Almost Lover
Meg Ryan and Matthew Perry are reportedly enjoying a secret romance. Sources reveal that the two stars have been spending a lot of time in each others company lately, with their friendship taking a romantic turn about five months back. An insider tells the publication, "Neither knows where it's going, but they love being together and are having fun." Still going strong?
Evan Rachel Wood denied she was the reason behind MM's split from Dita Von Teese, insisting she is not a homewrecker. The 19-year-old star hooked up with MM earlier this year, shortly after his marriage broke down. However, the divorce papers filed by Von Teese cites his "inappropriate relationship" with another woman as her motive for divorce. Wood says, "I've been called a slut, a whore, that say I should be condemned to death simply because I've fallen in love. Surely the fact that we are both prepared to go through all this proves just how real our love is, no? I've never been more comfortable in my own skin." Le sigh.

Elisha Cuthbert, who came close to being seriously injured or even killed on a recent visit to New York City, is seeking cinematic superpowers. The Canadian star walked into a busy street and just as she was about to be hit by a passing Mercedes-Benz she leaped onto the hood. It sent her flying and "landing on her butt" in the middle of the intersection. At the time, Elisha thought she might die. "'Am I dead? No I'm not dead. Do I have any bones broken? No," she recounted. Maybe from that incident she now wants a role in a superhero movie in part to demonstrate her toughness.
Michelle Rodriguez is launching her own clothing line. She plans to create a fashion line named Ishkadada which will be inspired by world cultures. Michelle will travel to a dozen countries, including China and Brazil, to "study people, social classes, history, culture". She told TV show 'It's Midday in China': "The company that I want to start should be ethnic. I think there is a growing awareness and people are opening their eyes about the world and the environment." Ana-Lucia is a keen follower of the fashion industry. Made for non-straight peeps as well?

Lily Allen has denied rumours that she has a big entourage to do her every bidding while on tour. In Lily Allen: Still Alright?, a new documentary, she says she only has two members of staff - an assistant who shares her hotel rooms and a guitar teacher. She also plans to quit the music business in a few years. "It's not going to last forever and in three years or five years time. I'll be be living in London looking for another job. It is about being a singer and a songwriter. I don't want to be a pop star." Just another phase of life yah?
Geri Halliwell is reportedly romancing some Russian heir called Evgeny Lebedev. Not much is known about him except that he's apparently the 26-year-old son of billionaire academic Alexander Lebedev. The couple, who met through their mutual friend, Roman Abramovich, attended this week's Serpentine Gallery summer party in London together. A fellow guest said: "They looked very much together all night and were whispering in each other's ears. Geri seemed totally besotted with him and and it looked like the feeling was very much mutual." Interesting.
Popworld host Alexa Chung has no interest in Alex Turner. The presenter was reportedly spotted flirting with the Monkey's frontman at T In The Park last weekend. However, pals have denied the story and revealed that she is dating Lostprophets Ian Watkins. A source close to Alexa said: "They've been close for months now. He's in the US a lot because his band is pretty big out there, but they really like each other." A spokesman for Ian confirmed: "They've been seeing each other for about a year. They're just having fun and they are really close." So who exactly is the balaclava lady for Turner?
New Indie Tunes:

>> New Young Pony Club - Tight Fit [mp3]
>> Fury of the Headteachers - Fables [mp3]
Klaxon's B-side track sounds exceptionally good in their own style. New, long-delayed Metric album has this gem of song that is quite refreshing. Best song from long time favourite NYPC has to be the last track and lastly following the 'Foals' cool dancy-casio beats is this Fury band that oozes swagger.
Spectacles belonging to John Lennon are expected to fetch $2 million at an online auction. The prized items went on sale on Thursday (12 Jul) on music memorabilia website www.991.com.The last pair of Lennon's glasses sold in 2002 are insured for $2 million. He gave a pair of gold rimmed glasses to Japanese translator Junishi Yore during the band's 1966 tour of Japan. The glasses come without the lenses as Yore took them out as a sign of respect when he heard of the 1980 tragic incident - as tradition dictates in Japan. The glasses come with a note from Yore, which reads, "He (Lennon) gave me this ... very nice man. Lenses removed". The auction closes at the end of this month.
