Paul Weller has ruled out any chance of ever reuniting The Jam. The band's former frontman says he will never reform the three-piece where he initially made his name. "Nah that would never happen. Why would I want to go back? For nostalgic reasons? That's never good enough," he said. "My philosophy is to embrace the new day and get on with it. If The Jam reformed now it'd just be a sad cabaret and that's not what I'm about at all."
Weller also added that recent reports that he is worth 165 million pounds were wide of the mark. "Noel Gallagher called me up when he read that and said, 'You've been holding out on me, you tight bastard - lend us a tenner," he said. "But 165 million is way, way off what I'm worth. If anyone knows where all those missing millions have gone, please give me a call." The Jam legacy is better off being remembered as it was and not going through the rolling stones path. No need for a rein-carnation.
Rufus Wainwright credits classical music with saving him from a life of drug abuse. The 32 year old musician hails the genre as the key to his successful rehab ordeal from a crystal meth addiction, and insists it should be an inspiration to every artist, regardless of their age or lifestyle. He said, "The greatest asset during my rehab process has been the influence of classical music, which saved my life. Unlike rock 'n' roll, where drugs, sex and debauchery are the norm, you can write your most interesting music when you're old, fat and ugly." Hmmm..has he just looked through the magical crystal ball? Maybe he can recommend this interesting therapy to Pete who has just..
Pete Doherty is out of rehab just over a week after he checked himself into a drugs treatment centre in Arizona. Under pressure from his on/off girlfriend Kate Moss, Doherty checked into the Meadows Clinic on 19 Nov in an attempt to beat his addiction to narcotics. But last night (28 Nov) Doherty watched The Bravery perform a gig at London's Brixton Academy. I suspect he might not thoroughly enjoy the new yorkers gig.. An insider said, "Kate is bound to be disappointed. Pete knows he can never be around her until he sorts himself out." Now that's not cool. He himself checked in, but was surprisingly seen in London. Not too sure whether Sam Endicott actually noticed the shambles singer. Even if he did, don't think he was 'fearless' enough to make a 'public service' annoncement to the crowd telling Pete to go back to Arizona. Oh well..
Kristanna Loken (that T3 stunner) has now developed such a great fascination with blood, she now enjoys tasting her own whenever the opportunity arises. The star, who plays a half-human, half-vampire creature in her latest movie BLOODRAYNE ears her gruesome obsession is getting out of control. She said, "I have a fascination with it... Personally, I like the taste of my own blood: I'll taste that any day before that awful fake blood they use in the movies. It has this disgusting, faux-minty taste." But Loken draws the line at tasting other people's blood - although she does enjoy occasionally biting their flesh. She adds, "I've been known to give love bites. I wouldn't say they're my go-to move, but love bites are nice." Nice indeed..
Kristanna has warned her pal Michelle Rodriguez never to start a fight with her - because she certainly would win. While Rodriguez is often regarded as one of Hollywood's tough girls, her BLOODRAYNE co-star insists she could easily defeat her in a brawl. The actress said : "I love Michelle, but she's little; it wouldn't be much of a fight. She is quick but I'm bigger. I'd be pretty confident that it wouldn't last long." What do you expect? Prior to T3, Loken mastered this Israeli form of martial arts called Krav Maga that they teach the military. 007 might also become 00mouse in a sparring session with her.

We Are Scientists have confirmed that their new single will be 'It's A Hit'. The follow-up to 'The Great Escape' will hit the shelves early next year. Speaking about the video for the single, the band said through their official site: "This new video, it'll be trudging through the post-production muck for a while. We're going over to Akivia's place... to see a rough cut and try our damnest to polish this chopped turd." Sounds great. Their group photo pics philosophy is somehow similar to The Beastie Boys.
The Simple Life series will make a return. E! Networks have purchased 10 episodes of the fourth installment entitled The Simple Life: Til Death Do Us Part. They will air the new episodes next year. The new format will show Nicole and Paris with a different family each week, taking turns to play 'wife' to various different families who will decide who does the best job sort of like Trading Spouses. They will do stuff like tending to children, putting dinner on the table and otherwise playing house in order to, in the words of E!, "put the girls to the matrimonial test." The company have also bought the rights to the first three series which will no doubt be re-run and re-run and re-run again and again...
This is quite funny. Jessy Simpson was actually thrilled by the failure of her '03 single Sweetest Sin, because she felt pushed into recording the "stupid" song. The singer released the track from her album In This Skin, but it failed to chart anywhere on the top 100 - leaving her elated. She said, "On In This Skin, I didn't think Sweetest Sin represented who I was as an artist. It was stupid and I loved that it completely tanked. I've been told what to do and was looked at as a product for so long, and everything was put into perspective at that moment." Errr..there is actually an action called 'refusing'? As a result, Simpson insisted on taking the reins on her upcoming album And The Band Plays On, which is set to be released in the spring '06.
She added, "This is the first album that I've approached with confidence. I finally believe that people like me for me. On this album, I wasn't doing what other people told me to." Bring back the Irresistable & A Little Bit tunes please. No DD crap or 'with you, with you' cheesy stuff.
Anyways, Jessica refused to sign a prenup back in Oct 02, even though Nick asked her to. Under California law, since the couple did not sign a prenup, earnings during the marriage are divided 50/50. If the couple doesn't settle out of court, Nick would be entitled to tens of millions of Jessica's earnings during their three years of wedlock. Ah hah! That is definitely the sweetest sin.
Levy is a four-piece band from New York who have been together for almost two years. Proving their status as one of the most exciting 'up and coming' bands, Levy is out with a new and improved video for their fantastic track 'On The Dance Floor' ...No ArcticMonkey dancing stuff...more in the vein of Interpol's NYC & Snow Patrol's How To Be Dead.

Goldfrapp's next single will be 'Ride a White Horse'. It will be released on 13th feb. Wonder if that shiny horse from Ooh La La appears again this time. Actually I would have preferred Satin Chic. A personal fav. There's always a slot for the fourth single so maybe they had already booked for it. For now, i wanna ride..on..a white horse. Fantastic song.
Possibly getting ideas from seeing 40-50 year old aunts on videos working it out, Charlotte Church is shaping up for a new fitness video. She has reportedly been going through her fitness regime with Gavin Henson. Now she wants to combine a healthy diet with gym sessions and has been getting Gavin's advice. A friend said: "Its not about losing weight. It's about feeling healthy and good about herself." Apparently she wants to show people that you can stay healthy and look good without dieting or doing crazy workouts. Hope she remembers that it is a fitness video, and not a tissues & issues music video.
Soooo..after just two weeks into marriage, Christina Aguilera wants the genie in a bottle to grant her a pair of tiny feet in her Malibu mansion. A pal revealed : "She's been saying that once the world tour she's planning for next year is over she wants to concentrate on starting a family." Xtina will make a good mum. But those diiiirty music videos must be kept away..
Fancy a Wham reunion to make you go-go? Following Duran Duran, Tears For Fears and Depeche Mode comebacks, there were some speculation that Wham could breathe out some old careless whispers. BUT, that gay dude George Michael has laughed off rumours of a Wham comeback tour, insisting his former bandmate Andrew Ridgeley would never agree to perform again. They split in 1986 and Michael went onto to launch a successful solo career. Despite the recent reunions of fellow 80s bands, Michael insists Wham won't be returning to the stage. He said: "Oh please... there's nothing big planned on that just yet. Even if I wanted to do it, Andrew would never do it. I'm afraid I can't get into those small tennis shorts anymore." Viewers are MORE afraid of seeing you in those shorts again. So now, we all just have to endure rubbish wham renditions on American Idol..

