Round Our Way

Lisa Kudrow doesn't let her son watch TV. She has banned it to protect son Julian's innocence. Kudrow said: "I don't actually allow my son to watch TV. I just don't think it's appropriate. My son watches DVD's but I limit him to one hour a day. I'd much rather have him spend time with friends or play sports. He's never even seen 'Friends'." Now why is that so? The 'Smelly Cat' song is kinda cool for kids to sing along..

Jessica Simpson cheated on Nick during the marriage?? According to US Weekly, Jessica and Adam first hooked up the weekend of May 22, 2004. They were in performing at the KISS Concert at the Tweeter Center near Boston. Both were seen kissing backstage, getting touchy-feely at an afterparty and then going into his room together late that night. Over the next year and half, they bumped into each other numerous times. When Jessica wasn't at an event with Nick, she would always hang with Adam. The mag predicts that they'll "quietly" hookup for the time being. Jess is in Santa Monica making a movie; Adam is in L.A. working on an album. Then in about May -- six months after her official split -- they'll "accidentally" get photographed holding hands in public. Well..this is probably another fact or fiction story.

Robbie Williams and Shakira have prompted rumours of an unlikely romance, after being spotted stepping out in Los Angeles together. The Robbster walked into last week's (8 Feb) Grammy Awards ceremony with the Colombian star - who has been engaged to Antonio De La Rua since 2001. They have also been seen together shopping in LA. Shakira's spokesperson, however, insists the pair are just friends. She says, "They've been hanging out together and are really good friends." Yeah. Most probably he is trying to learn how to gyrate his bum just like her..

Placebo are out with the video to their new single 'Sorry To Say Goodbye', from the album 'MEDS', due out March 13/14.

Paris Hilton dazzled the audience at London Fashion Week when she took to the catwalk wearing diamonds worth more than 2 million pounds. She wowed the crowds who had gathered for Julien MacDonald's collection last night when she opened the show in a black and white diamond heart necklace which she wore with a full-skirted, strapless satin ensemble. Hilton later brought proceedings to a close clad in a glittery dress and stud earrings closely packed with clusters of diamonds. The necklace and earrings were designed by exclusive Swiss jeweller de Grisogono. But the fun part of the event was just beginning..

Paris was reportedly hit by four flour bombs after her catwalk appearance at London Fashion Week. Activists from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals pelted the heiress with flour in protest of the fur in the fashion collection that she wore. Now where did those people get this idea from?

Paul Weller, 'biggest fan' of James Blunt that there ever is, is also a big fan of the Arctic Monkeys. He loves their attitude and their disrespect of 'rules', such as not appearing on CD:UK and TOTP. Paul said: "They've fucked off loads of people. They have done it on their own terms. "Fucked off Top Of The Pops and done their own thing. It's powerful." Oh yes. Weller has believed the hype.

Maybe after hearing that comment above, Chris Martin must try to chip in as well. Martin has hailed the Arctic Monkeys as "the greatest band in the world". He made the comments while on Chris Moyles' Radio 1 breakfast show. Speaking about what British bands he likes in the run-up to the Brits, Martin said: "Obviously the Arctic Monkeys are the greatest band in the world." He then went on to plead with the portly show host to play something by the Sheffield lads. Moyles refused as the show was only playing tracks by British solo artists.

Officials at Avril Lavigne's management company are helping a fan fight the Recording Industry over an illegal file-sharing charge. Nettwerk Music Group are going to fund David Gruebel's legal costs against the big wigs, who are suing him for downloading Avril Lavigne's 'Sk8er Boi'. Chief exec officer of NMG, Terry McBride said: "What does this litigation do? It destroys people's lives. It's not a tool that should be used except in the most drastic circumstances." The Gruebels are accused of sharing nine specific song files for which the RIAA is claiming $9,000 in damages for what it insists is 'theft'. "Suing music fans is not the solution, it's the problem,' said Terry McBride, Nettwerk's CEO. He added: "Litigation is not "artist development". Litigation is a deterrent to creativity and passion and it is hurting the business I love. The current actions of the RIAA are not in my artists' best interests." That is so damn true.

Ronan Keating still bear grudges and has not forgiven ex-manager Louis Walsh for questioning his musical talent. Ronan fired Louis as manager in 2003. Louis recently said that the two of them are still friends and that is what started off rumours of a Boyzone reformation. However, Ronan said: "I have no respect for him, he tried to absolutely ruin my career. He was jealous. I had to sack him because he wouldn't manage me. He hurt me all right. He's trying to make up with me because he wants Boyzone to get back together. He says in the papers, 'Oh Ronan and I shook hands,' but it's bullshit. He is very controlling and wants to have everything." Bad move, Louis.

