Bruce Willis thinks Amy Winehouse is "amazing." The actor is a huge fan of the singer's latest album and is impressed with her hard-drinking exploits. He told Total Film mag: "Amy f***ing Winehouse! Amazing. She has a f***ing amazing voice! She's like Janis Joplin, hits a bottle of Jack from time to time." Willis also revealed he has an eclectic collection of music, and admits it is his 15-year-old daughter who introduces him to the latest bands. He explained: "It's weird. I'm getting back into all the music I used to love when I was a teenager, like The Rolling Stones. I'm seeing The Stones in Paris in June. My daughter Scout has got me into The Killers." What happened to 23 days in a cell? Paris Hilton has been released from jail after serving just three days of her prison sentence. Officials at the Century Regional Detention Centre made the decision in consultation with doctors, but refused to discuss whether a medical condition prompted Hilton's release. The Hives are taking their music in a new direction for their next album - they've teamed up with Parrell Williams. One half of production duo The Neptunes, Williams is known for his work with Busta Rhymes and Snoop Dogg. And the indie boys hope their collaborations for their upcoming album will match the success of William's previous ventures. In a statement, Howlin Pelle says: "This new album has been recorded all over the world because we thought it was time to have other people involved. Pharrell told us: 'We should record together,' and 'something bass guitar based.' We ended up in Miami making music with him. Some of his music will end up on The Hives' new record." Should be great.




Franz Ferdinand have resurfaced after a year away from performing - playing five new tracks at a small gig in Glasgow. The band played at the Grand Ole Oprey Country And Western Club in their home town where 'New Thrill', 'Anyone In Love', 'An English Goodbye', 'Favourite Lie' and 'Turn It On' were all aired for the first time. The new songs were said to be synth-driven and pop themed. The show, the first of two gigs at the club before shows in New York, was their first since Reading and Leeds festivals last year.

Girls Aloud have confirmed that they are recording a new album. The pop five-piece have been plagued by rumours that they are splitting, but Kimberley insisted that she has returned to the studio with her bandmates to work on a follow-up to 2005's Chemistry. She said: "Well, we're in the studio recording the new album. (The press) want to blow everything out of proportion just to make news. It is a bit annoying for us." New GA tunes are always welcomed.



Charlotte Church has revealed she's not a fan of Lily Allen's music but she does like the singer's other attributes. Charlotte is quoted as saying recently: "I find her songs a bit cartoonish, but you can't knock her attitude, really, I mean, she keeps me out of the papers." She must be glad about that.

Ashlee Simpson romped with Pete Wentz in the bathroom of his new bar in New York called 'Angels and Kings' on Tuesday night (June 5th). They reportedly entered a bathroom cubicle for a steamy session. A source said: "Ashlee and Pete got a VIP escort to the bathroom and jumped the queue. Pete joked, 'We're going to puke. Seriously, we're both going to be really sick' as they pushed to the front of the queue. They went in together for a good 10 minutes and everyone waited patiently." This woman needs to see an eye doctor if she keeps choosing pricks as partners.




Thunder-thunder-thunder-thundercats hoooooooo!!! Warner Bros has reportedly optioned a script for a live action version of the 1980s television animated series, Thundercats. Paul Sopocy has written the script, with Paula Weinstein producing through Spring Creek Productions. The original series, based on characters created by Ted Wolf, followed a group of humanoid cats with names like Lion-O and Cheetara, who must flee their planet of Thundera after it was destroyed. Landing on Third Earth, they constantly battle against the evil Mumm-Ra. Old timers would enjoy this.