The world premiere of the film Memoirs Of A Geisha, based on the best-selling novel, has taken place in Tokyo. Starring Ziyi Zhang, it tells the story of the transformation of a penniless child into an accomplished geisha. Directed by Academy Award winner Rob Marshall, it is based on Arthur Golden's 1997 romantic epic, which sold more than four million copies in English and was translated into 32 languages. The lavish, 85 million dollar production features exquisite kimonos and a magical set which captures the atmosphere of pre-war Japan. The film's story follows fisherman's daughter Chiyo, who is taken from her home at the age of nine and sold to an okiya, or geisha house, in Kyoto. As she blossoms into the geisha Sayuri she encounters intimidation from rival Hatsumomo, played by Chinese star Li Gong, and help from her mentor Mameha, played by Michelle Yeoh. Though her beauty enchants many powerful men, she secretly yearns for the Chairman, played by The Last Samurai's Ken Watanabe.
The world of the geisha remains shrouded in mystery to this day. Often confused with prostitutes, geishas are accomplished artists, rigorously trained in music and dance. The word "gei" means art in Japanese. With their elaborate kimonos, bright red lips and jet-black hair, they are an emblem of a fast-disappearing world. The film will be released in the UK on January 13.

Opening Shot
Rachel Stevens fancies a non-pop superstar! When Rachel met jazz sensation Jamie Cullum at a recent London gig, she made the first move. What a lucky boy. BUT the shy piano dude knocked her back. The Funky Dory star only had eyes for the 26 year old musician at the private party afterwards. An observer revealed: "She went straight over to Jamie to tell him how much she loved the concert and his music. He was all red and flustered by her attentions, mumbling and grinning at her like a schoolboy. And she wasn't just enthusiastic about his performance - she was being properly flirty with him."
"He was clearly very flattered but he looked like he wished he were somewhere else." Too bad. The twentysomething guy is not willing to 'negotiate with love'. Rachel, 27, has been single since her year-long relt with Gavin Dein which ended in Sept. Prior to that, she was with Holby City actor Jeremy Edwards. The reason for Jamie's reluctance...he has been together with Brazilian lawyer girlfriend Isabella Cannell for more than three years. A pity. Hope Rachel won't play the 'waiting game' on him, which many others would definitely will.
Would Freddie Ljungberg and Rachel Stevens look good on screen together?? Now don't go there.....Rachel plans to add some man-candy to her next saucy video in the form of that underwear model/football star Freddie. Rachel, who's just picked up the Smash Hits award for most fanciable female, plans to release another single, Crazy Boys. It is one of the best up-tempo tracks from the second album. She said: "It's all top secret but my dream is to have the lovely Freddie in the video for the song as my boyfriend." Rachel teased, "I'd like that in real life too, but I'll start with the video." Freddie comes at a price though - the C.K boy could pick up over 10,000 pounds for a video appearance. Think he would do it for free, even if it means feigning an injury to get some spare time from his Highbury training. Hey, it's the Gunners after all, where players know how to fall down from invisible tackles.
Snow Patrol have relocated to Ireland in an effort to finish work on their new album. Singer Gary Lightbody, posting on the band's official site, said they should have completed initial work by Dec 10. He revealed: "This does not include strings and brass in London and a choir in Glasgow, all to be recorded the week following the tenth. These should both take no more than a few days in total...it's all going very good right now." Lightbody said lyrically the new songs could go "either way". He joked: "Don't panic it's still dark as hell in here, it's just sometimes there's a happy ending." He mentioned that new track It's Beginning To Get To Me was originally played on the band's US tour with U2 and sounds "proper monster". The other new song titles he revealed are Make This Go On Forever, You're All I Have, Open Your Eyes, The Only Noise, Warmer Climate, You Could Be Happy and Chasing Cars. One of the 'not bad' indie bands. Hope they can maintain the quality the second time round. Not another X&Y sad type of declining spiral.
Kylie Minogue : Showgirl - The Greatest Hits Tour DVD is due on Dec 12th. Starting the world tour from Scotland in Mar this year; 23 nights at only 4 different venues in the UK. A total of 27 songs from this DVD. The impatient ones out there might want to get it through here. Not really into online purchases. I'll just have to wait a couple more weeks to grab this essential physical item.
Hard-Fi's new video - Cash Machine!! A re-release single on Dec 26. Love the video concept. The band are seen working 'behind the scenes' of an ATM. Ace.
Babyshambles Albion video. A simple, slow melodious track that has a special beautiful meandering quality about it. Released on Nov 28.
Discovered a new band from London - The Dirty Pins. Can sense a lot of influences ranging from The Buzzcocks, The Libs, BShambles, Clash in them.....This particular song 'I Feel So Milton Keynes' is very impressive. Would be wise to take note of them.
Noel G live acoustic sessions! Includes B-side gems such as Whatever, Spaceman and Underneath The Sky.
Richard Ashcroft new single is called 'Break The Night With Colour' . Is he still relevant?
Avril Lavigne the model?
Avril Lavigne made her mark as the idol of disaffected teenagers rebelling against the Barbie doll pop that ruled the early zeroes. Now witness Avril in her new incarnation: glamorous, grown-up and angling for her share of those fashion campaigns currently being coralled by celebrities. And via her reps at Ford, she already has the blue chip editorials piling up. Stay tuned.. An absolute stunner.

Supergroup looking for singer
Members of New Order, Stone Roses and The Smiths are in search for a vocalist. Freebass - a supergroup consisting of New Order's Peter Hook, The Smiths' Andy Rourke and The Stone Roses Mani - are on the lookout for a singer. The band are looking to complete their line-up with a fresh face. "We want someone young with something to say. Someone new," Peter Hook said. "I think the problem is that the three of us have such a pedigree of vocalist, that if we come out with someone that's not good we'll obviously be slated! You've got Ian Brown, bloody Bobby Gillespie, Ian Curtis, Bernard (Sumner) and Morrissey. Those are big shoes to fill, especially collectively," he said.
Hooky described Freebass' sound as "(sounding)like New Order with a bit of the Stone Roses and a bit of Smiths and some Northern Soul."
The star went on say the songs the supergroup have been working on contained all three bassists playing together. "Mani does the low part, Andy Rourke in the middle and I do the high bit. But it works out quite well," he said. Any indie uncle who can sing willing to join them??
Is there an 'Arctic Monkeys' clone also hailing from Sheffield? Milburn is another class act not to be missed. Absolutely incredible catchy dancy tunes. Some samples: Lickin' Lips / Storm In A Teacup / Send In The Boys.
For Arctic Monkeys, enjoy this 30 mins+ video stream live studio performance in the US. They played Ritz to the Rubble & personal fav - A Certain Romance!
Kubichek is one to watch in 2006. Hailing from Newcastle, they've got some catchy indie tunes that attracts me ears a lot. Check them out here.
The Departure = super underrated band that has been around since early 2004. They have toured in Japan...but not in here. Don't think the mtv execs even know their existance. We don't have MTV2 like in Europe. Mcflys & Good Charlottes are the 'popular' ones. Some claimed The Departure to be the second reckoning of The Chameleons (80's band), while others pictured their music as U.K's own Interpol (a bit unfair i think..both are superb in their own different styles). Listen to some of their tracks here.
Ever the businessman, 50 Cent is planning to release his own line of condoms and sex toys. (????????????) The star, who already has a clothing line and a range of energy drinks, hopes to branch out into the lucrative sex market He told GQ mag: "I need to make a 50 Cent condom, and a motorised version of me. But I want to do something like that, to create something that's popular and exciting sexually for women." This guy is really in the 'Trump' mode at the moment. Bling-bling add-ons??
Gwyneth Paltrow is not happy with her Hollywood pals who put off motherhood to further their careers. The actress, who is rumoured to be pregnant with her second child, once hit out at workaholic stars who never see their children. Now she is targeting those who delay starting families. She says: "I sort of look at some peers of mine and I think, 'No, you've got it all wrong.' I just want to tell them all to have babies and be happy and not get sucked into that Hollywood thing." It's their own choice and lifestyle. Some will be entangled in the "Carrie Bradshaw / Mr Big" scenario while some are following the 'Paula Abdul' route..
Joss Stone said her parents' split has discouraged her from ever getting married. The 18 year old singer, who recently split from Beau Dozier, said she is having second thoughts about future nuptials because she does not want to risk unhappiness. Joss said: "My parents are much happier now, but it makes me think I don't want to get married and I was really into getting married before. "But if they don't love each other then they shouldn't be together." She must also have taken note of Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, Eliz Hurley, Bruce Wills, Aniston's....quite a long list for this young lady to ponder on.
The Kooks - 'You Don't Love Me' Out on Jan 9th 2006 from the forthcoming album 'Inside in/Inside Out'.

