four one-hour specials. But a spokeswoman for Warner Bros insisted there were no plans for any new episodes or spin-offs. "There is absolutely no truth in it - it's all rumour," she said. "There is nothing planned of any kind." Bottomline - Don't believe the truth.

Yoko Ono has tried to stop producers from making a film about the assassination of her late husband John Lennon. The new film, currently being filmed in New York, with Jared Leto and Lindsay Lohan is based on the life of Lennon's killer, Mark Chapman during the days leading up to the killing. Ono was reportedly desperate to stop film crews from shooting outside the Dakota Building in New York. Her publicist said: "Yoko immediately checked if the Dakota building had the right to refuse them filming the facade, and found out that legally, all they had to do was to get the permission of the city." Chapman was refused parole in 2004 and will as he was deemed unfit for release. Hmmm....kinda confused by this situation. Maybe she doesn't like the actors involved?

Robbie Williams made peace with 50 Cent after beating the hip-hop mogul to the Best International Male Award at Saturday night's NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France. The Trippin' and Candy Shop duo fell out when they stayed at the same German hotel last year and Williams complained to the management about the noise coming from the American's room. 50 Cent later said that Robb was merely bitter because he had refused to meet him. But Williams shook 50 Cent's hand as he made his way up to the stage to collect his prestigious gong, and said in his acceptance speech: "I also want to pay respect to Mr 50 Cent in the audience." Aaah, some mutual gangsta love is always good. A duo concert would be good too. But Fiddy has to stay away from belting out 'Better Man'...

Editors - Live @ Great Scott (Sun Jan 22nd 2006) review & dls.

Instead of sweating it out in the gym, Charlotte Church is to take up dance lessons in a bid to lose a bit of her bulk. The singer has been recommended the dance lessons as she cannot bear the though of the gym... Church is hoping that losing a bit of weight will guarantee her a place on her fav TV show 'Strictly Come Dancing' next year. She said: "That show's cool. I don't think I'd get Gav on it but I'd definitely have a laugh. I love dancing and I'd rather dance to shape up than hit the gym. I can lose weight if I cut out the drinking - but there's no way I will ever become a skinny Minnie." Nah. She won't be foolish enough to follow the 'Lohan/Richie/H.Duff' route of Lean Girls.

Staying on the topic of Minnies, Woody Allen has slammed Scarlett Johansson's fashion sense - saying she dresses "like my Aunt Minnie". The actress often features in 'best dressed celebrity' lists and has been compared to Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe. Not a bad comparision i feel. But Allen is not impressed by her current fashion attires. The director for Scarlett's new movie 'Match Point' said - "She needs to be more natural. She is a beautiful girl, but I have told her to tone it down. I have told her to dress her age, instead of dressing like my Aunt Minnie." To which Scarlett is not surprised by his criticism - "Woody doesn't like anything I wear." Meanwhile, her mum has criticized her for revealing too much cleavage at last week's Golden Globe awards. But hey, she's got the likeable attitude unlike some dingdong housewives or m.curry. The stunner wore a low-cut red dress to the star-studded event - but her mum, Melanie, says she went too far by showing off her ample breasts. She likens that dress to looking like a member of the 'Baywatch' cast. Zzzzzz..

Now Pete D should have some interest in a tell-all book from Kate Moss who will write about her cocaine abuse. The model is ready to sign a 1 million pound contract to pen the revealing autobiography. However, her close friends fear the book could upset her clients. One pal says : "She has just got her career back on track after everything that has happened but it is a fragile equilibrium and we don't think she should rock the boat. She could jeopardise everything if she decides to talk openly about drugs." Moss will write the book for Richard Branson's Virgin Books Group. His spokesman confirmed: "Richard and Kate have agreed to bring out her autobiography. It's a chance for her to put her side of the story." Katy has now agreed to return to UK and told her lawyers to set up an interview with police officers over that infamous video. Coming clean?

Check out Plan B's music video "No Good"

Graham Coxon is to release the lead single from his forthcoming album on 27th February. 'Standing On My Own Again' is really rather good as always when i have to repeat the video many times with interest, and will be followed by the second album 'Love Travels At Illegal Speeds' on 13th March.

The overly-tanned A.Idol gal who baffled Simon during the auditions. She looks like a mannequin doll that is brought to life.

Rose McGowan is lucky to be alive after a speeding sports utility vehicle (SUV) mounted the kerb on a busy Los Angeles street and almost killed her. The actress was inspecting her new car when the vehicle appeared from nowhere and started careering towards her. The Charmed one had just purchased her automobile and driven it off the dealer's lot and taken it to her best friend's house to have her husband take a look and explain some of the features. While the group was admiring her new purchase, an SUV came barrelling down the street towards her. McGowan recalls, "It smashed my car in half and threw it forward into oncoming traffic." The reckless driver stopped to inspect the damage, but seemed unrepentant about nearly killing the actress. She adds, "I'm totally shocked, and the guy gets out of the car, and this is how my brain works - he's wearing this black turtleneck and I've never seen so much dandruff in my life. "He just stood there, smoking, and I said 'Are you sorry?' and he said (unconvincingly) 'Yes, I am sorry. It was my fault.' "I'm thinking, 'You almost killed me and you have horrible dandruff. There might be more of an apology that should be coming!'" The next time someone collides their vehicle onto Paige's SUV, make sure to check for any visible bad hygenes before giving an apology.

