Courtney Love celebrated her 43rd birthday by reportedly getting drunk and "wildly" wrecking her five-star London hotel room. She had a drinking session with comedian Noel Fielding before returning to her suite and causing hundreds of dollars worth of damage. A source explained: "The room was left in a right state - like a wild animal had been let loose in there. There were cigarette butts strewn about and burn marks all over the bed, carpet and upholstery." Earlier, Love showcased eleven new songs at an intimate show in Bush Hall. Her spokesman claimed the damage was caused by a friend "leaning on a table". They should close one eye over this. It's her special day after all.

Jessica Simpson fled her birthday party to escape some unwelcome gatecrashers. She celebrated her 27th birthday at the beach with five friends followed by lunch at Malibu's Silver Spoon Beach House on Tuesday. [Jess-Bday] However, after paparazzi found out about it, more than a dozen photographers surrounded the restaurant. The birthday girl was unwilling to put up with the intrusion and thus cut the party short. A source told E! Online: "She couldn't deal with it. She kept saying she didn't want her friends to go through that. So, they stayed inside and then just left." On Monday, Jessica got an early birthday surprise when greeted by a SUV car covered in 'Happy Birthday' decorations.

Charlotte Church is facing life as a single mother? The pregnant TV host has reportedly kicked out her fiance because of his wandering eye towards a Northern Irish sales adviser called Tracey Donnelly. This news was angrily denied by Church and she plans to file an official complaint against the perpetrator. Several British newspapers reported on Tuesday that Church had thrown Henson out of their Wales home after reading revelations linking him. However, Henson's agent Peter Underhill says: "They are still very much together and it's absolute rubbish to say they have split up." Don't think the rugby guy would dare to do anything foolish at this stage.

Kate Nash has branded the media "sexist" for constantly comparing her to Lily Allen. The Londoner lavished praise on Allen for helping her to get ahead in the music industry, but urged people to let the connection go. Discussing the comparisons, she told NME: "It's frustrating for both of us - we've talked about it and it's frustrating as f**k. What's more, it's sexism. It's like, there's enough room for as many boys in indie bands as you like, but there can only be two young, London-born girls? What absolute nonsense." Victim of the times.

Russell Crowe has pulled out of an upcoming war movie after "negotiations broke down" with production staff. The star was due to appear in the movie about New Zealand's greatest war hero, Charles Upham, but has since turned the part down. It is believed Crowe pulled out of the project following intense media interest. Matt Walsh says, "Russell Crowe is not interested because of the publicity that came out. Media coverage led him to walk away from the project." Walsh is now looking for a replacement for Crowe and is in talks with agents for Heath Ledger and Ralph Fiennes.

JJ Abrams has a new movie coming out. The trouble is, it hasn't got a name yet! [11808-Trailer] It's a monster movie, told from the perspective of a small group of people fleeing a beast which attacks New York. It's thought that the film will be similar in tone to 'War of The Worlds' and is generally known as 'Cloverfield'. Fans have come to call it '1-18-08' after the release date advertised at the end of the trailer. The teaser features a home video of a farewell party, which is interrupted when the electrics go out. The man with the camera then runs out to the street with other partygoers, to see New York being destroyed and people crying 'what is it? What is it doing?'. The onlookers then run away as the skyline of New York explodes and the head of The Statue of Liberty falls onto the street floor. The film is produced by Abrams, and directed by Matt Reeves. An 18th January 2008 release is planned.