White Rose Movement. Anyone else loving this band at the moment? Quite dancy, and their from Norfolk I think. Current single is called 'Alsation' and is worth a listen. If you don't like it at first, I promise it's a grower.

He mentioned that new track It's Beginning To Get To Me was originally played on the band's US tour with U2 and sounds "proper monster".

White Rose Movement. Anyone else loving this band at the moment? Quite dancy, and their from Norfolk I think. Current single is called 'Alsation' and is worth a listen. If you don't like it at first, I promise it's a grower.

Oh dear! Keira Knightly is behaving in a rather desperate manner all in a bid to win back her ex-boyfriend Jamie Dornan. This beauty allegedly wants to convince the former model to give their relationship another chance after they split earlier this year - despite reports claiming it was actually Dornan doing the wooing. Knightly has reportedly been sending flowers and food to his London home while trying to convince him to give their relationship another go. What in the world was she thinking? A close pal revealed: "She brings flowers and food round to his bachelor flat and tries to give it a woman's touch. At the moment, he's spending all his time in the studio working on his album, and he simply doesn't have time for Keira." He really isn't worth it..
Jennifer Aniston has vowed to re-marry and have children in five years. The actress, who got divorced in October, admits she is still desperate to start a family and has vowed to fulfil her dream in the next few years. She said: "In five years, I would hope to be married and have a kid. I still believe in marriage 100 per cent." Good for her. Would Vince Vaughn be that lucky dude? The unconfirmed couple can deny a lot of things, but pictures of them on balconies, beaches and in the alley behind restaurants enjoying a cigarette break and a warm embrace suggest otherwise.
Alan McGee says that the debut album from Carl Barat's new band Dirty Pretty Things "is turning into a classic". McGee said: "I just spent yesterday in the studio with the band and producer Dave Sardy ... who did Oasis and Jet." He added: "And I've got to say that the sessions are going incredibly well. 'Bang Bang' is a massive hit. And so is 'Deadwood'. The album is turning into a classic already. Dirty Pretty Things and Dave Sardy are super pleased with how the sessions are going." Is D.P.T gonna be as good as the Killamangiro's clan?? They can try of course, and with Barat around it should have some quality.

Eminem's new video parodies the recent stint the rapper spent in rehab for addiction to sleeping medication. The video for "When I'm Gone" was directed in Detroit by Anthony Mandler last week and depicts Eminem in a scene resembling a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. The scene is set in a gym where adults are sitting on folded chairs around a podium. The song is lifted from his forthcoming greatest hits album Curtain Call released on Dec 2nd.
BAD NEWS! The Stands have split after front man and main creative force Howie Pain decided to quit the band. Posting on the bands official website Pain revealed the news but assured fans that he plans to move on to new projects and will continue to make music. He wrote: "I thought I should be the one to break the news that after much thought I have decided to no longer continue with the stands. It has been a wonderful few years or so but over the last months my heart has been slowly being drawn towards the idea of change and musical pastures new." "There has been many changes leading to many reasons, recent times have been both creative and difficult in equal measure, I guess in order to seek clarity I want to now take the time to take some time to get some fresh air and move onto something new."
He went on to thank the bands fans saying: "We all thank each and every one of you all for all your support, taking the time to listen to our records and coming to see us play, it's been a pleasure, thank you so much to you all. Howie." Sad. They are a good underrated band with some incredible tunes reminiscant of the 70s hippy/psychedelic stuff. Hope to hear from him again in the future.
GOOD NEWS! Travis have recorded 20 songs for their follow-up album to '12 Memories'. Producer Nigel Godrich is again working with the band at the Hospital recording studio, bass player Dougie Payne told fans on their official website. Payne said: "We're working in a place called The Hospital. The studio is in a building that houses a members club, two restaurants a TV studio and most dangerously of all a martini bar. "Thankfully the studio part is on the top floor, nicely separated from all the temptations. We've got about 20 songs recorded. This includes stuff we did in Westside earlier in the year and one tune goes back to the sessions we did with Eno last December.
"We've got two weeks in here this time around and reckon most of the time will be spent finishing off those things that need more work but we decided to start off the session with trying a new song. This is one written by our friend Suzie Hugg. We've recorded a couple of her songs before (Reason and Unbelievers were both B-sides a few of years ago). She is a great writer." Yeaaaaaaaaaaa Woooo Hoooo!!!!!! Keane, Snow Patrol and the overrated Coldplay are never in the class of the mighty Travis. I'm so happy...coz you're so happy...

Just read a very long detailed article on The Strokes.
Some interesting points highlighted :
- "Razorblade" is "one of my least favourites, but yeah, what can you do, I guess I sorta knew [Mandy]," he shrugs...
- Room On Fire was the point where the emperor's new clothes were revealed. The Strokes were another faddish rock band whose time had been and gone, just as it was for the bands who came in their wake, The Hives ("The Swedish Strokes") and The Vines ("The Australian Strokes")...
- Declined to say what the suggestive "Juicebox" is really about ("it's a metaphor for bloodsucking," he lies)...
- There's an awful lot to take in over First Impressions Of Earth's 14 tracks. It's bigger: instead of Blondie-meets-Sex-Pistols spiky pop there are elaborate songs featuring mellotron, prog-rock guitar solos and club-friendly rhythms..
Juicebox the single is released on December 12 with B-sides:
1. Juicebox
2. Hawaii
3. Juicebox (Live In Rio De Janeiro, Brazil)
4. Juicebox (Director's Cut)

Robbie Williams' search for the perfect woman seems to have taken a swerve in the direction of Cheeky Girl Gabrielle Irimia. (!!!!!!!!! * 10,000) He interrupted a TOTP performance to announce that he was a "cheeky boy" after seeing Gabrielle and sister Monica perform. When he bumped into Gabrielle at an ITV1 party last month, sparks flew and numbers were exchanged. A source revealed: "Robbie kept telling Gaby that she's sexy and beautiful. Then he asked how she kept her figure and she explained she had a gym and a swimming pool at her pad in Regent's Park. She invited him to come for a workout with her, so Robbie asked Gabrielle for her address. Gabrielle has vowed not to date anyone until she has seen Robbie. She is really smitten and would love to see what could happen between them. She remembers having a Take That poster book back in Transylvania.
"It's incredibly exciting that she's even met him, and now he's asked her out." Gaby must be have felt 'something beautiful' about Robb that she is even willing to break the cheeky vow. As long as there are no future disco/techno remix collaboration tracks, which would sound horribly bad, then it should be alright for me.
The best comedian on the planet - Homer Simpson - could soon be driving you round the bend as one of the new voices for a Satellite Navigation system, which directs drivers to their destinations. The yellow anti-hero will groan a commiserative "D'oh" when drivers make a wrong turning while Bart Simpson will instruct stressed motorists: "Don't have a cow, man!" The animated duo will be joined on the high-tech navigation tool by a host of other celebrities including The A-Team's B.A Baracus, and even the British royals.
A spokesperson said, "Having your favourite star give you directions will certainly make long journeys more interesting. And if it proves to be a success there's a huge list of big names who could be signed up.
"Even if you're a fan of the posh voices you get on regular devices, ours could still be for you because the Queen (Elizabeth II) would come to your assistance." The technology is expected to be launched next year. This is quite an innovative idea. In the future, the words 'Darn', 'Damn', 'Shite' might not be said or heard again...
A computer disc about the size of a DVD that can hold 60 times more data is set to go on sale in 2006. The disc stores information through the interference of light - a technique known as holographic memory. The discs, developed by InPhase Technologies, based in Colorado, US, hold 300 gigabytes of data and can be used to read and write data 10 times faster than a normal DVD. The company, along with Japanese partner Hitachi Maxell announced earlier in November that they would start selling the discs and compatible drives from the end of 2006.
"Unlike other technologies, that record one data bit at a time, holography allows a million bits of data to be written and read in parallel with a single flash of light," says Liz Murphy. "This enables transfer rates significantly higher than current optical storage devices."
Although holographic memory was first suggested in 1963, it has failed to find commercial success so far. However, the holographic memory could challenge formats such as Blu-ray and HD-DVD. As well as offering greater storage, the main benefit is speed of data access. The discs developed so far by InPhase can already stream a movie recorded in high definition television (HDTV) format. However, the technology must also stand up to everyday use. "It is an open race right now. But you have to convince the customer that it is going to be reliable."

