Jack White defied doctors' advice to play at the Australia and New Zealand summer festival Big Day Out last week. White decided to go ahead with the travelling event, despite cancelling a string of gigs earlier last month, when doctors ordered him to rest damaged vocal chords. He explained: "It's going pretty good, except I've had three doctors tell me to cancel the tour for my voice, so that's the only bad thing. I have to keep quiet during the day most of the time. Every time I play, I sort of make it worse, so we're trying to figure out a way to get through this so I can take a break after." Big Day Out started in the New Zealand capital Auckland on January 20 and continued on to Australia's Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. His stubborness is just the hardest button to button.

The Pipettes are to release their second single 'Your Kisses Are Wasted On Me' on March 27th. It will come on seven-inch and CD, and will also be available as a download. The CD will be backed by acoustic versions of 'Judy', and 'Dirty Mind'. This is a good all-girl band with interesting 50's stage outfits.

Scotland's top rock bands are to record an album of children's songs to raise money for underprivileged youngsters. Franz Ferdinand will join Belle and Sebastian and Snow Patrol, with proceeds from the album going to Scottish children's charities. Mick Cooke, BnS trumpet player, came up with the concept after he was asked to pen kids' songs for an American charity's CD. Cooke then approached fellow Scottish bands who agreed to contribute music to a release that would appeal to preschool children. Franz Ferdinand's offering is the original song Jackie Jackson, which Kapranos says is about a "greedy kid who eats cakes until he explodes". Snow Patrol decided to cover an obscure track called 'I Am an Astronaut'. Other acts expected to contribute include Teenage Fanclub, Kathryn Williams and Primal Scream.

Tyra called them to get out of the house for an impromptu photoshoot with vaseline rubbed on their faces and hair. The pic will be out in black&white. Kyle & Kim said they were the sane ones left from the group. Jayla thinks that Kyle never do things her own way and need to follow what other ppl say..saying Kyle is not very smart. Nicole screamed like mad b4 reading T.Mail..to bluff the rest that they are going to Paris. In actual fact, they are going to be in a mini boot-camp where they are going to attempt obstacles & get dirty with mud. Nicole and Jayla don't really like it; Jayla said her bra is ruined while Nicole got a lil teary-eyed. Nik's pants fell off many times showing her thong ass. Lisa was the only happy camper doing the stunts. Another T.Mail came right after the stunts..maybe doing a photoshoot in that dirty condition. In their dirty outfits, they were brought to a building for an interview with 3 fashion editors who asked abt themselves and their background, etc. It ended with a simple photoshoot by the editors at the same area. Based on the interview, they chose Lisa who won a prize of meeting with some fashion expert to get tips on how to walk the runway and be a better model. Although the 3 judges praised Kim & Kyle, both were disappointed that they were now chosen to win it. The rest of the gang went home for a shower except Jayla who laid on bed with a extra layer of cloth on it feeling bored tired. Kim told her to quickly take a shower..which didn't go down too well with Jayla. Quite a lot of Kim speeches to the camera, maybe she might be out this week.. Next day, 40s pin-up corset photoshoot with Fusion car in the studios. Some of them can't breath properly with the super-tight outfit. Jayla thinks that although the rest thinks Kyle is most beautiful, she doesn't have the personality to go with it which is quite true. Kim looked feminine and unlike her normal guy-ish self. Nicole posed a cute smile. Judging time. All were given 3 mins to change into something that defines 'sexy'. Kim was in a tennis attire...Bre singlet n shorts, Jayla tank-top + shades on head + tight pants - absolutely stunning. All the judges liked Lisa's black n white photoshot. Shocked to see Kim's 40s feminine look..happy to see Kim showing her potential at last. First picked...Kim...Lisa....Nik...Jayla...Nicole. Bre + Kyle...One really wants to be a model but only good enough for commercial ads..Another got the body, height but...not enough character to be a model. Bre got spared so Kyle is gone. About time she does.

Liz McClarnon is still in a long-distance relationship with the crew member she met on Celebrity Love Island. Last year, Liz had hooked up with film-runner Martyn on the reality show. Unfortunately, he had to stay in Fiji then moved on to Australia after Liz flew home. Six months on, though, Liz is still very close to her holiday hunk and is optimistic about their future. She said: "We're very much in touch and he's very, very good looking. He's English and has just got back from Australia where he's been living. We'll have to see what happens." Her debut solo single will be out on Feb 13 and the debut solo album will follow later this year. Liz laughingly said she's the only one of the Kitten trio without an engagement ring on her finger. However, she claims her own wedding bells are a long way off. Alright. No problems at all. There would be hundreds of blokes out there who wants to 'be with you' if this Martyn guy is not the one.

Jennifer Aniston has revealed Clive Owen is the nicest screen snog she's had. The actress locked lips with the dashing actor in their new film Derailed - and said it was unforgettable. When asked who she would most like to smooch with in a movie, she said: "Let it be Clive Owen - he's debonair and dreamy." Not bad.

Sex Pistols reunion on the cards? John Lydon is considering reforming punk act the Sex Pistols for one final money-spinning show. Lydon aka Johnny Rotten - has been approached to appear with surviving bandmates Steve Jones, Glen Matlock and Paul Cook in Japan. And the punk crew are tempted to film the show as their final performance and go out with a bang - they last played together at their 20th anniversary gig in London in 1996. He says: "There's been an offer in Japan... we might do it cos the money's great, but secondly it can be filmed and that can be an end-piece. We've done England. The hardcore were there (at Crystal Palace) and that's all that counts. And all those that weren't, like other punk bands, can go f**k themselves."
Lydon openly admits that the mutual hatred shared by the ex-Sex Pistols works brilliantly on stage, but makes touring impossible. He continues: "We like the fact that we dislike each other. In a weird way it makes us like each other all the more. It's so brazenly in-your-face honest between us. I love being on stage with those chaps - and I wouldn't be seen dead with them off..... And they'd tell you the same about me." They can give a good reminder to the current fake punk crap bands nowadays on what 'anarchy in the u.k' is all about. Not bozos with coloured hair and metal piercings whining about why their girlfriends left them.

Kylie Minogue is in full remission from her breast cancer, according to her sister Dannii. Kylie was diagnosed with breast cancer in May last year and now on Dannii's website she said: "My best news to start the new year, is that my sister has had her Full Remission". Kylie is in Melbourne and has continued to undergo radiotherapy as a precaution to prevent the cancer's return. Cool. Plans for the next Kylie album will be put on hold till the end of the year.
