Lipstick Licking

Hoping for a Libertines' reunion? Not a chance, according to Gary Powell. He has ruled out reuniting with troubled rocker Pete to revive the band, revealing they don't even keep in touch. The drummer, a DPT member, is disgusted by the current explosion of pop comebacks in the UK, and is adamant it will never happen to his former rock outfit. Powell said: "Absolutely not. There's no way. I don't even talk to Pete anymore. Even if I had seven kids in a few years time and desperately needed the money, I wouldn't do it. From the point of view of fans, I don't understand why they would want to spend all that money seeing old bands when there's so much new music out there." Probably because some oldies are still of higher quality? He does sound unhappy about this whole comeback stuff. Popsters ain't a pretty thing to him.

Another angry soul out there is this rapper called The Game. He has reignited his long-running feud with 50 Cent by launching a stinging attack on his rival. The Game has claimed he has left Cent and his G-Unit crew "dead" after bursting onto the scene himself. He tells MTV News, "When he looks at himself in the mirror at home he probably drops tears 'cos no matter what he does I'm flat out better than him. G-Unit is dead as a brand. People just aren't into wearing their stuff anymore because I came out and dismantled their whole crew, record label and a group." What in the world is he blabbering about? G-Unit lives and breathes forever.

LOST Season 3 Ep 2 - "The Glass Ballerina"
This is a Sun/Jin-centric episode where we learned that Sun ain't no angel. When she was a kid, her temperamental dad saw through the scheming character his daughter possessed when Sun refused to admit her fault at breaking the ballerina item. Even with him firing the maid, it doesn't flinch her one bit. Back to present scene: Sayid, Jin and Sun discovered Pala Ferry. In a horrible plan to ambush the enemies, Sayid decided to create a big campfire to lure them in. But the main idea for the others were to bring back Desmond's sailboat. Reason? Because Ben told Colleen, "I WANT that boat." *insert creepy music* This Colleen is a new character in the show who is a rank below Ben/Juliet in their hierarchy. The way she and Juliet communicate to each other indicates a rocky past where Ben might have been part of it. And she might have a romantic relt with Danny Pickett who told her to be careful during the sailboat capture mission. This Danny is in charge of some labour work where he ordered Sawyer and Kate to join in. While Kate was chopping wood, out pops Alex from the bush nearby and secretly asked about Carl (that young dude caged opposite Sawyer in Ep1) and confused Kate who don't have a clue who he was. Sawyer was in 'Bart Simpson' mode all throughout towards Danny ("Yes boss!", "I got a question!", "How dare you?"). At one point, while looking at a hapless Kate, Sawyer came towards her and smacks a totally unexpected long kiss. Woooo! And after being pulled away by The Others, he snatched a rifle and pointed towards the rest. But Juliet, who tried to flirt with Sawyer a while earlier, simply got Kate at gun point which was enough to stop Sawyer's plan. What the hell is wrong with Kate? This was not the gung-ho Kate who could take on tougher men and free herself from dangerous situations. Must be what Ben have told her during their seaside breakfast that the writers have kept secret since. Back to Sun flashback. She was seen in bed with baldie Jae Lee and told him she couldn't continue this. Interestingly, her father barges into the hotel room a short while later and saw something that shamed him. So he ordered Jin to "take care" of Jae Lee without actually mentioning what he did to his daughter. But Jin spared his life and told him to get out of the country. Still, that fool jumped off from his apartment down afterwards onto Jin's car with Jin just waiting to open the car door. And Jae Lee was holding a pearl necklace that Sun refused to accept earlier. Is he the biological father of Sun's unborn child? When Sun was in the sailboat alone, she was ambushed by The Others. Colleen told her they were the good guys and that Sun won't shoot her. Wrong. Sun fired a shot at her. Most likely to be cured after they reach back to Otherville. Sun escaped by jumping into the sea and saved by Jin. Sayid told them in the middle of the night that it is time to go back to their camp. Will they meet up with Hurley along the way? Back to the Hydra. Ben was in this room where he can see and hear on multiple screens showing the Otherville camp areas including Sawyer/Kate cage site. Ben then went into the cell and officially introduced himself as "Benjamin Linus" to a drained looking Jack but was refused the handshake. What happened next is yet another crucial part of the show. Ben told him important details such as the date when the plane crashed to what has been happening back in USA. Quite perplexing why the need for him to mention the year "2004". Is it because time is irrelevant on the island? How did he get the info about the re-election of the president, christopher reeves death and red sox winning world series? It might just be from the Dharma team and packaged-dropped from the sky together with a VCR tape of red sox final winning scenes. Watching the tape from across the glass panel, Ben played into Jack's mind -> "That's home, Jack. Right there on the other side of that glass." Notice how Ben don't seem to care much about those info he knew. He also mentioned that he lived on the island all his life. But was he born there? And Ben wants Jack to help him ("you have to change your perspective") when the time comes if Jack wants to go back home. Red Sox and Jack. Too much of a coincidence. What is it that Jack possessed which could be of a major help to Ben and his clan? And will Jack leave his suffering island friends when Ben finally send him home?

UK Vogue has confirmed that Demi Moore has been signed as the new face for L'Oreal. She is already working on the new ads in London. The L'Oreal-owned brand follows Versace in signing the actress, who will star alongside Kevin Costner and William Hurt in the forthcoming Mr Brooks, and she is currently thought to be shooting the ads in the UK. "She has this charisma, a life that a lot of women aspire to," said Patricia Turck Paquelier, international brand president. Maybe the single mums of this world hoping to find their 'Ashton' can turn to this product. Yeah, right.

Hilary Duff says she fears for her life after being stalked by two men for the last six weeks. And so she is now attempting to get a restraining order. The two men are claimed to be a 19 year old Russian immigrant known only as Max and his roommate David Joseph Klein who claims to be a celebrity photograpgher. Those two has repeatedly showed up at the Duff's mother's house and tried to make contact through her manager. The pair also showed up at a venue where Joel Madden played with his Good Charlotte last month. Max is said to be willing to kill himself in order to get her attention and says he believes they belong together. A court hearing is due to start on November 15. Looks like her case is worse than La Lohan who only have daily troubles with photo snappers.

Milburn - Well Well Well [amazon]
Ever since I've heard about Milburn earlier this year, they have slowly built up a reputation to be Sheffield "cousins" of Arctic Monkeys. With the release of their debut album, Well Well Well, there can't be any arguments about these indie new boys planning to invade the big pond of success. Spiky guitar tunes, majestic drumming patterns, catchy repetitive lyrics are all part of the package. Many might have heard "Send In The Boys" & "Storm In A Teacup" before, while album title track has the swagger to grab your ears and drill in all the goodness there is. "Stockholm Syndrome" is not a remake of Muse Absolution track but it can be the reflective version of "Perhaps Vampires.." where potential stadium shout-out line "you only see what they want you to see" adds more vibe into the energetic number. Personal favourite would be "Showroom" [mp3] which has a detective 'the professionals' kind of guitar noises ringing all throughout with unforgettable "the book that you're reading is upside down" lines one would mentally register once and singing along over and over again. Album closer "Roll Out The Barrell" follows the Kooks-type of a slow number that is impressive as well with a mini-'hey jude' ending. Expect to hear more from these boys when the world starts noticing in the coming months.