Beautiful Pain
After three years from their last studio album release, Silverchair is headed back into the studio. The band broke through in 1995 with their debut album Frogstamp. Having received much success and critical acclaim, its full potential will never be known as the band was never able to tour behind this album due to lead singer Daniel John's illness which left him unable to lift a guitar. But now, John is recovered enough for the boys to head out on the road early next year to test some of their new material. The group reunited for a tsunami benefit concert in Sydney and then they began to discuss the possibility of recording together again. They are getting ready to head back to the studio in May. An okay band. But they need to come out with something special to steal the headlines from fellow aussie rockers, The Vines & Jet, who will release their new albums next year.
Interpol - Remix [EP] (Nov 22nd 2005)
In some of the most austere yet deluxe packaging known to man, or at least the history of the record industry, Interpol's collection of 4 remixes from Antics, one by each member of the band, makes its debut as an EP under the title Interpol Remix. These 4 remixes were previously available on the bonus disc to Antics: The Special Edition, and were also spread across the B-sides of various import singles.
Richard Ashcroft has announced a series of gigs taking place next year. Ashcroft will release his third solo album on Jan 23rd, titled 'Keys To The World'. *that symphony song starts ringing again*

Pete Doherty has reportedly been busy working on solo material. Apparently the Babyshambles frontman has been tucked away in a 'secret' West Country studio laying down some tracks. It's claimed that he's had no contact at all with his band members - Adam Ficeck, Drew McConnell and Patrick Walden - while at the studio. Pete has allegedly used the time since the Babyshambles tour ended last month to record the material. I don't think that is true. He has now checked himself into rehab in Arizona to finally beat the crack-cocaine addiction that is blighting his life.
What is Kate Moss doing in the photo studio?? Too ecstatic about Pete finally going to rehab maybe.
Another Kate...Kate Hudson - is now considering giving up acting for good. Hudson, who has a two year old son, Ryder with Black Crowes guitarist Chris Robinson is ready to quit Hollywood for good. She said: "Every day I tell my husband, 'Maybe we should cash in. I'll make handmade lotions and you can write music and sell it on the internet.'" Nooooooooooooo....!! *echo sounds* ....What's the deal with hand lotion?
Is Chris Raab from MTV the latest boyfriend of Ashlee Simpson? They are desperately trying to keep their relationship a secret. Ashlee recently announced she was looking for a normal boyfriend(the last one isn't...) after things went so wrong with celebrity men Wilmer Valderrama and Ryan Cabrera. According to some mag, Ashlee has been trying to keep the romance a secret from her manager/father Joe Simpson who would 'hit the roof' if he found out about it. Raab is also a client of Joe's and is unaware that the couple have been dating for a month. A source revealed: "Her dad would hit the roof if he found out. He wouldn't want her getting serious with a guy when her career is taking off." Well...Ashlee seems to have a penchant for her dad's clients as Cabrera was also on his books. This Chris is the nephew of that cool dude, Matt Damon.
A mega unsurprising news!! Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey called it quits after months of persistent break-up rumours. "After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways," they said in a joint statement released by their publicists. "This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other." The couple married in Oct 02, back when they were known simply as pop singers. Their famous reality show, Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica, which chronicled their daily lives in a new California home, turned them into stars. It ran for three seasons, in which memorable scenes include the time she confused the tuna she was eating for chicken, or when she eschewed Buffalo wings because "I don't eat buffalo". The news came just days after rumours started circulating about Jessica's possible pregnancy. But it seems that increasingly long periods apart and months of speculation surrounding their fidelity to one another finally signalled the death toll of Nick and Jessica. This a good chance for producers to coax a freshly married couple to sign up for - Newlyweds: Xtina & Bratman.

Another happy couple - Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend - are planning to wed the day it becomes legal for gays and lesbians to wed across America. The longtime couple are tired of being asked about their marriage plans so they've come up with a novel line to keep the press happy. Theron told a news show: "We came up with a new idea that we said that we would get married the day that gays and lesbians can get married - when that right is given to them. We've decided that we're gonna use that in a positive way, so the day that law gets passed then we'll get married." This only shows how serious they are being with each other. That's cool.
From the UK, the currently famous Brit couple - Cheryl Tweedy and Ashley Cole - are planning on getting married in July. They will marry at Highclere Castle, the recent venue for Jordan and Peter Andre's(aka the b-o-r-i-n-g pair) tasteful wedding celebrations. It has been scheduled on that particular month because they will wait for Cole to compete his responsibilities for the England team at next years World Cup before tying the knot. A source said: "Cheryl has always dreamed of walking down the aisle in beautiful Highclere Castle but after Jordan's wedding she was having second thoughts. She didn't want her special day to be a big tacky affair like that, but when she saw how tastefully it could be done she followed her heart and went with her first choice." Nah. Self-declared 'chav' Cheryl or anyone for that matter couldn't be as tacky as that J person.
Ryan Adams is a chess fanatic, and he insists The Strokes are just as obsessed with the intellectual game as he is. Unlike many rock stars, who relax by hurling televisions out of hotel windows, these guys would rather pit their wits against each other over a chess board. He explains, "Chess has become a pretty rockin' deal for The Cardinals (Adams' backing band), and I think Nikolai is pretty damn good. I actually asked him for some tips the other day." Nikolai the indie chess master?
Fabrizio Moretti says Australia is a top priority for the band when the group tours their third album next year. "We're going to come back very soon and play the whole show to as many people as we possibly can," said Moretti, in Australia for a brief promotional visit this week. Fab and Drew Barrymore both loved visiting Australia. "I love the Australian fans," he said. "I feel like if I stay too long then I'll stay for ever." Hmmm...
The Strokes have just come offstage in Sydney, playing an intimate show to just 800 fans and industry guests at the city's Gaelic Club. Hundreds of fans - including Noel Gallagher - crowded into the small venue to watch the band play a one-off show in support of their upcoming third album, 'First Impressions Of Earth'. Despite signs outside stores selling the exclusive tickets saying that the band would play only new songs, the 17-song set featured tracks including 'New York City Cops' and 'Reptilia'. During the hour-long show, Jules kept repeating that he was "fucking blind", at one stage pouring a drink over his head and doing push-ups. But he praised locals who'd lined up for tickets, saying; "God bless you. Australians are really good people. I mean that!" Fans who attended the gig had nothing but praise for the new tracks showcased during the set. "They're really great live," Maria, 18, said. "All the leaked tracks sound even better. '15 Minutes' sounds really sloppy (on record), but it's almost like it was meant to be heard live. It sounds really fresh."

Looks like 50 Cent could be banned from performing in Canada next month, if a crusading gun-crime politician has his way. Curtis Jackson faces opposition for allegedly promoting gun violence, in his rap lyrics and with new film Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. MP Dan McTeague fears that his upcoming tour, which kicks off in Vancouver on Dec 3, will incite gangland brawls and potentially escalate the recent wave of fatal shootings in the country. He is lobbying for the rapper, whose criminal record forces him to obtain official permission before entering Canada, to be refused entry. His last concert in the city in 2003 was marred by a fatal shooting outside the theatre, while his gig in Montreal prompted brawls. It's best that he avoid that place for now.

Re-Offender
Interpol drummer Sam Fogarino was left embarrassed when Ashlee Simpson went backstage to congratulate him after a raucous gig - because he had no idea who she was. The New York rocker is used to having famous Hollywood folk as fans, but was surprised to learn Ashlee and her older sister enjoyed his band's music as well. Fogarino said, "We did a show and Ashlee was hanging out backstage and I really didn't know who she was. I asked her what band she was in. I think I embarrassed her more than I embarrassed myself.
"She's so sweet, she's very sweet. I would openly welcome the sisters Simpson into the Interpol fold." Interpol also count Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves and David Bowie among their enraptured followers. Very interesting that Ashlee l.o.v.e the dark indie rock scene. Would imagine that the first song she heard was 'Specialist' from The O.C soundtrack...

