Ocean City Girl

Gotta agree with 'em. Travis fans are a bit hacked off with the band's silence over their long-awaited new album. The Glasgow group's first studio album in three years had been expected to hit stores this year. But, with the exception of a few messages to fans from singer Fran Healy earlier in the year, there's been little of late to hearten Travis fans hungry for new music. The band's official website (www.travisonline.com) even went down recently. What's going on boys?

Liam Gallagher says that Oasis are set to hit the studio this month to start work on a new album. He told Uncut magazin: "I reckon we're going to start doing something this month, go to our studio. It's the bollocks. Fuckin' old Tudor ranch in High Wycombe, fucking stay there and get it done. Just got to wait for Noel to finish his tunes I suppose." Yay. Hungry for more rockarolla.

Pete Doherty = Next top model? Babyshambles has planned for special gig to launch a new gear. Pete has inspired a fashion line by clothes label Gio-Goi and is set to launch the label's Rock'N'Roll spring/summer 07 collection at a secret gig in London next month. It will be available at London's Selfridges store from December 7 before going nationwide in January 2007. Also, Capitol Records will release a new EP from the band later this year. The five-song set is titled 'The Blinding'. That would be sweet. Pete was reportedly reluctant to be social with Kate's mum, Linda at a recent party. With that, he might just have lost a potential Gio-Goi customer.

The man who has been stalking Hilary Duff has finally been arrested. Maksim Miakovsky, an 18 year old Russian, was charged with making criminal threats and stalking. Duff has previously attempted to get a restraining order against Miakovsky saying that he "has stated his intention of 'removing' his 'enemies' (those who prevent him from being with her), has stated his intention of purchasing a weapon, and has threatened to kill himself and to engage in dramatic actions to get her attention." A P.I made contact with him last Friday at a motel where Miakovsky told of his intention to kill Duff at a Sunday event she was scheduled to be attending. Man.. this guy is one wacko. Wonder if lil sis Duff has the same problems with weird characters on the streets.

Natasha Bedingfield's new album will be out next year. The first single, out in March 2007, is entitled Babies. Other tracks included Pirate Bones, Soulmate, How Do You Do?, Say It Again and Backyard. Check out a rundown of the tracks here - [Nat-B-tracks]

Russell Crowe is suggesting that Americans overreacted to his phone-tossing incident in a New York hotel last year. Everyone knows about his bad temper, but the actor says it just comes with the territory and that sometimes his acting out in violence is to be expected. Oh really? Crowe recently threw a tantrum at a classy London restaurant because his $4,500 bottle of wine had gone off. While dining at Marco Pierre White's Mirabelle eatery, he sent back the wine saying it had been in contact with a contaminated cork during the aging process. Crowe said, "I ordered a bottle of Penfolds Grange Hermitage 1964, bottled the year I was born. It is an Australian wine that I have had a lot of experience with, so when it was opened and brought to the table I could smell from two foot away that it had been corked." He added, "The waiter spent about 45 minutes trying to convince us that it was the chestnut undertones and the wafts of blackberry but eventually replaced it. Very nice it was too." That poor dude must have thought about not wanting to visit a nearby clinic by then.

As they reach the final stages, Furonda felt that being in bottom two last week puts her in a vulnerable position. Sara needed to fake some confidence in front of the camera/judges to progress futher. Jade told Joenie that she could be demanding sometimes and Joenie felt Jade was not a good person. Jade don't think Joenie has the 'model' look. "You will find yourself in a strange position tomorrow." Furonda felt very stressed in the van. All were taught Thai classical dance. Furonda had some difficulties, Danielle became sick and was sent to the hospital. Joenie and Jade argued for a while about Jade not wanting to change her attitude. Afterwards, without Danielle, the rest were asked to perform what they had learned in front of four Thai judges together with a big audience. Jade executed it with worried eyes and didn't smile all throughout. Joenie was fantastic, poised and elegant. Sara was bit weird and lack confidence. But the heroine of the day was Furonda. What the bloody hell was she dancing (club, hula) instead of Thai at which the crowd enjoyed. Joenie won the challenge and brought Sara along for a dinner session with the Thai Elle director. Joenie wants to put the warrior head statue that she won near Jade to show who is the better competitor. "Dump your bikinis, you're working it out with trunks". Danielle joined them for the photoshoot even in her weakened state. Elephants! All will be posing with an elephant in the middle of the jungle. Pongsak was their photographer. Danielle was incredible like a pro; great body language. Sara kept learning about others' poses. Jade was not natural and looked stiff. Furonda kept extending her jaw and after being told off, the last shot was genius. Joenie did a different style standing on an outstretched elephant leg and then touching the trunk with her hand while in a prone position. Sara wanted to copy Joenie but didn't execute it as well.. not impressive. Back at the hotel, Jade felt she was a threat to the rest & Sara didn't feel good about her chances. Judging test - They were asked to potray some body expressions without showing the face as a Thai mask will be worn. First emotion - Sensuality, then Despair and Compassion. Furonda had great spirit for the test, good photoshot. Sara nailed all emotions but wasn't model style and judges were not impressed about her copying Joenie. Awkward photoshot for Jade and didn't do well for the test. Joenie's emotions were average and got congratulated for being the challenge winner for Thai dance, together with a fabulous photoshot. Danielle did good for the test and had a great photoshot even though being sick. After some discussion, first name to be called.. Joenie! Then Sara and Danielle. Last two standing were Jade & Furonda. One had a great personality, but didn't quite get it. The other only wants to do things her own way, marched to her own drum, etc. Joenie/Sara got the 'oh my god' looks as the last name called was Jade. Out came the catwalk moves from Furonda as she exited the judging room to the surprise of everyone. Only four remained.

Brilliant Stuff:

1) Margaret Berger - Lifetime Guarantee
2) Boy Kill Boy - Shoot Me Down
3) The Fratellis - For The Girl (live)
4) Sunshine Underground - Commercial Breakdown

Margaret is back with a cute video set in a hospital with an interesting ending. BKB new single for War Child has a nice sad drama about it. Scots powergroup The Fratellis recent gig contains a sing-along session in the middle part of FTG which makes those peeps not there feel green. Another new indie Sunshine gang jammed out this incredible CB song with their enthusiastic fans.

This old man doesn't want to get married. Currently living a splendid life with his girlfriend - Simon Cowell said in a recent interview that he's vowed to never marry because he's scared he will suffer the same fate as Paul McCartney. Hahaha.. As famous as the band? Simon has been with Terri Seymour for about four year and told the Mirror, "Marriage is not for me. It just feels really out of date. Ask Paul McCartney what he thinks about marriage right now." He added, "I must stress that Terri is not Heather Mills - thank God!" And there are no plans to have kids either because he admitted about being too old.. Guess he is just afraid of losing face if Terri ever did a "Heather" on him.

Growing up, Anne Hathaway wanted to be just like one of Hollywood's leading female actresses. She revealed that Julia Roberts was her biggest idol as a child and continues to amaze her still. Anne said, "Julia is just phenomenal. It's funny because for a long time I wanted to be Julia Roberts, and then I realized what makes her so great is that she's totally inimitable. So I realized I'm just going to be myself and fall short." Landing a role in B.M was the best career choice she ever made. She said, "To be able to do a film like that to break people's preconceptions of me was really lucky. It was the best thing I could have done." Kudos to her for moving in the right direction. And staying respectable as well.