The Fugees return with brand new single "Take It Easy". The Fugees - Lauryn, Wyclef and Pras - have emerged from a New York studio with a brand-new single for the legions of fans clamoring for a follow-up to 1996's "The Score," the biggest-selling hip-hop album of all time. "Take It Easy," the first new Fugees music in nearly a decade, provides a sweet taste of the group's upcoming album, slated for release in early 2006. "I ain't rhymed in minute, but y'all ain't catch up, and that ain't blood on your shirt, that's ketchup!," raps Wyclef on "Take It Easy." Or, as Pras puts it, "Back with the Fugees, fo' fighting for a few billions." "Yup," sings Lauryn Hill on "Take It Easy," "it's Fugees entirely!" Step aside, B.E.P.

This is an IQ test given to job applicants in Japan.

Note: There are no tricks or back door solutions. It's absolutely straightforward, but still surprisingly challenging to most.

RULES:
- Everybody has to cross the river.
- Maximum 2 persons on the raft at a time
- The father cannot stay with any of the daughters without their mother's presence
- The mother cannot stay with any of the sons without their father's presence
- The thief (striped shirt) can not stay with any family member if the Policeman is not there
- Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft

To start click on the big blue circle on the right. To move the people click on them. To move the raft click on the pole on the opposite side of the river. Took me about 10-15 minutes to come up with the solution.

The View - Good refreshing band. This is rock & roll baby. A support slot for Babyshambles recently.
"The View are fast becoming a modern rock 'n' roll sensation. With an average age of 18 years, they have a surprising amount of great songs, differing styles, ability and class. "

Pink says her new video for "Stupid Girls" is meant to be taken as a lesson - that young women should aspire to more than such pop-icon pastimes as shopping, clubbing and making suggestive TV commercials. "I live in L.A., so it's obvious what I'm surrounded by," the punk-pop singer told MTV, adding: "I don't need to name names." Once anyone sees the video, Pink doesn't have to. The parodies take pot shots at a certain hotel heiress's sex tape, a Newlyweds star's music videos, a billionaire twin's boho shopping extravaganzas and a Mean Girls star's car crashes. (MTV inserts the names: Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, Mary-Kate Olsen and Lindsay Lohan). The "Stupid Girls" video was directed by Dave Meyer, and in it Pink reportedly slips off the hood of a soapy car and crashes into pedestrians while on her cell phone - ticked off that it distracts her from applying more lip gloss. Now this is one video that should be fun to watch. Pink will release her new CD "I'm Not Dead" on April 4th.

Paris Hilton's upcoming album will be a collaboration of Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe and Jadakiss rap talent. Scott Storch has been working with Paris to produce this thing. She is now the self-proclaimed "princess of hip-hop". WTF????

Alex Rose was spotted at Korn's Tour bash at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary and all attention was on the former Guns 'N Roses frontman. He spoke with Rolling Stone on the highly anticipated album Chinese Democracy: "People will hear music this year," he said. "It's a very complex record. I'm trying to do something different. Some of the arrangements are kind of like Queen. Some people are going to say, 'It doesn't sound like Axl Rose, it doesn't sound like Guns n' Roses.'" He then smiled and said, "But you'll like at least a few songs on there."

The Rakes have a new song. It's called "All Too Human" and will be released on 27th Feb 2006. It's a departure from the super-hi-hat-Franzy-disco of Capture/Release, a little softer, a little slower, a little more...um...mature (that word is usually the death of any band). In that way, it's a bit like Bloc Party's "Two More Years," the difference being that this one is good, not dreadfully boring, and, unlike Bloc Party, this isn't the first step to becoming Coldplay. That's comforting to know.

Charlotte Hatherley has left Ash after almost ten years in the band. The news is kinda shocking but the split is said to amicable. Ash are returning to the studio later this year to make the follow up to 'Meltdown' album. Charlotte is currently recording tracks for her second solo album which she plans to release later this year.

Liam Gallagher is at loggerheads with Nicole Appleton over his desire to move back to Manchester. He has told pals he wants to buy a pad in the city's New Islington so he can spend more time in the place of his birth. The vocalist has earmarked a fantastic 1 million pounds penthouse in the plush east Manchester development that contains an atrium with its own lake. But despite the glamour of his intended purchase, long-standing lover Nicole Appleton isn't happy. Nicole doesn't fancy splitting her time between north and south and would rather stick to their north London home with their four-year-old son Gene. But Nicole might like to remember that Manchester is only two hours and 15 minutes by train and possibly quicker when you're walking faster than... a cannonball.

Top 10 Dieting Myths
Guide Picks
We've all heard them ... and, unfortunately, believed a few of them. From calorie counting to fending off fat, these are the 10 most common dieting myths ... and the true facts that will set the record straight.

1) If I drastically cut calories, I'll lose weight faster.
When you take your caloric intake down too low, you are actually sending your body into "starvation mode". Your body wants to maintain your weight when it "thinks" you are starving; therefore, your metabolism will actually slow down and you may not lose weight.