Pet Shop Boys have just completed their new album in a West London studio. The album has been produced by Trevor Horn and features 10 new Tennant/Lowe songs and "Numb", a song by Diane Warren. Neil and Chris started writing songs for the album in Jan and commenced recording with Trevor Horn in May. Chris Lowe commented: "We've really enjoyed making this album with Trevor and his team and are very happy indeed with the finished result." Neil Tennant added: "We think it's a great Pet Shop Boys album and also a great Trevor Horn record." The album is expected to be released worldwide in April 2006. We shall see whether these uncles can still come out with 'absolutely fabulous' songs..

Kylie will release her first ever digital only single on Parlophone on December 25th. The single, a live version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow is backed with her Christmas classic 'Santa Baby'. 8 further live tracks and 3 video tracks will be available to download from early December.
Somewhere Over The Rainbow is taken from the live DVD "Kylie - Showgirl The Greatest Hits Tour", which was recorded earlier this year at Londons Earls Court, part of Kylie's most successful UK tour ever.
Joss Stone and Beau Dozier have split, leaving the singer totally heartbroken. The couple had been going out for two years and Joss, claims she still loves Beau. The soul singer has confessed: "I don't know what happened, but what can you do? It's such a sad thing." But, ever the gracious girl, Joss insists she is still friends with her ex. Joss doesn't think it was her busy schedule that caused the split. A spokesman confirmed: "Joss and Beau have split up, but they remain good friends." Well, this beautiful lady won't have any problems finding a replacement boyfriend. But if you have the height of Jamie Cullum...then it's a pity..Jamie has signed up as youth ambassador for the Samaritans charity. He has long admired the volunteer-run service which provides confidential 24-hour telephone or online support to anyone in distress. And now he is determined to use his fame to highlight the good work carried out by the struggling charity. Cullum has supported the organisation since the start of his music career, providing Samaritans collection boxes at all his concert venues. "I'm genuinely delighted to be joining the Young Ambassadors to help the Samaritans," said the jazzmeister. This guy has just increased his cool factor. There are two songs from Catching Tales which I think are top class : 7 Days To Change Your Life and Our Day Will Come. Sinatra in sneakers indeed.
Jamie Cullum releases the second single from his new album, Catching Tales, on Nov 28. Mind Trick is one of two collaborations on the album with his older brother Ben.
The Bravery have revealed that they don't plan to release their second album until at least this time (Nov) next year. Sam Endicott has said that the band plan to take a month off after their current round of touring the UK, Europe and America but they have no plans to go into the studio as yet. (?????) Endicott added that the New Yorkers are currently working on new material while on their tour bus and prefer to work at home rather than heading to the studio to record. Maybe they are worried about 'the curse of the second album'. In Jan this year, NME claimed that they will be bigger than The Strokes... Now was that an honest mistake?
Alex Kapranos was not overly impressed by the news that he has an avid fan - in the shape of future King, Prince William. Apparently William is a huge fan of the stylish Scots, but Kapranos has firmly asserted that he won't be making a beeline to palace. He is quoted as saying: "The royals have nothing to do with music. Somebody told me that Prince William is a fan, which is great, but I don't think the royal family or politicians and musicians should mix." Could they have it so much better with royalty fanbase?
Interview with Eddie from Art Brut (15th Nov)
Q: What was it like playing with Oasis last week?
A: Liam (Gallagher) loved "Modern Art", he was at the side of the stage rocking out to it as we played, and Noel said he already had the album. "My Little Brother" is his favourite; I found that quite funny actually. I've never personally been a fan of Oasis, but they were friendly people.
Q: Any news about the next single?
A: I'm not sure, it was supposed to be "Blame It On The Trains", but maybe a new song; I've got the words written, I'm just waiting for some music. It might be "Some Fallingovers".
It's a pleasant shock that the bros actually appreciate Art Brut. The first song which caught me ears was 'my little brother' and the initial thought was "What the fooook is this all about??". Very queer type of rock&roll and the vocals sound like he is actually talking instead of singing but it has cheeky fun tunes. Class understands Class. Bring on the next single!
Tony McCarroll is suing his former lawyers for failing to win him enough compensation. This is the second time McCarroll has attempted to sue his former lawyers. It's not clear if he intends to sue the lawyers who brought the previous, failed attempt. Tony McCarroll, who was sacked from Oasis in 1995 wants to exact revenge on the legal team who failed to win his bid for $32.4 million damages from the band when they axed him. McCarroll, who worked on Definitely Maybe, claims he had a five-album contract and had been "unlawfully expelled from the partnership". The drummer was forced to settle for just $990,000 compensation. He immediately sacked and sued his lawyers, but a judge dismissed the case. McCarroll's legal spokesperson refused to comment on the progress of his second court attempt. Wow. A decade has passed and he still refuses to 'slide away' from this case. Not enough 'magic pie' being given to the shaggy-haired drummer. Whatever.
Hard-Fi's Richard Archer explained work has already begun on the follow-up to their debut, 'Stars Of CCTV'. "We've got about 30 songs written over the last year after the last album," he revealed, "But I don't know if they're any good yet. I'll have to sit down and have a look at them." Archer also revealed of all the bands joining Hard-Fi for the first night of the Wonderland (including the Kaiser Chiefs, Editors, Maximo Park and The Dead 60s), it's The Dead 60s that are the best drinking buddies. "We've met them all, but probably hung out more with the Kaisers because we toured with them back in April," he considered. "But probably The Dead 60s [would be the best drinking partners], they're dark horses - you better watch them." Not bad. Indie-ful boys on the beautiful dance floor?

Pete Doherty has followed Kate Moss into rehab after the supermodel pleaded with him to get treatment for his drug addiction. He flew to America last Saturday and is believed to be in The Meadows clinic in Arizona, where Kate was treated last month. This dramatic step showed how much he feared not being able to see Kate again. Everyone close to her had blamed Doherty for her cocaine problems. A friend said: "Pete hates rehab, but he thinks he'll never get to be with Kate without going through it. He knows she wants him to do it and she will help him out as much as she can. He's realised that unless he take serious steps to sorting out his problems Kate simply cannot be seen around with him."
Last month Doherty openly admitted Kate wanted him in rehab. Kate has so far refused to meet Doherty and he has been left alone, feeling depressed. Several Babyshambles gigs over the past few weeks were canceled. He is understood to have been living in Bath, only being seen in London when recording an appearance on Jools Holland. Another friend said: "Pete's been really down as it's ages since he saw Kate and he genuinely fears he may never see her again. Now it looks like he's chosen her above drugs - which is a massive step for such a long-term addict." We can only hope there's a happy ending this time. Well done, dude!
Take That have been offered 1 million EACH to reform for a one-off tour. Are they gonna to do it?? You have to win Survivor four or five times to get that total amount of money*4. Mr Barlow has revealed that the boys are prepared to go ahead with the plan whether Robbie Williams wishes to take part or not. "We've been offered a million pounds each to go back on the road one last time," said Barlow. "Robbie has been included in the offer but I don't know what he thinks. But we would do it without him. I think we'd have to. I did well from Take That but this is still a very large amount of money. Financially, it's a very tempting idea and I know a lot of our fans would like it. Our live shows were what made Take That great. We're just thinking about it at the moment." Robb is somewhere in his 8 million pounds luxury 115 foot-long Athena cruiser yacht which he has just bought from Italian boat company Riva. The top of the range craft is engraved with the name "My RW". Maybe during his 'monsoon' trips he might think about the offer. But then, what's 1mil to the Rock DJ?
Anyways, Robbie is convinced the key to pop greatness is a magical ingredient which only a tiny proportion of bands and artists are blessed with. He pinpointed a special something in only a small number of acts ranging from highly credible rock groups to chart-topping manufactured bands. He said, "When I first saw Oasis I recognised a thing - I don't even know what you'd call it, just a thing - that was greatness. It's outside of pop in the way it's meant now but it's pop brilliance to me. I thought I saw it again with The Strokes, but I might've been wrong. And then I think people have seen that thing in The Libertines and Pete Doherty." Yup. Whatever he 'feel' at those moments are definitely of supreme instincts. But then, how about girl bands?? Well..."But you know that thing? I got the same feeling watching the Spice Girls. When Geri came down the stairs in the union jack dress... it was so f**king powerful seeing those girls together." The psychic thoughts has always been in good intensive care even before the ego has landed, eh?
"She's so sweet, she's very sweet. I would openly welcome the sisters Simpson into the Interpol fold." Interpol also count Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves and David Bowie among their enraptured followers.

