Let's Build A Home

Green Day not punk? Not according to Sex Pistols' John Lydon. The front man says the US trio are a watered down version of the true punk ethos. If they aren't punk, then what the dookie are blink182, sum41, goodcharlotte?? Lydon said: "Don't try and tell me Green Day are punk. They're not, they're plonk and they're bandwagoning on something they didn't come up with themselves. I think they are phony." Hmmmmm.....phony. On the subject of the Sex Pistols battle with the establishment, he added: "The government's against you, the police are on you. So there we are fending off all that and it pisses me off that years later a wank outfit like Green Day hop in and nick all that and attach it to themselves. They didn't earn their wings to do that and if they were true punk they wouldn't look anything like they do." I think the Pistols' philosophy on punk is not similar to those shared by Billie Joe & gang. But GD are not cool anymore like they used to be during the Nimrod and earlier days. A group which is punk by nature but never go around telling people that they are is of course the now-defunct Libertines.

Kate Moss used to date an ex-libertine.. and now she has been helping Colin Farrell stay clean. Always good to have Katy involved in the recuperation process, yah? The Irish hunk was reportedly in Miami on a two-day break from rehab for a reported addiction to painkillers. An onlooker told Daily Star: "Kate and Colin started chatting around the pool at the Raleigh Hotel and she asked him how he was coping. He said he was getting there. It's early days for him but Kate's shown him the way and that's got to be a help." Just supply him with Vogue magazines to keep his mind away from that painkillers addiction. It will be a good distraction.

Few months back, Nadine 'Aloud' fancied Colin Farrell. No developments there since then. Oh well.. Girls Aloud are jetting out to Paris next week to film a new video. The pop babes will appear as tasty French crumpet in the promotional video for new single Whole Lotta History which is due out in March. "They fly out next week and we'll be using French stylists to make sure they capture that Parisian chic. It'll be a more sophisticated look than people are used to seeing on the girls," a source revealed. Crumpets? Should be a delicious video then.

The Delays new single is called 'Valentine' (out Feb 20th). They have some new fat beats, but singer Greg Gilbert still posesses the high pitched voice as usual.

Mel C - Better Alone (video)

We Are Scientists - What's The Word (video). These guys are scientifically fun as usual.

The Stills' "Without Feathers" album will be out in May/April. Yeeesssss!!!!!

Brandon Flowers interview
Q: Your sound is decidedly retro. Is that a conscious choice?
A: Yeah, well, I don't want to really be influenced by someone right now. Maybe it's an ego thing. Everything today sucks ... Bands like The Stills bother me because they're all style and no substance. It's totally obvious that these kids don't love the classics like we love them. They're just in it for the now.

How dare he bad-mouthed this band?? Nobody disses The Stills.

Pete Doherty celebrates freedom with a thumbs-up after he was given a last chance to stay out of prison. Doherty's relief was there for all to see as he saluted fans outside court. So now he is ordered to stay off drugs for 12 months - or go to jail. He admitted seven drug offences at Ealing Magistrates' Court, west London. He will also take part in a 12-month drug rehabilitation programme where monthly drug tests will be conducted. His lawyer Sean Curran welcomed the sentence. He said: "It gives him an opportunity to rehabilitate himself and address the underlying problems." Incredible. There should be a Guiness World Record to be made here. Getting in trouble with the law for the 12,397th time and getting away with it lightly again. Someone should take count of this.. But hey, there are more gigs for the gang of gin to enjoy.

Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley have posed together on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine not naked but nude.. The feuding actresses reportedly buried the hatchet in order to pose together. They were photographed by Annie Leibowitz who famously pictured a very pregnant Demi Moore on the cover of Vanity Fair. In the shot, Johansson is laid out on the floor showing off her ass while Knightly hugs her legs as fashion designer Tom Ford, fully clothed, whispers in her ear. A source told the Star about the rift between the two actresses: "Scarlett and Keira haven't admitted publicly to any bad feeling but there was certainly tension between them. There's only a year between them in age and they're both very good looking girls, so naturally they'll be competing for the same big roles. But this Vanity Fair shoot was such a fantastic opportunity to put aside any differences between them."

Simon Cowell has said that he is so sick of hearing some songs that he has banned them. He is so sick of hearing particular songs sung over and over again by American Idol contestants that he has taken steps to get them banned. He has even said that he feels like he would throw up his own intestines if he heard particular songs again. He said: "We've banned certain songs. Falling, Alicia Keys. I never want to hear that song again in my life. I cannot stand it. I'm allergic to it. "And I Believe I Can Fly, R Kelly." As usual, what simon wants simon gets.

Gallery of the Absurd has a hilarious series of Celebrity Valentines going up this week! This is funny stuff indeed.

Chanel designer Karl Lagerfield has laughed off Lindsay Lohan's claims she will front the fashion house's next advertising campaign, insisting she is too immature. In Dec last year, the Mean Girls star boasted she had won a lucrative contract with the fashion giant. But Lagerfield insists the label needs more sophisticated icons, such as film star Nicole Kidman. He told New York magazine: "I prefer Nicole Kidman and that generation." But someday, that generation have to give way.. so there will be some headaches for that fashion outlet.

Staying on Lindsay Lohan, this girl is certainly not looking too downbeat - judging from different stories linking her with actor Benicio Del Toro and singer Ryan Adams. Lindsay reportedly "hooked up with" Del Toro at a star-studded bash last Sunday. Del Toro was celebrating on/off love Sara Foster's birthday, but "he dumped her to party with Lindsay", according to In Touch magazine. It claimed Del Toro and Lindsay spent hours "canoodling". But the mag also indicated that Ryan Adams has been inviting Lindsay over at his Greenwich Village apartment almost every night for the past month. A friend told the publication, "She's spending all her free time with him. She thinks musicians are sexy and she's a fan of his music." Few weeks back, names like L.D.Caprio & Bruce Willis were linked to this girl. Duracell Batteries should ask her to be their spokesperson.

Paris Hilton was ordered by a court of law to stay away from Brian Quintana, a Los Angeles party planner/promoter. Quintana, who introduced Paris to current boyfriend Stavros Niarchos, claims the hotel heiress called him a "lazy Mexican" and bombarded him with threatening phone calls because she believed that he was trying to persuade Niarchos to dump Paris and return to his former girlfriend, Mary-Kate Olsen. Quintana said Hilton shoved him three times, he lost clients after they received phone calls from Hilton warning them not to do business with him and she made numerous phone calls threatening his life. Check out the court documents.

Robbie Williams has bought a 180,000 pounds motorhome to stay in during his forthcoming European tour. The 39-ft brute sleeps six and boasts a queen-sized bed, fully-fitted kitchen, bedroom with en-suite and lounge with 27-inch flat-screen TV and home cinema. Supreme features, eh?

Liz McClarnon reckons Atomic Kitten will reunite despite launching her first solo single. Liz, will be releasing a cover of Barbara Streisand's Woman in Love on Monday. But she insists that, while she and former bandmates Jenny and Natasha are still great pals, there is always the chance of a reunion. She said: "I'd say there's a good chance of us getting back together. Look at Take That. And apparently All Saints are getting back together again as well. If you're still friends then there's no reason not to." The fact that these groups find it easy to make a comeback shows the pathetic state of the current pop world. With the exception of G.A of course.

Lost World?
Scientists say they have found a "Lost World" in an Indonesian mountain jungle, home to dozens of exotic new species of birds, butterflies, frogs and plants.