2) The stricter the diet, the better it will work.
The stricter a diet is -- completely eliminating entire food groups; eating just one food (e.g. cabbage soup) -- the less effective it will be in the end. You'll get tired of the allowed food and when you feel really deprived, you're likely to call it quits altogether.

3) I should get rid of my favorite less-than-healthful foods.
By treating yourself to your old favorites now and again, you'll stay motivated and you'll be less likely to give in to a binge. Just make sure you get back on track after your treat. Moderation is the key to successful, long-term weight loss.

4) Eating late at night will cause me to gain weight.
All things considered, it doesn't really matter when you eat, only how many calories you eat and burn in a day. Whether you're eating in the morning or at midnight your body turns any extra calories into fat. In fact, eating a light snack -- like cheese and crackers -- before bed may help you sleep better.

5) I shouldn't eat between meals.
On the contrary, eating a small, healthful snack between meals will help keep your blood sugar at an even keel and keep your metabolism going strong. You'll also avoid getting too hungry so you don't over-eat at your next meal.

6) Fat is bad.
Everybody needs to include some fat in their diet. We need it; plus, it makes dishes more satisfying and palatable. Some fats are even good for you, like omega-3 fatty acids, which are found predominantly in fish and shellfish.

7) Skipping meals will help me lose weight.
On the contrary, skipping meals may actually cause you to gain weight! Your metabolism plummets and you get over-hungry. Plus, you may be under-shooting your daily calorie requirement which will backfire on you. That's why eating the meal we skip most, breakfast, can actually help us lose weight.

8) Dairy is a "don't" on healthy diets.
With non and low-fat varieties of most dairy products on the market, working dairy into your diet is a definite "do". Women in particular need the calcium dairy products provide. Not to mention the fact that research has shown eating enough calcium can give our weight loss efforts a boost.

9) It all boils down to willpower.
Yes, willpower may be a factor when it comes to how we respond to cravings, but a lot more factors can impact our weight, including genetics, culture, home environment, activity level and health issues. The good news is eating a healthy diet and exercising can help you overcome these influences.

10) Drinking a lot of water can help me lose weight.
Drinking water in and of itself will not lead to weight loss. Of course, water is key to a healthy lifestyle and drinking enough has tons of benefits; but when people lose weight due to drinking water, it's most likely because they're substituting it for high-calorie juices and sodas.

Once In A Lifetime

50 Cent defends his film 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin' of condoning violence and gun crime. Speaking at the UK premiere, he said: "No way was it in my head to capture a film that glorifies violence." His record label said the image was meant to communicate 50 Cent's fight to escape the ghetto. The film mirrors the real life of the rapper, who was jailed for selling drugs before finding fame. That is up to the audience to judge anyways. Fiddy also announced he is to retire from rap music. He is planning to call time on his successful career after recording just two more albums. He said: "I can tell you now you're only gonna get two more albums from me. I'm gonna fulfil my album requirements, with Shady Aftermath records, and then I'm not sure what I'm gonna do." 50 says he isn't sure if he wants to pursue an acting career after retiring from music. He explained to Radio 1: "I'm not sure I'm gonna be working in films afterwards. I think I wanna stay in the music business, just behind the scenes." That would be hard to believe. Maybe he's bored of having no proper competition all this while?

Will Young to be the R.W clone in the Take That tour? That is not gonna happen of course. As good as he is, Will won't be strong enough to fill in those shoes. The offer which he made earlier this week to the boyband has been turned down. Will fancies the idea of jumping onstage to sing hit tune Relight My Fire. He says: "I'd happily join Take That onstage and look after Robbie's place. That would be so much fun, we could all sing together. My favourite Take That song is Relight My Fire, so we could perform that one." But a spokesperson for Take That says: "The band did their last big tour as a four-piece, so they don't think Robbie will really be missed this time round. "They are really flattered by Will's comments though, and hope they can work together in the future." Don't think the reception from the 30-40 year old peeps would be positive seeing a young boy taking up the space of one Rock DJ.

Speaking of boy band members, Stephen Gately has confessed he fancies Kelly Osbourne. The gay Boyzone member who has a boyfriend - thinks the wild child is beautiful and is obsessed with her smooth skin. Goodness me! Was he drunk?? Gately revealed to Hot Stars mag: "I have a secret crush on Kelly Osbourne. I've met her a few times and she has the most amazing skin I've ever seen." That boy needs psychiatric help asap. Gately is not the only gay pop star to have a crush on a famous woman. Westlife's odd member Mark Feehily admits he would prefer to bed Uglylina than the Troy dude. Hard to understand their taste.

Meanwhile, another Osbourne has been on a recent wild night out with...Kate Moss! The model was said to be "all over" Jack Osbourne at nightclub Teddy's at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Katy was also allegedly bumping and grinding with the 20 year old fatass as fellow revellers - including Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson and Jessica Simpson - looked on aghast . Kate and Jack were first seen out together just days after she left rehab in December to battle her drug problem. Kate was snapped shopping in Los Angeles with Jack - who has also been through rehab to quit drink and drugs. How depressed can Doherty be I just wonder..

