Waiting Game
Paris Hilton's TV show 'The Simple Life' has been axed. The socialite starred in the hit programme with former best friend Nicole Richie but now bosses at the Fox network have pulled the plug on a third series. The company has blamed a crammed schedule on the decision, and have already announced they will replace it with a new run of Simon Cowell's TV talent show 'American Idol Stateside'. Rumours are rife Fox decided to axe the show - in which Paris and Nicole were forced to get jobs - because the pair could not end their long-running feud. The glamorous pair reportedly fell out after Nicole showed Paris' infamous sex tape, 'One Night In Paris', at a party to the pair's friends. Bosses of the show initially wanted to film the pair separately as they made their respective wedding plans. But now Paris has dumped her Greek shipping heir fiance Paris Latsis, Fox decided their was no future for the show. Not so much fun since both of them are not good buddies anymore. Will miss the country song jingle and their ridiculous antics.
Charlize Theron was "spanked" and "whipped" so hard by her mother as a child she got welts on her thighs. The actress admits she was severely disciplined and often physically punished for bad behaviour while she was growing up. She said: "God, I was spanked. I was more than spanked - I was whipped." Once she got hit so hard with a metal coat hanger - for spilling soup on her school uniform - she was left with sores on her thighs. Tough upbringing eyy?
Noel G has recently declared that he's not impressed at all by both the current British music and the young emerging bands, branding it all as 'boring'. He was surprised by the awards his band has received at the Q Awards ceremony, for Best Album and The People's Choice Award, because he truly believes the young bands should have won. The singer added that he's disappointed in them and that the future of British music is not as bright as he expected.
Noel said: "What does it say about the state of music today that it's left to us to dominate these events? I'm 38. I shouldn't really be here. It's embarrassing. Where are all the 21-year-olds? Where's the next Liam Gallagher? Oasis have been going for 15 years and we shouldn't be getting all the awards today. There should be young bands coming through. There has been nothing to challenge Oasis at all. Remember what it was like in 1994 when we came on the scene? It was a movement that swept the country. There has been nothing like that since and I think that is pretty bad. The album charts at the moment are really boring and bland."
Very true. Can't name any bands worthy of the 'supersonic' status. Might have to wait till Noel and gang are on a 'rockin chair' it seems.
Alex Kapranos cited 70's glam rockers Queen as a major influence on the new release. He said, "I've loved Queen ever since I was young. I think there's a Queen influence on the new record - especially their rhythm section. Roger Taylor and John Deacon were masterful. The bass line to Another One Bites The Dust is brilliant. I think Freddie Mercury is the ultimate showman. He really inspires me when I perform." Another franz bites the dust.. That explains the uber-tight stage outfits.
Green Day are to release a CD/DVD pack from their mammoth Milton Keynes shows earlier this year. "Bullet in a Bible" will be released on November 14. Watch the preview here.
Interpol - Slow Hands
Misheard Lyrics:
Eat pies, with no hands.
Original Lyrics:
We spies, we slow hands.
Jenny Frost admits she hates the gym and dieting so much she's had to find a cheat's way of making sure she looks good. One of her secrets, she says, is dance classes. "Dancing is great. It's the secret exercise because you don't feel like you're working out, but you are." Jenny goes to street-dancing classes three times a week to keep her size-eight figure in shape. While she doesn't need to lose any weight, she says the one-hour classes are the perfect way to stay fit and to get definition back in her legs and arms. Jenny has also recently taken up kick-boxing. 'Villa Wellness' peeps may want to take note.
On top of her singing, Jenny has also been signed up by modelling agency Premier, who also have Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford on their books. But despite her svelte 5ft 8in-frame, Jenny still has body hang-ups. She has been engaged to DJ Dominic Thrupp, 41, since Christmas 2003, but there are no plans for the big day. "Dom and I want kids together and it's something we've discussed at length but we're going to wait until we're ready, probably in a couple of years," she says. That uncle is one lucky bastard to have a frost-y 'eternal flame' for life.
Jenny Frost - Crash Landing video
Her first solo single; released on 10th October. Not too sure whether the imitation style from Kylie's 'Your Disco Needs You' video is well suited for her. At least it's much better than Lisa Scott Lee's Electric.
Eminem is cleaning out his closet and releasing a greatest hits album, a move that is sure to further enflame the rumor mill about his impending retirement or decision to take to a long break from music. Mr Slim Shady plans to release 'Curtain Call', a best of album, on December 6, including at least two new songs. It is reckoned to be his last. A source revealed : "It's one last album, celebrating all his big songs and then he's going undercover." It will include two new tracks - which will be the last material Marshall Mathers ever record under the name Eminem.
On Taste In Men
Abi Titmuss : "You know, Danny DeVito could pull me if he made me laugh, was confident and a bit sexy."
Kelly Brook : "I like old-fashioned romance - you can't beat a real gent. It's the small things that make a difference - someone holding open a car door, things like that. I don't like people who help themselves and not you."
Keira Knightley : "I'd go for someone who is a little bit brooding, who will always keep you guessing and make you laugh. And he has to have good shoes."
Geri Halliwell : "I don't think a six-pack is on the menu, but I like someone who is physical and who can charge around as much as me. But I don't mind if he has a bit of a belly on him."
Denise Richards is still waiting for her husband Charlie Sheen to give her a formal public apology for his part in their marital woes. During an interview with David Letterman last month, Sheen admitted that his separation from his wife was the result of his being a "gigantic ass". But Richards, who filed for divorce from the actor earlier this year, is keen to shoot down the general perception that Sheen's statement was a public apology. She said, "Well, it wasn't an apology, per se. He just said he was a gigantic ass. He didn't say, 'I apologise.' I'm still waiting for the public apology. Everyone keeps saying he apologised, but I don't recall an 'I'm sorry' in there."
She added, "It does seem like we're together, but right now we're focusing on the kids."
In recent weeks, Sheen has disclosed that he and Richards are working on a reconciliation. Both should just forgive and forget. Do it for the kids.
What do you get when you mix the hip-hop groove of The Beastie Boys and the funk of All Saints?
Answer : Northern State. The three-woman wrecking hip-hop-centric crew from New Yoork was formed in 2000. Slick in checking rhymes, Northern State made their stage debut at Luna's Lounge in April 2001. Was astonished that this group understood what cool hip-hop should sound like. Must invest time to check them out.
Futureheads - Decent Days & Nights ////
Green Day fans who are familiar with their earlier albums, this song from the futureheads reminds me of a lost track from 'Insomniac'. Scottish slang on a GD song? Very weird but it's nice.
The Prodigy - Voodoo People ////
This is a mind-blowing new single from the Spitfire gang, to be released on October 17. It spoofs a reality tv show(amazing race) whereby blindfolded contestants ran around throughout the whole song to reach an end point. Brilliant idea to represent the song title. What people would do for a top prize..
