The Nurse

Howlin' Pelle Almqvist insists the band cannot perform properly without their trademark smart suits. Almqvist insists that his band will never play in anything but their favoured retro-fit suits, since seeing Norwegian band Turbonegro perform badly in casual clothes. He said, "I think it would affect the way we played. We played a show with Turbonegro during the summer and all their luggage had been lost at the airport. They played in their normal clothes and I believe the power of their performance was greatly diminished." In a way, he is right. For their type of music, special outfits need to be worn. Don't think it's a diabolic scheme. Just pure 'veni, vidi, vicious' fun punk avec Kaboom!

Another good Arctic Monkeys concert review:

"They follow it with the lead track from their debut single, the razor-sharp "Fake Tales Of San Francisco", an arch tirade against Strokes-inspired rock 'n' roll wannabes. The crowd bellows to both at a volume that wouldn't shame Anfield." Rotherham, yes?

"Alex Turner = a young Jake Gyllenhaal? They are plotting a course somewhere between The Jam, The Libertines and Blur. Spiky guitar parts are mixed with a funky, dance element and songs never sounding the same for longer than 30 seconds." Jake O.C.? Nah.

The End Has No End spoof video! Very creative work. Pity about the box though.

The White Stripes - Walking With A Ghost song is really suited for Jack's voice. I've heard this song before, probably from the NPR site; and the original version is from a band called Tegan and Sara.

Girls Aloud latest single 'Biology' looks to be a mixture of different types of sounds all moulded into one incredible package. The video could be better though. They've surely grown up since being in the underground.

Hilary Duff admires actress Natalie Portman for doing what few celebrities succeed at - keeping her personal life out of the spotlight. The singer, who hit the headlines when she began dating Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden(huh?? G.C.?? BAD choice) when she was just 16, hopes to follow in Portman's footsteps and focus on her career, without the complications that fame and fortune can bring. Duff said : "I hate the way everything you do ends up in the gossip columns. Natalie's unusual because she manages to keep her private life to herself. She's so talented and for her it's just about the work." Laugh it off let it go and..when you wake up it will seem..
so-oh yesterday, so-oh yesterday..

Samantha Mumba had everyone fooled at a Presidential reception when she turned up disguised as a nun. The singer posed as the nun at a party hosted by President Mary McAleese at Aras An Uachtarain for more than 150 Irish entertainers. The stunt was part of a television show Mumba is filming. TV presenter Hector O'hEochagain was among the celebrities fooled by her disguise at the star-studded party, which was also attended by Snow Patrol's lead singer Gary Lightbody and comedian Jason Byrne. A spokeswoman for the President confirmed that Mrs McAleese knew about the prank. Nice work there. Hmmm...television show? When?? I want a car, I want a car..

Kate Moss is ready to quit Britain for America - and a fresh start after her drug problems. The supermodel, who left rehab in Arizona this week, has drawn up plans for a permanent move. She has consulted experts about the tax implications - and looked at apartments in New York. A source revealed: "Kate has been badly shaken by events of the last couple of months. She will miss her family but she thinks it might be better to live away from Britain for a while." Kate is staying with friends in America after 30 days in drug therapy. She has a number of modelling assignments lined up in Los Angeles, New York and Paris over the next six weeks. Her family also understood to be keen to keep her away from Pete Doherty. The insider added: "The best way for her to avoid temptation is simply not to see him any more." The model will keep on her homes in North London and Gloucestershire. Her daughter Lila, three, is expected to move to America with her. Kate will return to the UK for Christmas. Too bad, Pete. At least he can spend more time with his 'gang of gin', for now.

Some cool Oasis videos in Frankfurt on 27th Oct 2005

Heart In A Cage video from Brasil. The guitar riffs sound like it's from the Nintendo Castlevania games of the 80s! Love it.

Has Liam ended his decade-long feud with Robbie?? Apparently, Liam admitted he likes this new single 'Tripping'. These two ex-buddies have famously criticised each other in the press since the mid 90s, but the rock n roll star has now had a change of heart when it comes to Williams' new song. He told MTV, "I think it's fookin amazing, actually. Really entertaining. I think it's the best one he's ever fookin done. It's top, man. Top tune." Any chance for a casual 'cigarettes & alcohol' catch up session soon?

Big brother Noel G has no intention of living a detached superstar existence like Elton John or George Michael *goosebumps*, despite his enduring fame. He is determined to live a normal life in London and refuses to allow starstruck fans to alter the way he conducts himself everyday. He said: "It's a bit weird going to the supermarket (sometimes) you kind of freak people out when you've got four bags of shopping. But you've got to have a real life because if you don't, you end up like Elton John or George Michael. Can you imagine George Michael buying toothpaste and a toothbrush and a newspaper or some lemons? Ordinary people are determined to make you feel bad, though. You'll be in the queue at the supermarket with a pint of milk, some bread and a newspaper and someone will say: 'What you doing here?'"
"I turn around and say: 'Fook off, I'm doing my fookin shopping like you are.'" Although he is born on a different cloud, it doesn't mean he can't pick up shopping mall items with his mucky fingers, eh?

50 Cent wants to buy Interscope Records because he claims he generates most of the labels income. The rapper has branched out into a range of business interests since achieving musical success, and he now dreams of owning the company which distributes his work. He said, "I'd really like to be able to afford Interscope Records. I'm making 70 per cent of the black music at Interscope, and I'm growing. If I keep the pace I'm at now for the next three years, eventually I'll own it. Once you make the right offer, everything is for sale." Sooo, Fiddy has been 'patiently waiting' for the right moment to arrive it seems. Time to forget about Dre?

Finnish people are sure to be up in arms over this controversial new copyright legislation based on European Union's Copyright Direction (EUCD).

"Previously, copying for own personal use (whether you owned the CD/DVD/book/whatever) was perfectly legal and the authors were compensated by blank media levy. Now, the blank media levy will remain in place, but at least the following things will change: ...."

"So, basically - buy a portable MP3 player and a copy-protected CD. And you can't copy the music from the CD to your MP3 player legally any more, as you'd break law if you circumvent the copy protection mechanism found on CD." (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Pure bollocks.