PlanB - Sick2Def acoustic
Wow....Rapping while playing the guitars is no easy task if that is actually him doing both. Think along the same vibes as Mike Skinner. I'm predicting PlanB to be a breath of fresh air in the UK hip hop scene this year. Ya heard?

Lady Sovereign - Random (vid)
Good rapping skills from the S.O.V.

Pretty Girls Make Graves - The Nocturnal House
Now this is good stuff from a new band. This song contains guitar tunes reminiscent of 'The Dead 60s' while the vocals sounds like a sober Karen O (YYYeahs). The chorus has a very voodoo-ish manner of repeating 'Maaaaag-ne-tiiiiiic'....

If Paul Banks and Tom Meighan were to join in, they can summon Captain Planet.

Things you should know about music critics. Some funny shite stuff to ponder about.

It took them long enough. The Delays are finally releasing their second CD, titled You See Colours, on March 6 in the UK. The album is preceded by the single "Valentines" (mid-Feb release). Some critics described it as sounding like a Rachel Stevens tune and, indeed, the opening moments are very disco. The track immediately begins to build on itself and get a lil bit harder edged with a sort of Duran2/New Order quality until it goes all choral and then opens back up into an entirely alternate melody!

This week, Coryn was given some 'advice' from a drunk Lisa in the house about her being muscular & thinly which was not well received. Before that, Diane became the photographer for the gang who posed around the house, at one point being topless. Now that's cool. Diane said she was competing with skinny people so she must improve more to stay strong. Next day, Twiggy talked to the gang about her history, how she changed the fashion industry into one that made skinny the 'in thing', 1966 stuff blah blah.. After that, two guest fashion dudes were brought in for them to read all the negative stuff written anonymously by each of them on a paper. Coryn knew that Lisa was the one who wrote the comments about her. Coryn then said it's cool cause she can then not speak to Lisa or be near her from then on. Drama as usual. Next day, they were asked to direct the photographer to show and hide their flaws. Big ears = Jayla, Big eyes = Nik, Big assets = Diane, Too muscular = Coryn, Lazy eye = Lisa, Too white = Nicole, Short Neck = Kyle, Lack of assets = Kim. And the winner is Kyle! She brought Coryn & Kim along to a nice spa session. All 3 talked about Lisa where Coryn+Kim said they just don't like her coz she always try to take control in the wrong way. Jayla, wearing a tight-fitting '19 Italy 84' t-shirt which looks terrific on her, read Tyra mail at night. Next day, Janice Dickinson was the guest photographer who will be in charge for the fake implants photo shoot. Jayla = butt implants, Nicole = tanned up, Nik = long hair to the ground naked covering her boops, Lisa = face lift, Kim = breast implants, Diane = breast reduction, Kyle = Lip injection, Coryn = Botox forehead, Bre = cheek implants. During the evaluation, Diane & Bre looked to be having low morale. When they were told to explain why they should be hired in a test interview with the judges, Kim talked in zzzzzzzzzz snoopy tone. Come the elimination process, first name called = Kyle...then Jayla...then Nik...Lisa..Kim...Nicole...Coryn. Last two were Diane + Bre. And the lack of confidence from Diane seen for a longer period than Bre caused her to be booted out of the competition. No more big mama left.

Paris Hilton has a job as a computer expert. I got nothing to say...

Paris has refused an invitation to strip for Playboy. But then, she already has dozens of homemade nookie shenanigans so why not try out for the bunny mag? "They've asked me a million times," Hilton said. "Hef has been after me since I was 17, and I got offered a lot of money. But I'll never do it." Double H has been begging her to pose since she was a teenager. Asked why she refused the Playboy offer, the star replied: "Because I'm Paris Hilton." (? ? ? ? ? ?)

The Chalets is a quality under-rated band.

From some music site:
# Julian Casablancas, from excitement free indie types The Strokes, is one of only two people in the world to genuinely believe that wearing a military jacket is fashionable.
# The other is Pete Doherty.
# And as Pete also genuinely believes that he's the voice of a generation and that the Babyshambles album is worth paying good money for, his opinion can safely be discounted.

Hah! Military jackets on stage only look good for certain individuals of course.

One thing Julian Casablancas neglected to tell Jay McInerney in New York magazine's cover story about the Strokes was that in 1993 he tried to model for Click Models. The trial lasted for three weeks. Julian Depp?

the next single is...HEART IN A CAGE!!!! Yeah we got left, left, left, left, left, left, left.

Remember the media firestorm when Gwyneth Paltrow named her first baby... Apple? Watch the planet go up in flames when she and Chris announce that the name they've chosen for their unborn baby boy is... CAPONE! Apparently, Gwyneth allowed Chris the naming honors and hubby's brainstorm was to pick a name he believes has "character." (Imagine this kid's first day on the playground? "Hey... CAPONE! You packin' heat, tough guy?")

Scarlett Johansson boob feel by a lucky gay dude TV reporter Isaac Mizrahi. In case you missed it, Scarlett Johansson had her boobs squeezed by a gay fashion designer/Channel E! Interviewer at this year's Golden Globe Awards. The groper, Isaac Mizrahi, told Scarlett "I wanna know about the underwear you've got on," in which Scarlett then replied, "Not much." Then Isaac went in for the kill...Shocked, Scarlett asked him what was going on. He said he was just taking notes. So she said "take all the notes you want." Geez, I guess it's ok to fondle women's boobs if you're gay.