A controversial lawmaker proposed to award singers from pop duo Tatu with Orders of Friendship."I request that the committee on culture reviews the possibility of awarding singers from the world-famous Tatu pop group with Orders of Friendship," member of the lower chamber of the Russian parliament, Alexei Mitrofanov said during a plenary session. In his opinion, the singers, who have topped the charts all over the world, deserved the state honors and he urged deputies to support his initiative. The Order of Friendship is awarded to figures who have made a substantial contribution to strengthening ties with other countries.
"Yulia Volkova and Yelena Katina have visited dozens of countries and have given thousands of interviews to the media," said Mitrofanov. "Even Prince Charles swore he would learn Russian before TV cameras during a meeting with them." Not bad. All the things they sang did make a huge impact worldwide.
Some nice pics taken by a Strokes fan.
So..Robbie Williams has no interest of breaking into the US music scene. "America has never really been the end piece of the jigsaw for me," the singer said at a crowded news conference in Mexico City. Why is that?? Reason: "I live in America. Nobody knows me there. I can pick my nose, and get away with a lot of things that I wouldn't be able to get away with in the rest of the world, and then everywhere else I go I'm a pop star. And it's fun - it's like being Batman."
His latest record, Intensive Care, would not be promoted in the US. Living there must be something beautiful for Robb, aaayyee? To be 'misunderstood' all the time back home is no fun at all, so it's a smart move to stay in a cave. One million tickets for his 2006 tour were sold in less than 3 hours. Internet servers crashed and telephone systems were unable to cope when the coveted tickets went on sale. To make his fans more delighted, he added a string of extra dates. The tour will see Williams play in venues from Europe to South Africa.
The Subways - Rock n Roll Queen video. His sneering vocals is reminiscent of early Supersonic days. A quality band.
Singapore Idol will return for its second season next February. Hopefully, the winner will be a someone who can actually sing (ala Will Young/Gareth Gates) and not some crap arse who depends on rnb dance moves to compensate for the lack of vocal talents.
Keira Knightley was named Britain's sexiest woman. Her "perfect" looks and laid-back attitude helped her scoop more than 35 per cent of votes in an online poll for some established mag. Sienna Miller was second, grabbing 17 per cent with Kelly Brook coming in third with 14 per cent. Keira also left several other high profile girls in the shade, including Billie Piper, Cat Deeley, Rachel Stevens, Naomi Campbell and Kate Winslet. The deputy editor believes it is not just Keira's looks that set pulses racing. He said: "I think the thing people like about Keira is that she seems very relaxed and down-to-earth. She is grown-up, but not too grown-up, and she seems like a fun person. She also has an astonishing face, it is almost perfect. She looks like a model." Yup. Spot on.
The boys of Franz Ferdinand have apologised to Rachel Stevens and fellow Scots rockers Simple Minds for grabbing the charts from under their noses. What's up with that?? Rachel admitted pop acts like herself are struggling to compete with a wave of Franz-inspired bands conquering the charts. Doesn't matter. Both are quality artistes with their own strengths. Franz new single, Walk Away - will be out on Dec 5th.
Is it really 180 days since Courtney Love was sent to drug rehab? Apparently, she's done her time and she's coming home, leaving the centre with the praise of Judge Rand Rubin ringing in her ears: "You're doing really well. I'm really pleased with the reports," Judge Rubin told Love on Friday. You See, Courtney? That's all it takes to stay clean - being locked up and surrounded by an entire staff of people dedicated to keeping you clean. Should be simple enough to stay out of trouble. Love is on probation for drug offences and attacking a woman with a bottle. She will have to submit to twice-weekly drug and alcohol tests and will be permitted to leave home only under certain circumstances, such as visits to the doctor or her probation officer.
Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly so afraid of germs she never lets anyone handle her child unless they have used special soap to rid themselves of dirt. A close friend of Gwyneth said: "She's always been pretty clean-obsessed, but recently it's reached a whole new level." Apple's mum is also obsessed with microscopic nasties she never uses public toilets, takes her own brush to the hairdressers and scrubs the bathrooms at hotels where she is staying before washing. All visitors have to take off their shoes before crossing the threshold and will be refused in hand shaking offers. (!!!!!) The actress' spokesman has confirmed Gwyneth allows no shoes in her home and says she was paranoid of unclean visitors when Apple was first born. When it comes to cleanliness, a rush of blood to the head seems to strike her. And this is all yellow...
Women usually complain about their weight, looks or maybe the lack of shoes/bags even though the storeroom can't accomodate hundreds of those items. For Charlotte Church, she hates her legs - because they look like vases. Crazy Chick is generally happy with her curvaceous figure but would like do something to make her legs look better. She confessed: "I have got nice shoulders and I like my boobs. My stomach is flat. But I hate my legs - they look like vases." Charlotte doesn't think she can diet to change the shape of her legs because she's a glutton! She added: "I smoke, I don't do exercise and because I'm happy I eat and eat." Don't think Gavin Henson has anything to complain about when it comes to his current squeeze.. A bit disturbing to see her dressing like some countryside aunt now and then. Maybe her nan likes it that way? Anyways, I'm totally into Charlotte-y's new song - Even God Can't Change The Past to be released on Dec 5th. Her strengths are usually highlighted in ballads. Fantastic vocals! Wonder what Cheryl thinks about it..
Speaking of which, a new war of words has erupted between Cheryl Tweedy and Charlotte Church, after the Voice of an Angel claimed she turned down 'Biology'. "I heard a rough demo and I did not think it was hit potential for me, it's ideal for the girls though," Church told a source. But Tweedy was quick to respond with: "Poppycock. She has never heard it, she is just worried that we will land yet another number one when she has not had one yet." It's getting heated up again. The pop world smiles.
If anyone thinks Crazy Frog song is the worst tune of the year...think again. That title should be engraved in stone and delivered to the B.E.P with the most horrible tune I've ever heard for a very long time. What is the philosophy of writing about her 'Hump'??
JBL : "I'm gonna teach that hair-lipped ORANG UTAN Chris Masters a lesson. Because I'm a wrestling..god!"
Christian : "I tell you what you are. You are a wrestling FROG!"
"Our next record is gonna be like Marc Bolan [on drugs] ... with Dr. Hook, you know what I mean?" Tom Meighan asked recently. He also added : "It's gonna be a sexier album with not as choppy as the first record. We're looking forward to it man, it's gonna be a good challenge for us."
Kasabian are not exactly moving on to the next record yet, however. First the band will release Stateside single Reason Is Treason, named after a quote Sergio Pizzorno read while recording. That particular quote is - "Ann Coulter says that no one, not even liberals, could be wrong on so many counts. She believes the only possible reason is treason."
The band is piecing together live footage for the "Reason Is Treason" video and release a concert album, Live From Brixton Academy, on their Web site. Once the new album is finished sometime next year, the L.S.F crew plan to spend even more time touring America than with their debut. They just love the Americanas.
Lindsay Lohan has been connned by some man pretending to be Jason Lewis (from sex & the city) by convincing her he was in love with her. He had been calling and emailing Lohan, pretending to be Lewis. She then invited the fake Lewis to a club last week and the phoney appeared. A spokeswoman for Lohan confirms the actress was "duped" but insisted she had no interest in stealing Rosario Dawson's boyfriend. That guy sure knows how to fake someone's voice quite well.
A New Jersey school district will pay $117,500 to a student who was punished for creating a website that included critical statements about his middle school. The settlement of the lawsuit brought nearly two years ago follows a decision by a federal judge ruling that Oceanport school administrators violated Ryan Dwyer's free speech rights. Dwyer created the website containing criticism of Maple Place School in April 2003, on his own time from his home computer. Comments posted on the site's "guest book" section angered school officials, who suspended Dwyer for a week, benched him from playing on the baseball team for a month, and barred him from going on his class trip, among other discipline. The district's lawsuit said anti-Semitic remarks were posted on the site, which Dwyer denied writing. "The school district has never - to this day - explained to us what rule or policy our son violated," said Kevin Dwyer, Ryan's father. Grayson Barber, who handled the case, said the school presented no evidence that Dwyer's comments were threatening or disruptive of school activities. "Our schools should encourage debate and political engagement rather than punishing students who provide a forum for free expression," Barber said.

