Kate Moss reportedly wants to quit modelling.. to become an actress! The supermodel has allegedly told friends she wants a fresh start. A source stated : "The month in the rehab centre gave her plenty of chances to think things over. She is aware that her modelling career cannot last forever. She believes that with some coaching she could do well in films. She's probably got enough money to never work again but she is keen to push herself." Maybe she made that decision during the recent rehab. Smart girl to think that modelling might not be a good long term career choice. But then, she should have enough moolah by now. Canadian-born country singer Shania Twain has received the Order of Canada, the country's highest honour. Canada's ceremonial head of state, Governor General Michaelle Jean, pinned the medal on Twain's lapel during the ceremony. The award citation noted her rise from poverty in small-town Timmins, Ontario to the pinnacle of the entertainment industry. "Today, she enjoys enormous success, yet she remains true to her roots." She has one of the best vocals around since I've discovered her back in 90s. At least three of her albums have topped the 10 million mark, with 1999's Come On Over reaching 20 million and placing her among music's elite. She's definitely not just a pretty face.

Kylie Minogue has been told by docs she's not be well enough to travel home for Christmas after all. Currently in Paris, Kylie had hoped to fly to Australia to be with her family. But doctors have told her she will have to wait until mid-January. A source said: "Kylie's last chemo session is on Dec 18 which doesn't leave much time before Christmas Day." She will now spend Xmas with Olivier Martinez. She plans to move in with him in the next month after her landlord decided to sell the flat she is currently renting.
The source said: "She's thrilled to be spending her last weeks in Paris at his home." When Kylie returns to Oz she will see her cancer doctor who will test her to see how successful her chemo has been. She will then start a gruelling six-week, daily course of radiation treatment. Only after that will doctors know if she has beaten the disease. Miss Kookacho will have Olivier to confide in, so its not that bad after all.

This weekend is the one for Aguilera and her fiance, Jordan Bratman. They are to marry in a secret ceremony, which will be attended only by friends and family. The pop superstar and her beau have booked out the exclusive Staglin Family Winery estate for the nuptials and plan to make the event a lavish celebration.
Aguilera will reportedly wear a gown designed for her by French fashion king Christian Lacroix and she will arrive at the ceremony in a white Rolls Royce Phantom. The couple will stage the rehearsal dinner at the Auberge Du Soleil resort, where they are staying as they prepare for their big day. The lovers are going to great lengths to keep the ceremony as private as possible - it will be staged in a tent on the edge of a forest. Congrats to her.

Paris Hilton is being ordered to give up her pet monkey - named Baby Luv - after illegally smuggling it across the state line. The sexy heiress picked up the exotic kinkajou - a rare relation of the racoon - on a recent trip to Las Vegas. The authorities are demanding she return it. A spokesman explained: "We'll send them a letter to let them know we're aware they have a restricted species". Baby Luv has attacked her while out shopping earlier this week. Oasis are to celebrate the success of their live World tour this year, by releasing a compilation of live footage recorded during 2005. The DVD is entitled 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' and has been compiled by Baillie Walsh, a music producer who is also responsible for the promo video of the band's forthcoming single. As well as the DVD, Oasis have eight more live shows left to close 2005.

Arctic Monkeys will release a new single "When The Sun Goes Down" on Jan 16th. The still untitled debut LP should hit the shops a few weeks after but the date is not official. The band have also released "I Bet You Good On The Dancefloor" in the US. It will be released on a limited 10 inch on Nov 29th. They say it changes when the sun go down...which Elton would respond with - don't let the sun go down on me yeah...

The Hives have begun working on their new album and have pencilled in a release date sometime in autumn 2006. The new record will be the follow up to 04's 'Tyrannosaurus Hives' and the band have plenty of ideas for the new album. Howlin' Pelle Almqvist revealed : "It's so new. We haven't played any of the songs live yet, but there's some really good ideas floating around."
The Swedes have just come off the back of a tour of Japan and Australia and are eager to to get back into to the studio Almqvist says: "We're not too fond of time off, actually. We're in this band because we like being in it, and time away is good so you don't burn out, but I'll give it two weeks before we want to start working again."
Though there are no concrete details of the album so far. Almqvist added that they hope to take a new approach to this record, saying: "Because the last three albums have been done the same way, with the same guy just recording us. We want to get the songs in order first but then we'll do it some way different. We don't really know how yet, but we have some ideas about different producers or recording it in a different place." The world needs a supply and demand of another Abra Cadaver album soon. 2006 seems to be a good year..what with Strokes, Hives, Vines, Kasabian coming back with new sounds. Next best thing would be an announcement that the Obstacle 1 wizards are also in the studios.
