Treaty Of Versailles

Pierce Brosnan looks set to follow in the footsteps of Sean Connery by teaming up with movie mogul Kevin McClory for a rival 007 film. Brosnan is the favourite to play the superspy in Never Say Never Again producer McClory's new movie, which is set to compete with an upcoming Bond film. McClory, who owns the rights to '65 Thunderball, remade that film as Never Say Never Again in the early 80s, and now he plans to have yet another go at the Bond film - with Brosnan as a returning 007. Now that is what the fans really want. Resurrection of Pierce at last.

Ok. So Johnny Depp won't act in the INXS biopic. Depp-y has rubbished reports he plans to play the lead singer of that band in 'Slide Away'. Even if he were offered the part, Depp - who knew nothing about the project until he read it in the press - insists he isn't glamorous enough to play the Aussie singer. Depp says: "No one ever approached me about it. I don't think I'd be the guy to play Michael. I knew him pretty well. He was pretty broad, Michael. He was kind of a glam guy. He was like a god, like a shaman, so I don't think I'd be the guy." Not much of a difference between the two, except for their careers and Depp being much sexier.

Miss Kylie Minogue is not happy about something. Like most people, I was led to believe she is going to tie the knot twice later this year but....in her website, Kylie had denied all those stories. She has appealed to the world's media to stop reporting she is engaged or marrying her boyfriend Olivier Martinez. Although she has been dating the French actor for three years, Kylie insists she isn't rushing down the aisle. Writing on her website, she blasts: "The marriage, proposal and denials rumours.... Stoppppppp!" Alright then.

I assume Kate Moss won't be seen hanging out with Avril Lavigne for the foreseeable future... The Complicated girl has given her opinion of celebrities who take drugs; having a strong dislike for illegal substances of all kinds, and remains adamant she never used them herself: "I'm proud to say that I do not do drugs. I'm against them 100 per cent - and I don't hang out with people who do drugs." Avril is also determined to make a success out of her acting career: "That's how I go about things. I do what I do and take the steps I'm going to take and I don't worry about other people. I don't think anyone should go through life that way." Would be interesting if she does 'Mean Girls' type of movies in the future. Guess there won't be anymore punk-pop albums, then?

La Lohan on the set of 'Georgia Rule'. She has turned 20 yesterday! Teen no more.

The "special character" from the front cover of Thom Yorke's The Eraser' is going on tour around several London landmarks this week. The character will be touring famous sites in the capital [link] at intervals throughout the week until the album is released on July 10. The places that light up in red are where the character will appear, which at the moment is Battersea Power Station. Fans are encouraged to upload photographs of themselves with The Eraser man through the website. Future locations where the 'Have you seen this man? 'character will appear are MI5, the Houses of Parliament, the BT Tower, Centre Point, St Pauls Cathedral, St Mary's Axe, Tower of London, Canary Wharf and lastly The Millennium Dome. Very creative, indeed.

Popworld caught up with Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme in a Q&A and asked why the band didn't release a World Cup song. "(Laughs) Erm, we do really like football, I just don't think we have the right sound that's suitable for a football song," he said. "We're not really the right band to come up with that kind of thing." Read more [link] . Thank God they did not do any WC song. Leave that to the Braxton-s, Shakira-s & IL Divo-s.

Paris Hilton is contemplating a move from her native America to London - because she loves people's accents in the British capital. She is currently visiting London, and said in a radio interview that she is thinking of escaping the attentions of the American press by relocating to the sprawling city. She gushed to Heart Fm's Jamie Theakston, "London is my favourite city in the world. I want to move there. I love the people, I love the accents." To be fair however, it would probably take several months/years to move her possessions across the Atlantic. She added to Theakston, "I love shoes. I have a lot of walk-in closets in the house." Beware, Frank Lampard and wife...

Paris Hilton was photographed arriving at London's Heathrow Airport on Friday (June 30) with a stockpile of suitcases after stops in France, Germany and Italy to promote her new single 'Stars Are Blind' [TMZ]. She earlier attended a press conference to celebrate the release of her debut single, 'The Stars are Blind' in Cologne, Germany on Tuesday (June 27). Pics - [Wenn] [Photshot]

The final nail? Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey could be legally separated next week after jointly petitioning court. The pair, who split after three years of marriage, requested a temporary judge by appointed by the Superior Court of California to oversee the termination of their union. All that will be left to sort out if the separation goes ahead is the division of their assests. Despite Jessy reportedly offering N.L $1.5 million in way of settlement, according to Californian law he is entitled to half of Jessica's earnings since their marriage - which are estimated at a whopping $40-50 million. Ho ho ho! That is worth more than the combo of a dozen Amazing Race, Survivor & Next Top Models winners. Just terminate the freakin' contract and end this 'public affair' that has been going on and on and on..

After recent news regarding the likes of Bjork and Dido currently in the studios working on new albums, a certain 'Corr' factor has chipped in as well. Later this year, Andrea Corr will release 'Present', her first solo album. Stylorouge have been commissioned to produce a promotional film to accompany the release of the album which will intersperse Andrea's observations on the making of the album with live performances of some of the key tracks, just on voice and piano. The album will be produced by Nellee Hooper, whose work includes classic tracks for Bjork, Soul ll Soul and countless chart-topping, dancefloor-filling remixes. With that melodious voice, I'm sure baby Corr will delight the ears of millions.

Pete Doherty has taken time out from his warts-and-all expose on Kate Moss to write about another blonde rock chick - little Peaches Geldof. In fact, he has sent a few of his infamous odes to the 17-year-old. In them, Pete apparently describes her poet soul and praises her spiritual nature. He also claims kinship with Sir Bob's daughter who shares his star sign. The pair, both Piscean but born ten years apart, are, according to the poet laureate of Hoxton, "fish out of water in a world made of metal, air and fire." So far, so very sixth form but then that should appeal to Peaches, who has just recently sat her A's levels. One source elaborates: "When she grabbed his bum at Live 8 Pete thought she was just a cheeky young girl but when they got chatting at a Babyshambles party they found common ground. They're the same star sign and quite similar. Neither one of them have thick skins. Pete thinks she's gorgeous but there's no romance so far. He's written some poetry about her because he thinks she's such a spiritual creature in a superficial world." Hmmm... Sir Bob is now keen to send his outspoken daughter to the famous Sorbonne university in Paris. Maybe he should. If not, hers will be 'La Bella Vita' no more..