Policy Of Truth
Kate Moss reportedly wants to quit modelling.. to become an actress! The supermodel has allegedly told friends she wants a fresh start. A source stated : "The month in the rehab centre gave her plenty of chances to think things over. She is aware that her modelling career cannot last forever. She believes that with some coaching she could do well in films. She's probably got enough money to never work again but she is keen to push herself." Maybe she made that decision during the recent rehab. Smart girl to think that modelling might not be a good long term career choice. But then, she should have enough moolah by now. I think the idea behind this was to make a fresh start. One of her friends said, "She believes that with some coaching she could do well in films."
Kate has already finished her first modeling job since out of the Arizona clinic and was praised for it by designer Roberto Cavalli. Not bad - Katy has finally stayed away from the crack. Now where is that missing Albion passport?
Johnny Depp, who once dated Moss, is angry about rumours that he confronted Pete Doherty and warned him to look after her - prior to her cocaine scandal. He said, "I never took Pete Doherty aside."
"I like him in that I like his music very much. I think he has a great talent and it seems to me that he and Kate could be great together, because she's a great girl." Aaah...he has great music taste.
Because she wants to please her mummy, Tara Reid curbed her wild partying during her 30th birthday. Miss Drunken antics was on her best behaviour at the lavish bash, held at top Los Angeles nightclub Mood, because her mum was watching her every move. One guest said: "She wasn't falling all over the tables like she sometimes does. It might have something to do with the fact that her mum was sitting there eagle-eyeing her all night."
Tara still managed to have a good time on the landmark date and at one point took to the stage to play drums with the hired band. A reveller said : "She was wild and swinging her hair back and forth and the crowd was really getting into it. She turned around to freakdance with some guy and a hand reached out and pulled her away. It was her mum." The interesting thing was that none of her celeb pals attended the party so the blonde slipped out of the bash to join her buddies, Paris Hilton and Leonardo DiCaprio, at a party at nearby club Privilege. A couple of days later, the Rok Bar in South Miami Beach, Florida witnessed another bash for Tara. This time she had a big chocolate cake and crazy firework sparkler things, which she promptly put in her mouth. Wearing a slinky silver top, she looked like she was having a blast quaffing from a huge bottle of pink stuff and boogying with her mates. Tigress..change..its spots?
Mr Chivalrous
So...just who is the sexiest man alive? Matthew McConaughey has been named "sexiest man alive" by People magazine. The magazine reported, "He's chivalrous, passionate and cooks a mean marinara."
"Now I've made it. Wait until you see the roles I could take after this. You're going to see my gut hanging over, plus 22 pounds. It'll be a whole new kind of sexy!" Matt refuses to fall out with ex-girlfriends and hopes they'll all invite him to their weddings. *heh* The Texan insists he's still in touch with all of his exes, including Sandra Bullock, and hopes to stay friends with them. He said, "I just don't know how to put Wite-Out (correcting fluid) over that period in my life. No one was lying during that time, it just didn't work out. So hopefully you're going to be inviting me to your wedding and I'm going to invite you to mine." Aaah..The Sahara dude should have no problems with that situation. Wedding invites..every guy/gal wishes for the same thing to happen me thinks. Anyways, he's worthy enough for that title.
Canadian-born country singer Shania Twain has received the Order of Canada, the country's highest honour. Canada's ceremonial head of state, Governor General Michaelle Jean, pinned the medal on Twain's lapel during the ceremony. The award citation noted her rise from poverty in small-town Timmins, Ontario to the pinnacle of the entertainment industry. "Today, she enjoys enormous success, yet she remains true to her roots." She has one of the best vocals around since I've discovered her back in 90s. At least three of her albums have topped the 10 million mark, with 1999's Come On Over reaching 20 million and placing her among music's elite. She's definitely not just a pretty face.

Kylie Minogue has been told by docs she's not be well enough to travel home for Christmas after all. Currently in Paris, Kylie had hoped to fly to Australia to be with her family. But doctors have told her she will have to wait until mid-January. A source said: "Kylie's last chemo session is on Dec 18 which doesn't leave much time before Christmas Day." She will now spend Xmas with Olivier Martinez. She plans to move in with him in the next month after her landlord decided to sell the flat she is currently renting.
The source said: "She's thrilled to be spending her last weeks in Paris at his home." When Kylie returns to Oz she will see her cancer doctor who will test her to see how successful her chemo has been. She will then start a gruelling six-week, daily course of radiation treatment. Only after that will doctors know if she has beaten the disease. Miss Kookacho will have Olivier to confide in, so its not that bad after all.
Tatu's new video 'Friend or Foe' is a little disappointing. Was expecting something more dramatic or interesting like their previous ones. (Low / Medium / High) Quality

This weekend is the one for Aguilera and her fiance, Jordan Bratman. They are to marry in a secret ceremony, which will be attended only by friends and family. Christina got engaged to music manager Jordan in Feb and their wedding picture rights are sold to People Mag for a rather small amount - 350,000 pounds, compared to the amounts netted by other celebrities. The pop superstar and her beau have booked out the exclusive Staglin Family Winery estate for the nuptials and plan to make the event a lavish celebration.
Aguilera will reportedly wear a gown designed for her by French fashion king Christian Lacroix and she will arrive at the ceremony in a white Rolls Royce Phantom. The couple will stage the rehearsal dinner at the Auberge Du Soleil resort, where they are staying as they prepare for their big day. The lovers are going to great lengths to keep the ceremony as private as possible - it will be staged in a tent on the edge of a forest. Congrats to her.
Paris Hilton is being ordered to give up her pet monkey - named Baby Luv - after illegally smuggling it across the state line. The sexy heiress picked up the exotic kinkajou - a rare relation of the racoon - on a recent trip to Las Vegas. The authorities are demanding she return it. A spokesman explained: "We'll send them a letter to let them know we're aware they have a restricted species". Baby Luv has attacked her while out shopping earlier this week. According to reports, the monkey bit Paris and clawed at her face as she entered Los Angeles designer boutique Agent Provocateur with the simian on her shoulder. Luckily, she managed to pull the monkey away before hooking Baby Luv's leash onto a cabinet so she could shop in peace. Paris then spent over US$400 on designer bras, panties and a kinky bullwhip. What the hell was she doing with a monkey??
Her current squeeze, Stavros Niarchos got struck by inspiration and realized that he "should have been home that day studying". "Instead I am here paying $100,000 worth of bills", said Stavros and dumped Paris.
So, after a month of true love, Paris Hilton and Stavros Niarchos have split up.
They were at Kelly Osbourne's birthday party at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel. Both lost control and started a pillow fight which lead to the hurling of furniture around the hotel. The sprinkling system somehow got activated which resulted in water cascading through the rooms. The hotel was subsequently evacuated. One witness said: "The carpet was coated with pillow feathers. Every lamp was broken. A maid told us they ruined every pillow in the room."
The 'accident' made Paris Hilton angry, as she was overheard saying to her boyfriend: "I don't want Hard Rock to think I bring in people who do this." Stavros also claimed that everything happened only because of her bad influence on him. He was left with a $100,000 damages bill. ZZZZZzzzzz...

