French Disko

She is worth 6 million pounds, dates a rugby star and has had her sex life plastered all over the newspapers. It is perhaps not such a surprise, then, that Charlotte Church is writing her second autobiography at the tender age of 19. The singer has signed a six-figure deal to bring out the book later this year. She was persuaded to update the story of her rocky life by boyfriend Gavin Henson, to set straight kiss-and-tells by ex-boyfriends. Church said: "I'm excited at the opportunity to be able to give my side of the story for the last few years." A friend added: "So much has gone on with Charlotte over the last few years that it is going to be one hell of a read. She hates people doing kiss-and-tells but Gavin persuaded her it was right to put out her side of the story. They hate the lies that go on about them." Church was just 14 when her first official life story was written and has since gone from the sweet Voice of an Angel to a rebellious, hard-drinking pop star with hits such as Crazy Chick. Butterfly transformation?

Lindsay Lohan jumped-started New York's Olympus Fashion Week by throwing out rock's devil horn salute during the Heart Truth Red Dress show. Dressed in a floor-length Calvin Klein gown, Lohan led the parade of stars in the Saturday night charity fashion show to help women fight heart disease.

Some people hunt for self-help books to help improve their lives. But Jennifer Aniston has banned herself from reading those kind of stuff. She has stopped looking for advice about moving on with her life and has started trusting her own feelings. (Instinct blues?) Aniston said: "You reach a point where you just say, 'Stop. Just stop looking at these other people's words. Your instincts are pretty all right'." She also blames bad karma for telling the world how wonderful her marriage was back then. Not surprising if she attempts a 'Renee Z' kind of wedding when the right time comes. Lisa Kudrow find it weird why journalists are always highlighting daily events of Jenn and the Troy guy. Is that a sign of 'please give me some publicity'?

Not since the 1980s, when the Yuppie was king, have we encountered such a powerful social group. They've been around for a few years, but only now have they been comprehensively nailed. Meet the Yindie: half-yuppie, half-indie, moneyed urban hipsters. Are you one? And I am...

Placebo are out with the video to their new single 'Because I Want You' [ lo / hi ], from the album 'MEDS', due out on March 13th.

Scarlett Johansson has never heard of Hard-Fi frontman Richard Archer - and they are definitely not dating. It's not the first time this kind of a mystery-date situation has occurred: last autumn Keira Knightley was spitting blood when some rock-brained raver kept insisting he was going out with her. Now it seems it's Scarlett's turn. Earlier reports claimed that Archer and Scarlett are an item. "It's not even anywhere close to being true! I've never met him and, until all this started, I'd never heard of him." There is no word from Archer himself regarding this matter, probably because he's tied up too tight doing major gigs around Europe. Scarlett is happily going out with Hollywood actor Josh Hartnett. The pair seemed to be very much together when they were seen at various parties in Los Angeles over the past few weeks. Scarlett's now shooting The Prestige with director Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins) and leading men Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. In April, she'll be back in her home town New York to film 'The Nanny Diaries'.

Kylie Minogue has been surfing the internet quite often lately. When she is not in the garden enjoying the wonderful Australian late summer, Kylie finds herself checking out some baby clothes online. Not that she is pregnant herself, of course, but such is her enthusiasm for the task that you would be forgiven for harbouring doubts. It is actually her younger brother, Brendan, who will become a father for the first time in May. Nevertheless, the prospect of new life in the family home has delighted her more than anything else. Perhaps it is the unbridled relief of being told that her body is finally in remission from the cancer that has ravaged it over the past year. Perhaps it is the mothering instinct for so long being held back for the sake of her precious career. Or perhaps it is simple sisterly love. I think it's a question of obsession.

Palms Out Sounds has the new single remix of Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Gold Lion (Diplo Remix). It is pure brilliance as expected.

All i can say is, on first hear, this duo has done clever work on depicting the style of Interpol. There are sure to be hordes of 'Evil' supporters having a go about this band(rip-off, fake, poor mans...) . But hey, if it is good stuff then we might as well enjoy the deja vu.

The Vines have finished their third studio album. In a message on the official site, Chris Nicholls is reported to have said on the completion of the record: "This is the best part of making an album! It's the best part". The as yet untitled album is set for release on April 3 with a single to precede it, there are still doubts as to whether the three piece will tour the album. New song from The Vines - Gross Out.

Clive Owen has revealed he repeatedly turned down the role of James Bond - because he reckons no one can top Sean Connery. He was tipped to be the next 007 before Daniel Craig signed up to be the first blond Bond. But in an interview with Glamour magazine, Owen said: "Playing James Bond would have been like entering a golden prison, and I doubt that would have suited me. I may be the only actor who consistently said, 'No, no and no'. I never understood what I would have been able to add to the role, or how I could play a character who has already been defined in the past. For me, Sean Connery is the real James Bond." Bad move to turn it down and allow someone like Daniel take the role. Casino Royale will be a flop if it's not produced properly; with many not in favour of the new lead actor appointment.

British artist Marc Quinn has selected Kate Moss as his latest muse and plans to create a series of bronze sculptures of her. Quinn has hailed Moss as a modern Aphrodite in the media branding her as a a new goddess of love and beauty. He said: "Kate Moss is iconic now because she's come to signify what beauty is in our eyes. She is sculptured by the collective desire, so having her in contorted poses is about the way that society sculpts, twists and manipulates her and her image." Good choice.

Meanwhile, holidaying Katy has rediscovered an old friend to help her through the school of hard 'Knox'. She ran into old flame Johnny Knoxville on a beach in Miami just recently. They had a fling in 2004 and the first encounter was quite simple. Johnny went over and played with her daughter Lila, making faces to amuse her. He and Kate then enjoyed a good few hours chatting. One onlooker said: "It was like they'd been friends for years - there's obviously no resentment." The pair insisted they were just good mates. Fair enough then. A few months later, a babyface guy who goes by the name of Pete came into her life...

Once the leading bastion of pop journalism with a circulation of one million, Smash Hits is to end publication. Having always been the free-gift toting magazine of choice for the teen-pop market, it's kinda sad to see the end of Smash Hits. The front cover was to pop what the cover of NME is to indie - a hallowed prize. Publisher EMAP has put the demise of the title down to "the youth of today" wanting access to information faster and in a more accessible way than a fortnightly magazine. The internet and mobile phones are, of course, the alternative. A pity about this closure. Remembered those good ol' pre-internet days where Smash Hits was an essential item to 'keep up' with the pop world.

Take That will announce that they are making new music together at the end of their reunion tour, the Daily Star claims. The group are apparently planning to play a new single during the last of their sell-out shows later this year. "It's a big secret but the plan is to announce they're officially Back For Good on the last night of the tour," a source revealed. "They'll explain that there will be a new album and then perform their new single for the first time." Wow. These big boys are still not satisfied with the cash intakes, eh?
