Violent Past

Megan Fox had to quit being a waitress because customers couldn't keep their hands off her "hot" body. The actress says she was only hired for her looks but revealed attention from clientele at the diner got too much. Fox recalls: "I used to be a waitress and guys putting their hands in the wrong places was a common part of my job. It's no secret that diners hire hot girls as waitresses. It's the same with acting. People want to see pretty people on screen. It's a fantasy world." Fox's role in the upcoming "Transformers" film will see her play a mechanic caught in a war between the battling robots. The star insists she did all her own stunts, including smashing her way through a car window. She said: "I actually had to step up and be the tough chick my character is supposed to be." Looks like this lady is definitely not in disguise.

Donald Trump has a new name to answer to: Grandpa. His son, Trump Jr. and wife Vanessa recently became first time parents to a baby girl named Kai Madison. The name comes from "Her [maternal] grandfather. It's Danish. He's a Danish musician and we wanted to keep it as a family name." The business mogul is also enjoying being a grandfather, finding the experience to be "terrific." This isn't the only toddler in the Trump family. Kai's uncle, Barron, happens to be only a year older than she is. Barron is Donald Trump's one-year-old son. Kai, who was born weighing 6 pounds and 14 ounces, was not due until another two weeks. It's gonna be weird for her to address Barron as uncle.

Paris Hilton's pending jail stint is surely going to muck up promotional plans for the launch of E!'s The Simple Life. No one at E! will talk about it publicly, but so far they're keeping scheduled appearances in place for the scandal-scarred duo of Hilton and Nicole Richie. As of Wednesday, Hilton and Richie were scheduled to appear on the June 6 edition of CBS' Late Show With David Letterman. And Hilton alone is booked for Live With Regis & Kelly on June 7... Keira Knightley is reportedly bemused at the differences between her and her figurine representation. The doll, created for the new Pirates film, has noticable cleavage whilst Keira herself does not. She told Total Film: "It's nothing like me." Her next movie project called 'Silk' is an adaptation of an erotic novel, but Keira told how people would soon be begging her to refrain from nudity. She said: "There are plenty of sex scenes in the book, so the adaptation is true to its source. I think soon, people are going to insist that I keep my clothes on." Nah, more likely the opposite.

Nicolas Cage is set to play legendary gangster Al Capone in a prequel to Brian De Palma's 1987 gangster classic 'The Untouchables' entitled 'The Untouchables: Capone Rising'. The film will be a mixture of real and fictional events like its predecessor. The plot will revolve around the early confrontations between Capone and a young Jimmy Malone. De Palma will direct the film, which has been in pre-production since 2005. Connery won an Oscar for his role in 'The Untouchables', which also starred Robert De Niro as an older Capone. Should be an interesting project.

iPods can cause implantable cardiac pacemakers to malfunction, according to a study presented at a recent meeting of heart specialists. The study tested the effect of placing the device near the chest of 100 patients with an average age of 76 - all were fitted with pacemakers. Technicians monitored information from an electrocardiogram and from the pacemaker itself, via a telemetry screen. Some form of interference was detected half of the time when an iPod was held 5 centimetres from the patient's chest for between 5 and 10 seconds. And, in a few cases, interference was detected when a device was 45 cm from the chest. In some cases the devices appeared to interfere with the pacemaker's telemetry link and in others with its reading of the heart's pacing. The study did not examine any portable music devices other than iPods, but it did incorporate both hard-drive-based and flash-memory-based iPods. "Most pacemaker patients are not iPod users, "Dr Krit Jongnarangsin says, adding that, for this reason, it is unclear how often iPods may cause misreadings of heart rates. "This needs to be studied more," Jongnarangsin adds.