Oasis are to celebrate the success of their live World tour this year, by releasing a compilation of live footage recorded during 2005. The DVD is entitled 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' and has been compiled by Baillie Walsh, a music producer who is also responsible for the promo video of the band's forthcoming single. As well as the DVD, Oasis have eight more live shows left to close 2005.
Arctic Monkeys will release a new single "When The Sun Goes Down" on Jan 16th. The still untitled debut LP should hit the shops a few weeks after but the date is not official. The band have also released "I Bet You Good On The Dancefloor" in the US. It will be released on a limited 10 inch on Nov 29th. They say it changes when the sun go down...which Elton would respond with - don't let the sun go down on me yeah...
The Hives have begun working on their new album and have pencilled in a release date sometime in autumn 2006. The new record will be the follow up to 04's 'Tyrannosaurus Hives' and the band have plenty of ideas for the new album. Howlin' Pelle Almqvist revealed : "It's so new. We haven't played any of the songs live yet, but there's some really good ideas floating around."
The Swedes have just come off the back of a tour of Japan and Australia and are eager to to get back into to the studio Almqvist says: "We're not too fond of time off, actually. We're in this band because we like being in it, and time away is good so you don't burn out, but I'll give it two weeks before we want to start working again."
Though there are no concrete details of the album so far. Almqvist added that they hope to take a new approach to this record, saying: "Because the last three albums have been done the same way, with the same guy just recording us. We want to get the songs in order first but then we'll do it some way different. We don't really know how yet, but we have some ideas about different producers or recording it in a different place." The world needs a supply and demand of another Abra Cadaver album soon. 2006 seems to be a good year..what with Strokes, Hives, Vines, Kasabian coming back with new sounds. Next best thing would be an announcement that the Obstacle 1 wizards are also in the studios.

Robbie Williams new video 'Advertising Space', imitating Elvis. To be released on Dec 12th.
Was humming 'the cheeky song' and I made a shocking discovery. The beats are incredibly similar to 'fakes tales of san francisco'!!!! Mr Turner is one cheeky fellow after all, eh?

Apply Some Pressure
Nicole Kidman has been spotted with country singer Keith Urban since July but hasn't acknowledged a relationship. She was seen wearing a ring on her wedding finger while walking arm-in-arm with Urban in Boston last Fri (Nov 11). While Kidman's rep didn't know anything about a proposal, Urban's rep said, "Right now it's just a rumor. When and if there's a statement we'll make that public." Still, by the looks of it, the fellow Aussies are in full-on romance mode, sharing cozy meals and trips to the countryside, including a stop near Urban's Nashville home. Kidman has also been a fixture on Urban's "Keith's Alive in '05" tour. A concertgoer observed that Kidman was "very attentive and didn't look away from the stage." Country singers are a lucky bunch nowadays, first it was Kenny Chesney who was in a brief marriage with Renee Z and now Nicole is smitten by an Aussie version. Maybe those reports about her being green while seeing thousands of Katie's stories in the papers are just false bewitched stuff.
Barry Manilow is back to full fitness following the heart condition that left him hospitalised, but the scare has traumatised him. The crooner suffered an atrial fibriliation that required surgery after falling ill at his home in Palm Springs, California, and admits his recovery and the period since has been "ups and downs". He said, "I had this heart thing. Not fun. It feels like you have a fish jumping around in your chest. But I'm done with that craziness. I'm fine. I'm in great shape." Bless the guy and his copacabana health. We can't smile without him.
Lately, some pricks are trying to get a little limelight by saying their meaningless opinions about Pete. Especially those sad jokers who loves to wear swimming costume attires with the chest & stomach areas being torn off. Well, nobody cares about their remarks. That rnb piece of shite guy can also do himself a favour by shutting his trap. He knows that Babyshambles are more musically talented than his boring songs about wanting to shag some stranger he just met in a bar.
Some press certainly has nothing interesting left to report that could continue capturing the readers' attention. So they decided to promote or diss some bloggers. Typically they will expose a 'pretty face' blogger to start the ball rolling for other peeps(usually the teens or very-free non-teens) to criticize or salivate/admire. Smart move anyways. Even educators who kept their own personal sexual escapades or shenanigans blogs are not spared. Come on. Let these peeps have their own life. It's like saying a teacher must have a saint lifestyle outside of their work. I always look forward to the forums sections about the 'thank yous' & complaints of any little matter. The best complaint recently has to be from a shocked local citizen who has noticed some youths wearing parody tee shirts with the "middle-finger signs/i-am-surrounded-by-idiots/skeleton-heads". That person wants the authorities to take note of this matter. All I can say to this is....WTF??? Ok thats done. The thank you sections are more incredible. Simple matters like a salesperson helping out to get a hard-to-find item after a few days or a kind man helping someone up who just had tripped over a stone are being published. It might be perceived by those new to the country that these tiny good-natured acts are few & far between in this fine city..
Gary Barlow refused to become embroiled in a war of words with his former bandmate Robbie, because he knew he couldn't compete with the solo star. After Robb quit the boyband in 95, he publicly attacked Barlow for the way he was treated when he was a member of the group. But, as Williams solo career went sky high, Barlow decided not to retaliate - despite his initial instinct - because his popularity was nothing compared to that enjoyed by Williams.
"When he started the war of words at first I wanted to retaliate. But I never called. My deal was I have had the same mobile number for 15 years - if he wanted to get in touch he could have done.
His career has got so big I'd never want to be him."
He added: "Especially when he's at Knebworth. I could never do that, I could never compete so I just kept my mouth shut." Oh yes, Mr Barlow. He ain't strong or supreme enough to be the better man.

50 Cent is keen to launch his own publishing house in order to give so-called 'street fiction' a higher profile. G-Unit Books is a collaboration with literary firm MTV/Pocket Books, who published the hip-hop star's memoir From Pieces To Weight. A spokesman promises the 2007 project will focus on the gritty themes covered in 50 Cent's music. He said: "These tales will tell the truth about The Life; the sex, guns and cash; the brutal highs and short lives of the players on the streets." Hmmm...many men will be patiently waiting for that book. Hope he don't focus too much about the power of the dollar. Would be better if he concentrates on writing about which celebs he wants to invite to his candy shop. Or some other window shopping ideas. Where is the much needed competition for ggggggg-G-Unit?

Liverpudlian art rockers The Dead 60s will release 'Ghostfaced Killer' on Nov 21st. The tunes are not bad. Just think 'The Specials' are their darkest best crossed with the pop sensibilties of Madness twirling their way through the urban landscape of modern Britain.

Kylie Minogue has asked for a TV special highlighting her Showgirl tour to be screened in her native Australia, after she was forced to scrap dates in the country earlier this year. Despite her ongoing battle with breast cancer, kind-hearted Minogue has now selected songs for an hour-long condensed concert special to show her disappointed fans. Frontier Touring boss Michael Gudinski said, "Kylie felt strongly that she wanted her fans to see at least part of the show. Even though the tour has been postponed and is yet to be rescheduled, she really felt that the fans deserved to see the full extent of it all. She was pretty insistent that it go on TV and I think for her to feel that strongly just shows what she's like and that she really has a very strong loyalty to fans." It's not just very strong. It's a question of plain obsession for the person inside.
Carmen Electra, Leslie Nielsen and Simon Rex have signed on for Dimension Films Scary Movie 4. Electra's character was killed off in the first Scary Movie, but she'll be back for a plotline that parodies The Village. Nielsen and Rex will reprise their roles from Scary Movie 3. Anna Faris and Regina Hall are already set to star as well. The fourth installment in the horror-spoof franchise will parody superhero movies. Anna Faris, who has appeared in all three Scary Movie installments to date, will reprise her character once again. David Zucker, who directed the third film, will return to helm this latest spoof, while the screenplay will be handled by Craig Mazin and Pat Proft. Can't wait for this to come out. Just thinking about the three previous movie titles is enough to make me snigger like some lunatic.

Excessive computer gaming has the hallmarks of addiction, suggests new experiments on "drug memory". The researchers argue it should be classified as such, enabling 'addicts' to start seeking help. Excessive computer game players showed classic signs of craving when they were presented with freeze-frames from some of their favourite games - they desperately wanted to play, expected to feel better once they did, and fully intended to indulge again as soon as possible. What makes it tougher is that gamers cannot simply abstain from using computers - they are now an integral part of our lives. In that sense, it has to be approached in the same way as an eating disorder, she suggests. And while not everyone agrees that computer games have the addictive potential of drugs, or even gambling, groups such as Online Gamers Anonymous and EverQuest Widows are overflowing with stories of people so wrapped up in slaying monsters that for days they neglect to eat, wash or sleep.