When the gang got back home, Kyle left them a goodbye msg. Kim was sobbing in front of camera coz she missed Kyle. Bre talked to mum on phone saying she's now very stressed. Next day, they went to 'Poodle Porcher' to meet an ex-winner Eva who was doing a photoshoot.. and she introduced them to her entourage. She then had a talk-to group session telling them to set their own standard becoz they are a commodity right now. 'Set your own style' is the motto. Lisa flirted with the entourage while the rest sat around yawning away. All of them asked where Lisa was. Then Nik told Lisa they don't like her. That night, Lisa dressed as some ridiculous freak with an 'envy' t-shirt to lighten up the mood of the house. But the rest are not buying into it. All said that she has gone crazy which is quite true. "Have you ever fantasized being the head bitch around?" said Tyra Mail. Next day, they were brought to a place with make-up and fashion entourage...all were given a set of entourage to work with..and then present it to a some big name judge. 1 hr given to complete the task. The judges were from Print Enterprise. 1 guy 1 gal. The guy said Nik is very beautiful and he doesn't want to hear what she got to say. Bre was a little bit nervous. Kim was cool and did well. Nicole fumbled now and then; never said she got the talent but said there were two sides of her, etc. Lisa faked some tears after telling she went through shit in life, Jayla was blabbering her life story in a very comical mountain-echo edited manner and the guy judge looked bored and puzzled which was a priceless moment. Winner = Kim. She got to star in Veronica Mars alongside Kristen Bell. She played a cust svc desk personnel. Forgotten to dial the phone after picking it up.. but overall did ok in her role in that show. Back home...Kim said she was happy she won something at last. Lisa said she preferred to win but she said 'Congrats' to Kim...Kim & Nicole talked to toilet cam saying Lisa was just jealous... and Lisa said to camera she wasn't. Usual girly banter. Next day...photoshoot to potray anger with mtv crazy trio. Bre was not buying into their mad antics. Jayla posed shouting soundless shouts with the trio at background with a mad-dog. Bre was thrown panties by them in the photoshoot. Lisa in the toilet shoving each of them. Kim by the pool side shouting with the trio jumping into the pool at the same time. Nicole laughing-shouting with trio in a bed with Kim which she imagined was a lesbian scenario. Nik shouting out with trio in their lingerie and many boxes were seen to censor their smalls. The rest of the girls were laughing when the guys jumped and after the shoot Nicole was happily flirting with the guys especially one of them. To make sure she gets more attention, Lisa wore diapers and pee-ed on it...the rest were grossed by it. Who wouldn't. Judging time. Test for them to pose with shades (Lisa jumped clumsily and nearly spoiled it, Nicole '45deg back turned and head turned to front' pose), smile with toothpaste product and promote an impromptu chocolate advert.. Jayla was zzzzzz. Bre did well with a sexy voice ad. First name called.. Bre then Kim, Nik, Lisa.. Nicole vs Jayla... both got teary eyed when Tyra told them both to pack their bags...becoz they are going to LONDON!!!! Heart sank for a moment from seeing Jayla going home. But all survived this week.

Editors have been heaping praise on their fellow Brit Awards nominees. Tom Smith says that British guitar music is enjoying a renaissance in recent years and two of the biggest figureheads are Franz Ferdinand and Kaiser Chiefs. He said: "Everyone's talking about how British bands have been enjoying a great run of success recently and I think that's true. Groups like Kaiser Chiefs are brilliant. "Their songs are incredibly catchy. I remember seeing them at the end of last year and every song from their set was imprinted on my memory. They're one of the major success stories." Turning his attention to Franz, he said: "They're a very important band and before they came along that kind of guitar music wasn't being played on the radio. It's great listening so hopefully they will win something."

Gorillaz are set to release a live DVD and CD this spring recorded during their five night stint at Manchester Opera House. 'Demon Days Live - At Manchester Opera House' is pencilled in for release on April 3rd and will feature the gig in chronological order.

Coldplay's announcement at the Brit Awards that they will be taking a break has signalled to many the end of the band completely. Chris Martin hinted the group is to step out of the limelight for a few years, over fears the media and public will get sick of them. They have done the right thing. X&Y is so bloody overrated. Martin said: "People are fed up with us and so are we. You won't see us at one of these for many, many years. We mean it. It's hard for us sometimes because we're English and we don't get to admit that we are great. So tonight we'd like to agree with you for giving us this award." Friends and sources are now claiming that Martin is putting the band on hold to spend more time with his wife Gwyneth Paltrow and their baby Apple. The couple are expecting another child in April. The singer apparently later told Brits host Chris Evans: "You had a break, so are we." Yesssssss! If only Blunt-y follow suit..

Those cheeky Arctic Monkeys managed to baffle most of the Earls Court audience at this year's Brit Awards . In the film of the acceptance speech for the Best British Breakthrough Act the Sheffield lads somehow managed to acquire a mystery fifth member. In fact, they had drafted in We Are Scientists frontman Keith Murray just to confuse the audience. Funny guys.

People like a song more when they think other people like it too, a new study suggests. But the interactions between individual and group opinions are so complex that it is impossible to predict whether a good song will be a hit or a flop, according to researchers who asked people to rate the quality of music by unknown bands.
Sociologists Matthew Salganik and colleagues at Columbia University in New York recruited more than 14,000 people to visit a website with 48 songs by relatively unknown bands. People could listen to songs, rate them, and then decide whether to download them. One group of participants saw only the names of songs and musical groups. Other participants also saw how many times a particular song had been downloaded by others. Both groups broadly agreed about which songs were good and which were bad.
But participants who could see how often a song had been downloaded tended to give higher ratings to songs that had been downloaded often, and were more likely to download those songs themselves. That created a snowball effect, catapulting a few songs to the top of the charts and leaving others languishing. "From outside of the industry, it seems like music executives can create stars at will. But we only see the ones that become successful. We don't see all the failures," Salganik says.
