The Doberman

Scarlett Johansson is taking the summer off making movies so she can take her friends on a Caribbean vacation. She has completed four projects in the last 12 months, including latest release, Scoop, and so she's taking a deserved break before the next round of shooting starts in September. Scarlett said, "I've been working nonstop. And I think it's time I treated myself to a little vacation. What I'm planning to do is go with a couple of my girlfriends to the Caribbean. I have decided I definitely need the Caribbean. I have a decent break right now. About six weeks because I don't start again until September. That's when we begin shooting The Other Boleyn Girl". Wonder how this girl keeps things in check and not run into trouble.. And it looks like she might also buy a property in London. "I absolutely love London. It's such a great city and the people so welcoming. I have family and friends there and so for me it's like a holiday when I work there. I'd love to have a place there. Who wouldn't? It would be very glamorous."

Christina Aguilera is so in love with her husband she cries when she thinks about him.. and insists she has never felt so strongly about anyone ever before. She told Grazia mag: "I've never been so in love, so happy or felt so alive. I start to cry when I think of everything he has brought into my life. It still feels overwhelming to have married that one person who I completely love and adore. To call someone your husband is a pretty amazing feeling." Don't think this partnership will end in the Jessy Simpson route.

Miss Hilton wants a new co-star for 'The Simple Life' to replace Nicole. She confessed: "I don't know what happened to her. She just let fame get to her head. I look forward to doing a new Simple Life with someone else." E! TV will air a fifth season of the programme but warned they did not want to film the former friends separately again. CEO Ted Harbet insisted it was imperative Paris and Nicole agreed to share screen time for the sake of viewers. He said: "I don't have any control over whether they'll be friends by next season. I'm not sure shooting them separately again is the best thing for the show. We got away with it this season but we can't do that again." We shall see whether David Letterman can help end this long ongoing feud.

Dirty Pretty Things will play a special gig in support of a road safety campaign following a tragic accident involving three fans. Three teenage girls were killed returning from a DPT concert in Ipswich just recently. Now the band have agreed to perform at The Coronet, South London, on September 13 in support of the 'Make Roads Safe' campaign. The campaign calls on world leaders to take action on road traffic injuries, which kill more than 1.2 million people around the world. 200 pairs of tickets to the concert will be given away free by the Make Roads Safe campaign and DPT to supporters in a prize draw. Two sisters and their friend were the victims in the crash. The sisters' father, Phil Stoddart, said: "I hope that the Make Roads Safe campaign will help other parents avoid the pain we have been going through as a result of the tragic loss of Claire and Jennifer." Calling on fans to sign the Make Roads Safe online petition at www.makeroadssafe.org, Carl Barat said: "It is unbelievable that around the world a child is killed every three minutes on the road, yet almost nothing is being done to prevent this. This is why Dirty Pretty Things are supporting the Make Roads Safe campaign." Bless.

The power of Jarvis is still running strong.. Fans have launched an online bid to get Jarvis Cocker's new single to No.1 - despite the fact it is littered with expletives. The Pulp frontman posted 'Running The World' on his Myspace page and it proved so popular it has now been made available as a download single through Rough Trade. Fans on the Play Louder music website are now campaigning to get the foul-mouthed song - which slams the world's leading politicians and businessmen - to the top of the download chart. First it was Thom-y and now Jarvis is joining in as well. Noel G next?

Whereas Evangeline Lilly is looking glum in London:

wonder why she is lost in thought..

Is Lily Allen hooking up with The Rakes drummer? They were spotted heading to a room at the K West Hotel in London's Hammersmith. When pals joined them for a drink 30 minutes later, Lasse Petersen was sprawled in his bed looking a bit worse for wear. "It was all a bit strange," a source revealed. "They were both acting like nothing had happened. But it clearly looked like something had been going on as Lasse was lying in bed and wasn't fully-clothed. And Lily looked very pleased with herself indeed. They were giggling at each other all night." Read more.. [link]