Try playing more tennis for those aspiring to have Scarlett's body. She has revealed this secret behind her "nice body, taut legs and great butt". The actress fell in love with the sport while shooting new movie Match Point and claims it has turned her body to steel. She says, "Every day I had to practise on the tennis court - and I'd never held a racket before. Tennis is great. You don't even notice how much you run. You get a nice body, taut legs and great butt. I'll keep on playing if I find a good partner. But I want to win every time. I am very ambitious." A good idea to have a male tennis partner of course. That dude will make her run from one side to the other non-stop. Both parties will be happy.

The White Stripes will feature in an episode of "The Simpsons" that sees Bart learning to play the drums. Jack and Meg are set to star in the Fox cartoon series later this year, in an episode entitled "Jazzy and the Pussycats". For their part in the show, the pair is apparently being caught in the centre of a family dispute between Bart and his parents over the new hobby. Lisa Simpson is apparently furious at Bart's love of drumming, which develops into an unlikely jazz style, and sees him paying homage to the acclaimed Stripes video for "The Hardest Button To Button". He runs into the Detroit duo after bashing the kit in his bedroom, down the street, through Springfield Elementary school and onto the motorway, where he meets Jack and Meg, reports MTV. A spokesperson for FOX has confirmed Jack and Meg recorded their vocals for the show in New York on November 30. Red & White invasion of the best show on the planet. Brilliant.

Graffiti My Soul

Charlotte Church has been snapped playing happy families with her philandering step-dad - as he helps her move into her new 500,000 pounds Cardiff home. She fell out with James over his cocaine-fuelled sex sessions with a waitress, which are held responsible for her mother, Maria, taking a tablet overdose last year. However, it seems the worst is over, as Chaz, Gav and James were seen carting furniture to her new pad. Charlotte also took driving lessons with stepfather James at the weekend. She was spotted getting to grips with her new Mini car which her boy, Gavin, reportedly lavished on her as a Christmas present. I think by taking driving lessons, there is a sign that the reported feud between the pair has been put to rest. She has now made a vow of silence to save her career. Charlotte is determined not to end up like Geri, Victoria(?!?!?!) and Rachel Stevens, whose chart success has all suffered at the hands of over-exposure. She is following in the footsteps of international stars like Madonna, George Michael and Elton John, who rarely give interviews. The source revealed: "There is something about her every day in the press. She is fed up with the tittle-tattle every day of the week. There is too much out there about her. Charlotte just wants a break. We are going away and coming back. There may be some live UK dates later this year." Not too sure about Maddy, GM & Elton staying away from journalists though. Charlotte has confirmed on her official site that 'Moodswings' will be released in February as the next single.

Thumbs downs to this! Golden Globe organisers have been warned to keep Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley well away from each other at tonight's award ceremonies - for fears that slaps and insults will be exchanged. The girls have never openly admitted a mutual loathing but it is well known amongst LA's glitterati that there is more than a tad of animosity between them. A source confirmed: "They'll be seated as far away from each other as is possible." The girls who regularly compete for the same roles are both up for an award, Keira's is for Best Actress for her role in Pride and Prejudice, while Scarlett is gunning for best supporting actress for Match Point. The source continued: "It's also been arranged for Keira and Scarlett to arrive at different times. The last thing anyone wants is an unseemly red-carpet cat-fight in front of the cameras." Of course they won't do such a silly thing at a huge event. But if it ever happened, there's always security to help out after a short wait..

Keira Knightley says she likes jumping around and getting "very sweaty" when she goes out partying at night. She explained to Cosmo mag: "I'm one of those people who goes to a club and gets very, very sweaty and makes a complete fool of herself." Ooooooh... Which begs the question - How is Keira not hanging out with Paris Hilton or Tara Reid yet?

Avril Lavigne will perform during the Closing Ceremony of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, Italy. She is featured in a special eight-minute production designed to celebrate Canada and point the way to the 2010 Winter Games, which will be held in Vancouver. The Closing Ceremony(Feb 26th) has a live audience of about 32,000 people and is seen worldwide by a television audience of 500 million. The Canadian Games will be held in Vancouver from Feb.12-28, 2010. Definitely one career highlight for this gal. How ladylike will she appear in?

Franz Ferdinand last week talked about who they thought should win Brit awards before the nominations came out, and they suggested that Girls Aloud should win Best Single for Biology... "We really like Girls Aloud. There is some good song writing from whoever is writing for them. Out of all that lot of pop acts, we definitely rate the girls as the best." Good taste from the Big Brothers.

The Strokes performed on Fuse's '7th Avenue Drop' on Thursday (January 12) in New York City.

Babyshambles performed in concert at The Plug in Sheffield, England on Tuesday (January 10). Check out pictures from FilmMagic (show / backstage).

Some cool G.A pics.

JoJo and Stacie Orrico have recorded a duet to be featured on both their upcoming albums. The song title is called 'Cradle'. Stacie has a good voice (as does JoJo) and their styles will be probably compliment each other. She's not the average popstar either and i remembered 'More To Life' was hugely underrated a few years back. Jojo's album will be out in March 2006. The first single is "Too Little, Too Late," and is due to hit radio in this month.

