Up In The Sky

Neve Campbell was terrorised by a string of stalkers when international fame grew after her appearances in the 'Scream' trilogy. Campbell, who played Sidney Prescott, claims one disturbed fan thought he was William Shakespeare and wrote her poetry. What the hell?? She said: "Just after the Scream films the attention was probably at its peak, and it was very difficult to deal with. I had to cope with several stalkers and a lot of very strange letters. But it's not like that now. The people who are watching the sort of stuff I do now are older and more mature. I don't get the obsessive stuff any more." That's the reality of Hollywood life. Weirdos stalking around will be part of the package. How come Anna Faris doesn't have such problems? She acted in four Scary Movies..

Kylie Minogue amazed breast cancer campaigners in Staffordshire, England, when she sent a personal email of support for their fundraising gala last night. The group - Women Fighting For Herceptin - invited the star to attend their event which called for the wonder drug to be made freely available in the UK. Although Minogue is undergoing radiation treatment in her native Melbourne, she still was keen to show her support. She wrote: "I was asked to participate in this gala concert for the girls. As I am focusing on my own recovery from breast cancer I am unable to participate personally. But I send this message with my very best wishes for a wonderful evening. This is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and also to raise funds for all the women fighting for Herceptin." Typical of her. Always bringing joy to others.

Kate Moss will find out in two weeks if she is to face court over her alleged drug abuse. The UK's Crown Prosecution Service will decide if Moss will be charged with possession of a Class A drug. It will end a six-month investigation which began after the infamous photographs were published last September. I think she will escape harsh punishments, just like her ex-junkie squeeze..

Kasabian have revealed that their second album will be "ugly". They have ditched sampled beats and looped drums but the new album is roughly cut at the moment. Tom Meighan explains: "What we've done is become more real. It's not about the sampled beats anymore, it's all about real drums. But don't worry, the album's still really fucking ugly. Sometimes even I'm upset by its ugliness. It's a proper beast of a record and I can't wait to get it out there. But to be honest.. the whole album just picks you up and tears through you.
"Noel Gallagher's been in the studio a couple of times for a listen and given it the thumbs up, so you know it must be as good as I'm saying." Approval by Noel? Fair enough. YeahYeahYeahs has changed their style and still sound good. Now bring on that beast!

Got some "small" change to spend on a T in a park concert ticket??

A statement from The Departure reads: "Lee's contribution to The Departure has been great and we will miss him dearly, he is still a dear friend and the decision was strictly a professional one....we wish Lee all the best of luck for the future." Still awaiting their second album completion. Been too long.

Paris Hilton was the life and soul of the Brit Awards on Wednesday. Hilton managed to cruise around all of the major after show parties following the awards ceremony at Earls Court. After presenting the award for Best International Album Hilton hit the streets of London. Hilton first showed up at the EMI party at the Baglioni Hotel where she danced with Joss Stone and Chris Evans, she then moved on to the Warner party where she danced with Kano. A source told the Daily Star: "Paris took the party spirit with her. Everyone wanted her at their bashes because all the other so-called rock stars refused to party properly." Maybe the next series of The Simple Life can be Paris teaching rock stars how to party properly?

Natasha Hamilton has split from fiance Fran Cosgrave. She told The Mirror before her friends even knew about this sad news. Hamilton confided: "It just wasn't working out. Last Saturday we talked it through. We do love each other - but it 's fizzled out. We were thinking of the kids, so we didn't didn't want to make it a fall out. We've been through so much." It's the second break-up the pair. They have a son, Josh, from before their first split in January 2003. She said: "I'm trying to take my mind off the split. And one thing's for certain, I'm steering clear of men for a while." That is a Frantastic idea..

Keira Knightley has dismissed rumours she is moving to Los Angeles - insisting she is too settled in London. The star claims she would hate to be so far away from her family and friends. She says: "I've no plans to live in America - I'm a London girl. I would never leave. I'm 20 and my family and my friends are there, and a lot of work for me comes from there." The L.A. community won't be happy about that at all.

Partygoers who take the recreational drug ecstasy may face a greater risk of long-term brain damage if they bombard themselves with loud music all night long. The warning follows experiments in rats that were simultaneously exposed to loud noise and MDMA, aka ecstasy. The noise both intensified and prolonged the effects of the drug on the animals' brains. Since the experiments were in rats, it is hard to work out what the results mean for humans, but they do suggest that we need to know more about how ecstasy users are affected by their environment. "The most important finding is that the effects of MDMA can be strengthened by common environmental factors, such as noise in discotheques," says Iannone.
His findings echo previous research by Jenny Morton of the University of Cambridge, who discovered that a combination of methamphetamine (or speed) and loud, pulsing music is much more damaging to mice than either stimulus alone. White noise had no effect on the mice in her experiments. "If Iannone's team had used loud, pulsing noise, their effects would probably have been even stronger," she says. She agrees that more research into the combined effect of music and drugs on humans is needed. "It would be tragic to find that taking ecstasy in clubs as a teenager significantly increased the risk of mental illness in later life."
Andy Parrott at the University of Wales has carried out an analysis of the combined effects of ecstasy and environmental factor. "From the long-term health perspective, dances and raves may well be the worst venues in which to take MDMA," he says. "Dancing, heat and noise may all boost the acute effects of MDMA, but these same factors will also exacerbate the long-term adverse effects."
