Los Angeles Waltz
Kate Hudson has injured herself while pole dancing. No, not at a club for the masses but for her hubby. Back in June, Kate revealed that she likes stripping and dancing for Chris Robinson as it helps keep her fit but a friend has claimed she pushed it a little too far recently. The friend said: "She has been really stepping up her routine lately but she may have overdone it. She was trying an elaborate move and ended with a pulled muscle in her leg and a friction burn on her arm. She's out of the stripper game for a while." In the meantime, Chris can always entertain her with some kung-fu fighting moves. Or his own version of the pole dance moves.
Now that Vince is no more part of her 'dating life', Jennifer Aniston has turned to her close-knit group of girlfriends. She is reportedly single again and called upon best pals Courteney Cox Arquette, Sheryl Crow and Gabrielle Reece to help her cope with another broken romance. Jenn staged a girls-only get together at Cox Arquette's Malibu, California home recently and has been referring to herself as "the new Jenn" ever since. Both Jenn and Vince never officially announced their engagement, but US tabloids were rife with wedding plans. The all-girl power meeting was a chance for Crow to officially thank her pals for helping her through her breast cancer battle. She revealed: "I had this incredible tribe of women just descend upon me and carry me through the whole experience on their backs." Good for her. Big Q is, what is next for Jennifer? Adoption?

...when asked for her thoughts on the 'You're Beautiful' singer, Lily Allen put it bluntly: "It rhymes with his surname." :)
Does trouble run in the family? Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina is being sued for fraud after signing her daughter to a record deal with producers Antonio Almeida and Mitchell Chait. Both claimed that they helped Lindsay cut half of the tracks of her album 'Confessions..' and the suit alleges tens of thousands of dollars were given to Lohan. But the thing is, she jumped ship and recorded the album with Tommy Mottola instead, leaving them uncompensated for their efforts. Now, Lindsay has been summoned to be questioned in the court case. This is funny. La Lohan's new man is encouraging her to stay off the booze for a while. Restaurant owner Harry Morton has reportedly asked party animal Lohan to cut back on her drinking due to his family history. And Lindsay reportedly told her friends that "she will stay away from booze altogether." An insider revealed: "Lindsay's not drinking. I've never seen her so healthy and happy." This must be welcome news to Morgan Creek Productions who last week sent Lohan a letter that branded her a spoiled child. Will this 'alcohol free' regime last? Oh, give me a break.

Editors frontman Tom Smith reckons Richard Hawley should be the winner of this year's Mercury Music Prize. It is not hard to see why. This guy makes absolute soothing tunes reminiscent of the old classics. One particular song, 'Hotel Room' sounds incredible and reminded me of "Earth Angel" from the Back To The Future dance hall. Highly recommended. [r.h-site] [hotel-room]
In typical fashion, Kylie has already started rehearsals for her rescheduled tour over three months ahead of schedule. She was expected to begin the gruelling rehearsal schedule in October, a month before embarking on her remaining 'Showgirl' dates. However, preparations have been carried out for the arena shows, which Kylie revealed will have a different theme. "You know, my energy's coming back now. I am so revved up. I can't wait to get back to my day job," she told the Daily Mirror, before touching on the new theme for 'Showgirl' live. "We're changing the show, it won't be the same. We're adding to it. It's going to be magical. It's all smoke and mirrors!" A segment of the 2-hour show will have an Eastern theme, and is being choreographed by Akram Khan. That would probably mean sarong & sari attires with a Taj Mahal replica..

Finally got a listen on the new Sophie Ellis Bextor single! Mooted first single is a Cathy Dennis and Greg Kurstin song, who were last seen together on Pink's 'Centrefold'. Called 'Catch You', the song is an electro-pop stomper with S.E.B purring "Run to where you want... I am going to find you..." Early Demo -> [link]. Now this sounds very promising for her third album.

Cobain, can you hear the spheres singing songs off station to station? A new documentary about the late Nirvana front man will be premiered at this year's Toronto Film festival. 'About A Son' is said to contain content up to 25 hours worth of previously unheard interviews with Cobain carried out by Michael Azerrad. The film director, AJ Schnack, described it as a "dream-like account of Cobain's own successes and failures, thoughts and experiences, allowing the audience unprecedented intimacy with a legendary figure in popular culture." The Azzerad interviews are spliced between footage of the three cities which Cobain spent most of his formative years in - Aberdeen, Olympia and Seattle. The festival takes place between Sept 7-16 and there is no news yet of a general release date for the film.