Natasha Hamilton did some interviews lately and she said that Atomic Kitten didn't split, they are just having a break and they are reforming at the end of this year. Tash wants to spend sometime with her kids and Jenny & Liz are doing their solo stuff. She may release something around this year. Check out Liz' CD:UK performance (14-01-2006) video for her first solo single Woman In Love.

Simon Cowell is making a movie about..........himself! His first film supposedly tells the story of two young wannabes striving to make it to the top. But sources claim the movie is a "very thinly disguised" account of his own rise to fame. Thinly ayye? The starring role is for a pop svengali who helps turn the young pop hopefuls into stars. A Hollywood source revealed: "It appears he's going to base his big-budget movie on two subjects he knows and loves best - the pop business and himself. It draws on his life as the man behind some of Britain's most successful pop acts. It tells the story of two pop wannabes' struggles - but there's no doubt who it's about. Simon's very excited and hopes it'll get under way this year." So basically it's a movie where he is the saviour/hero/angel/lovable one. The source added: "It'll feature the joy and the heartache of trying to make it big in the pop world. It will be an uplifting, feel-good movie, but touch on things like sex and drugs." Hopefully not a feel-good factor for he, himself and Simon.

"I'm a tender, loving and beautiful guy who tends to slap a photographer now and then." - Liam Gallagher, Oasis star known as much for his temper as for his musical talent (from some tabloid source). Trying hard to keep a straight face without expressing any hint of laughter is impossible when reading this sort of comment from everyone's fav Rock n Roll star.

Victoria was seen hanging out with Geri again [ 1 2 3 4 ]. Notice how she only hangs out with pregnant women? Errr..what's with that horrible jeans?

At least four actresses screentested this past week for one of two roles in the forthcoming James Bond film "Casino Royale". Bond's first love Vesper Lynd is the lead female role in the film. French actor Simon Abkarian has landed the role of the villainous Dimitrius. The other day, MI6 revealed three of the women who were in contention to star alongside the new 007 Daniel Craig were Rose Byrne, Vera Farmiga and Rachael Stirling. Now, the British tabloids report that Rose Byrne, the 26-year-old Aussie actress mentioned above, has landed the part. An insider says "All the actresses had to perform a bedroom scene with Daniel where Bond says he is leaving the service to be with Vesper Lynd. Barbara Broccoli was particularly impressed by Rose". Byrne would appear to have beaten out Farmiga and Sterling. The winner of the key role of Bond girl Vesper Lynd has yet to be announced but it could be as early as this coming Friday. Whereas This Is London site suggested that a former Italian beauty contestant, Caterina Murino, has been lined up for Daniel Craig's 007 debut. A film source told : "Caterina has got dark, beautiful Latin looks and is stunning." However, the obscure Italian actress missed out on the female lead of Vesper Lynd - which is still to be cast. We shall find out the official decision by this week.

Every six months or so, it seems that people who were involved with "The X Files" assure all us fans that another movie will be made. Gillian Anderson said at a recent interview with a BBC producer that the one Hollywood movie she hopes to do is a sequel to the 1998 "X Files" film. "David and I and (creator) Chris Carter are determined to do it," Anderson said. But due to certain rights issues, "it's become a bit messy. I think the intention is that we will and we hope to - and that, hopefully, by the time we actually do, whenever that is, people will still give a damn." Her next movie, "A Cock and Bull Story" adapted from Laurence Sterne's legendarily offbeat novel "Tristram Shandy," is due for American release later this month.

"Lindsay Lohan is about to be a very busy girl. The singer/actress released her sophomore album, 'A Little More Personal', last December and has released the disc's second single, 'I Live For The Day'. In a bid to boost sales due to unsatisfactory chart standings, Casablanca Records has cancelled the release of the single and video for, 'I Live For The Day'. Instead the track, 'Fastlane', will be the new second single and will also serve as the theme song to Lohan's upcoming film, 'Just My Luck' released in May 12th. The music video will be shot the first week in February." Fastlane. Maybe describing the kind of high she's having while hanging out with Katy. Chorus -> [ Well I want to lose my mind (Well I want to lose my mind) ]. The last line to that song is 'You only live once'. What the..

Ashlee Simpson Habbo Hotel Interview (Nov 7th, 2005)

There's something about rock&roll that hits you in the heart. Which could be the ingenious idea behind UK's indie trio The Subways US debut coming out on February 14, 2006. To keep the love going before the album's release, the band have constructed a contest for fans. Going off the title of their first track from the album "What You've Got To Say" the band are letting fans tell them what they've got to say: about the band, their favorite rock & roll queen, or whatever love note they can muster. Check out all the details of the contest. If you enter the contest with a note for the band you will also be entered for a chance to get a phone call Billy, Charlotte and Josh on Valentine's Day along with an autographed CD & poster. Can you feel the love?

This is a funny interview with We Are Scientists. Don't know them? Jump on the scientists bandwagon now before the world knows about them. And no, they are much better than The Killers.

Cigarette Smoke

George Clooney and Lucy Liu have sparked rumours of a romance after sharing a steamy New Year's kiss. The couple - who were rumoured to have briefly dated in 2000 - reportedly enjoyed a five-course meal at Miami's swanky Bed club before locking lips at the stroke of midnight. A source said: "She was all over him. And he didn't mind a bit. In fact, his hands started to wander." It isn't the first time the pair have been spotted smooching with one another. Last month, the actor - who split from on/off girlfriend Lisa Snowdon last year - and Lucy enjoyed a night out at an exclusive New York Club. Afterwards, they were allegedly spotted enjoying a passionate kiss in the back of the actor's limousine. An onlooker said at the time: "She looked like she was going to devour him." Lucy's rep, Steve Huvane, has refused to comment on the pair's alleged budding romance, saying: "It's nobody's business." What kind of reply is that.. Clooney keeping up with the 'L' trend?

Arctic Monkeys have been compared to Oasis in many ways since bursting onto the music scene. And now it seems they have something else in common - a love of watching Celtic. The Gallagher brothers are long-time fans of that football club, and have been seen a few times at Parkhead. Now it appears their young pretenders from Sheffield are also fans of the Hoops. Arctic Monkeys are in Scotland later this month for the Shockwaves NME tour and are desperate to get to a game. Hmm, Celtic seems to have some indie rocknroll frontmen fans. Not bad. A friend of the band said: "Any time they visit Glasgow it seems to be the day before or just after a game. They do have a soft spot for Celtic because one of the guys they tour with is a big fan." The band will join Maximo Park, We Are Scientists, and Mystery Jets at Glasgow's Carling Academy on Friday, Jan 27th at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh.

Morrissey v Take That?
It never rains but it pours in the music world. The May 06 weekend when Take That will make their triumphant comeback to their home city of Manchester just happens to coincide with planned dates for Manc music legend Morrissey's new tour. Take That will be playing the M.E.N Arena during the first weekend in May - while Morrissey is pencilled in at the Manchester Apollo, Opera House and Bridgewater Hall over the same nights. Let's just hope the city can cope with so many fervent fans in one go.

Robbie Williams is loving aliens instead, after two weeks of intensive Scientology lessons from his ex-squeeze Geri Halliwell. The Robster has joined the controversial cult made famous by celebrity devotees including Tom/Katie and John Travolta. And it's all thanks to Geri, who recently phoned the rock DJ to explain that the wacky belief system had changed her life for the better. Robb asked her to teach him about the religion, which was founded by sci-fi writer L Ron Hubbard and revolves around the concept that an evil intergalactic warlord called Xena once kidnapped billions of life forms and tortured them on earth, where they eventually evolved into humans. A little far-fetched we think you'll agree, but Robbie swallowed the story(????) and is travelling to Tinseltown for more extra-terrestrial worship. So now the singer has been a regular at London's Church of Scientology on Tottenham Court Road. And the former alcoholic and drug addict has fiercely turned against medication and psychiatry, because the cult insists they mask real problems which can be treated with exercise and spiritual study.
A man in the space ship said: "Robbie is obsessed with aliens, which is why he's trying to get a seat on Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic ship, which will rocket into orbit in 2010. "He is desperate for a belief system and a religion which incorporates his love of extra-terrestrials is ideal for him. And it is a huge comfort to him, because he's very lonely and bored touring the world." It seems that, just like ET, all Robbie wants is to go home...

This just confirmed my suspicions about what Stephan Gately said earlier this week. Ronan Keating has announced that he will not be reforming his old boy band Boyzone for a reunion tour as he is too busy. Instead he will be releasing his fifth solo album! In a statement on his official website a spokesperson said: "Ronan has no plans to get back together with Boyzone just now. The guys remain good friends but with a new solo album coming out Ronan is not able to commit to a Boyzone reunion at present." It may come as a bit of a shock to ex-band mate Stephen Gately earlier in the week told the press: "We had a long chat about reforming and Ronan is definitely in. He said he can't wait to meet up with the rest of the lads again. How deluded is he?

Kylie Minogue's spokesperson has denied she has been given the all-clear. Reports suggested that the singer had been given the all-clear from breast cancer by a doctor in France. Her spokesperson said: "Fortunately we are still able to say we have received no news of a reoccurrence of the cancer. "However at this point in time Kylie's treatments are continuing." She'll be fine.

"Standing On My Own Again" is a song from Graham Coxon's sixth studio album, Love Travels At Illegal Speeds. It is scheduled to be released as the first single from that album on February 27, 2006. Stream -> [Win lo / hi ] [Real lo / hi ]

Clips of three new songs ('Dream You', 'Tantrum', and 'Last Day of My Life') from Stacie Orrico have been posted online.

Brisbane twins The Veronicas performed 'Everything I'm Not' and 'When It All Falls Apart' for a packed 'Sunrise' crowd in Sydney, Australia on Friday (Jan 13). In between songs, they also spoke with the program's hosts about their time in America in '05 and what they've been doing for fun while away from home. Watch the performances online at Seven.com.au ('Everything I'm Not').

Scarlett Johansson keeps abreast of what's hot by studying the style of Kate Moss. The actress admits the slender style icon never puts a fashionable foot wrong. She says, "Kate Moss always looks amazing. She always looks great in everything. She could wear a black sack and everyone would rush out to buy one." Lindsay Lohan don't think the same way about Scarlett, though. During a get-together session with Katy, while in the bathroom, Lindsay allegedly asked if anyone had a Sharpie. A fellow patron actually happened to have one and handed it over to Lohan, who then used it to scrawl 'Scarlett is a cunt' on the wall. That's not classy, Lindsay.

Conan O'Brien joked during his Late Night monologue on Thursday night, "Late last night -- I'm sorry I missed this -- late last night, right here in New York, Lindsay Lohan and Kate Moss stopped by the strip club, Scores, and did pole dances for the customers. [Cheers and applause] Actually, Lindsay Lohan did the pole dance, Kate Moss was the pole." Wahaahaha... Conan always know what to say to tickle the funny bone. Maybe Lohan is learning how to pole dance cause she just don't know what to do by herself..

Lindsay Lohan has added a new tattoo to her repertoire of body art, which already includes a star and the sexy slogan "La Bella Vita" on her ass. On Jan 8th, Lindsay and pals headed to a tattoo parlor in NYC, where the teen star had the subtext-heavy word 'BREATHE' inked onto her wrist. The paparazzi would expectedly have their lenses zoomed in on Lohan the next time she is out and about.

White Rose Movement have confirmed that their debut album will be called Kick'. The eagerly-anticipated long-player will hit the shelves on March 6 and features their two previous singles Alsatian and Love Is A Number. It's preceded by the single 'Girls In The Back' on Feb 27. Meanwhile, the band hit the road later this month supporting The Rakes.

The Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond spoke with Time Off magazine about the band's latest effort 'First Impressions Of Earth'. "The big difference was that we had time," Hammond said. "We already had a studio [in their Manhattan rehearsal space] and we spent our advance on equipment. It was the freedom to know we could be here as long - or short - as possible. We did a lot of soul searching before we started, and we took nine months to make it." Worth the wait of course.

Her 'Urban' cowboy was nowhere to be seen but Nicole Kidman was not hiding the sparkling ring that adds weight to suggestions wedding bells are ringing for the Aussie actress. With Keith Urban's ring clearly visible on her left hand, Nicole presented Rupert Murdoch with a humanitarian award in New York. "As you are probably aware we are both from a place we call 'Down Under'" she said, explaining why she had been chosen to present the award which recognises Mr Murdoch's support for Israel. Mr Murdoch thanked "his real friend and great sport" for agreeing to present the award. The actress was clearly the night's star attraction, with every glimpse of the ring on her wedding finger greeted with scores of rapid-fire camera flashes from the paparazzi. Despite the ring, Nicole has still not confirmed whether she is engaged. She spent Christmas at her boyfriend's Nashville home and has spent the past few weeks holidaying with him in the United States after wrapping up filming of 'The Visiting'. The cowboy keeping a low profile, eh? Everyone knows his secret by know.

Charlotte Church has apparently been offered a cameo appearance in The O.C. Creator Josh Schwartz has apparently become interested in the star since she struck up a friendship with Catherine Zeta Jones. A source revealed: "Her friendship with Catherine has got Charlotte noticed in Hollywood. Schwartz is a big Anglophile, he's fascinated by what's culturally hip in England." Not bad. Wonder what Mischa thinks about this Welsh chick. She might be glad that someone else will steal some publicity from her. Ben & Adam definitely will be looking forward to the new scripts.

London rapper Plan B is one of the hottest new talents in British urban music. With recent single 'No Good' having caused a stir amongst hip-hop and indie communities alike, here's the video. Plan B - No Good [ Win / Real ]

Get paid to download music???

Set to revolutionise the dance mat gaming phenomenon, Codemasters confirmed that Dance Factory will launch in America and Europe in April 2006 in time for Easter. Coming exclusively to PlayStation 2, Dance Factory will be the world's first dance mat game that enables players to personally choose the music tracks they want to groove to - from their own music CD collection! Load up Dance Factory on PlayStation 2, choose any music CD and watch as the game choreographs dance moves specifically for the track that you've chosen - live! Then, take to the dance mat stage and get your feet moving to the beats as the dance steps play out on screen. As well as making the moves, Dance Factory will also create animated background visuals to match the beat and style of your chosen track and bring your routine alive.

Dance Factory's innovative beat recognition technology, developed exclusively for the title, ensures that for the first time a dance mat game can span across all music tastes; it works with everything from a classic disco track, to guitar rock, R&B, to most current dance anthem. In addition to the unique 'any CD' concept, Dance Factory will unleash a whole load of different dance mat gaming modes - including Fitness, Endurance and Recorder.
You'll even be able to make Dance Factory part of your workout programme with the game's Fitness mode. The more you move, the more calories you burn and in this mode the game displays a calorie counter so you can see how much you're working off through the tracks...better than Weight Watchers! Dance Factory will also give players the chance to be the choreographer as well as the DJ too! In Recorder mode, you can set the dance moves for the track of you choice and Dance Factory will record it for you. Play it back, complete with your own dance moves, and challenge your friends to try out your steps. Now that sounds radical!
