Pete Doherty visited his son, Estile, with lots of presents last Thursday (March 30) in London. He left the clothes store in such a hurry, he forgot to put one sock back on. This is just a father who came to see his son after being away for a while. The wild rock antics should presume again this week.

It features 12 incredible songs that highlight Laura's tremendous vocal ability and is as assorted as the people behind it. New single 'There Was A Time' [ win / real ] is out on May 1. Don't really know much about her but was quite impressed by this song. Good range of vocals and very soothing to the ears. Found out that she once covered Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know' [sample]. Has the potential to be the improved version of Katie Melua.

Pink, La Lohan, Scarlett.J and Bitchney are battling it out to see who will land the coveted role of Janis Joplin in a new biopic. Director Penelope Spheeris has already met with Pink, Lohan and Deschanel and still wants to speak with Johansson. The film, titled The Gospel According To Janis', will chronicle the life of the 1960s blues singer, who was known for her outrageous performances. Why audition those four when there is someone like Joss Stone who look the part and can actually sing like the legendary Janis? Oh well.. Pink looks the best bet if they want quality.

Lindsay Lohan won an award for "Favorite Actress" in Herpes: Fully Loaded at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards last Saturday. And she had a little slip..

Two actors are not too pleased with the internet world. Harrison Ford has revealed that he hates the internet because it means anyone is capable of spreading malicious rumours about him. "The worst thing about the internet is that anything and everything is up for grabs. How can that be, when I limit my public conversations to about once every couple of years? Any kind of rubbish goes on the internet and it can have a life of its own." This guy is just afraid of getting caught with whatever antics he's up to; unlike the good old days where news doesn't spread worldwide within hours and can sometimes get away with it. Meanwhile, George Clooney has called on stars to bombard a popular site with bogus celebrity sightings in an effort to render it useless. "Flood their website with bogus sightings. Get your clients to get 10 friends to text in fake sightings of any number of stars. A couple hundred conflicting sightings and this website is worthless." That might work.. but then, some pictures tell a lot of truth.

Jessica Simpson, currently filming 'Employee of the Month' in New Mexico, has been getting very close to co-star Dane Cook. The two were seen holding hands at a club, where Cook celebrated his birthday on March 18. Sources said: "They were sitting next to each other all night and were in their own world. They were holding hands, laughing and hugging. At one point, they snuggled up really close. It looked like they were trying to keep it tame in front of everybody." Jessy has been a fan of Cook's for years, and used to be a regular at his shows. So maybe her long-cherished wish has finally come true, eh? This is the same guy who kissed Charlize Theron's butt last year. Interestingly, Dane's gal of two years, Raquel Houghton is so concerned that she has flown to the set to be with her man. She is terrified he will leave her for Jessica. Costa Rica-born Raquel and Jessy are trying to avoid each other whenever possible. This incident sounds so "Saved By The Bell".

The Michael Hutchence Biopic is as of yet Untitled. Nick Egan is the Director. The departed INXS frontman and Egan were good pals, with Egan designing the INXS "X" album cover, directed videos for the band, as well as vids for Kylie, Oasis, Bon Jovi and Duran Duran. Should be a good production; getting to know more about his life.

Franz Ferdinand, Jane Birkin, Marianne Faithfull, Placebo, Portishead, Jarvis Cocker, Cat Power, Michael Stipe, The Kills, The Rakes... All took part in the singular album of which it is a question here. The bet was serious: to bring together artists resulting from the international scene to interpret English adaptations of the songs of Serge Gainsbourg. The casting and the various finally joined together versions exceed the hopes. This tribute album for the French icon Serge Gainsbourg sees some high profile artistes and bands recording an English version of his works. Even Jack White's beau made an appearance with Cat Power on "Je t'aime... moi non plus". Nice.

Eminem has filed divorce papers, less than three months after remarrying his high school sweetheart, Kim. The unhappy couple walked down the aisle again back in January, after originally undergoing divorce in 2001 following a poor two year marriage. His publicist Dennis Dennehy said, "I can confirm the divorce papers have been filed. Beyond that we have no comment." The papers state, "There has been a breakdown in the marriage relationship to the extent that the objects of matrimony have been destroyed and there remains no reasonable likelihood that the marriage can be preserved." Incredible that the joy was short lived. Not sure whether it's because he refused to remove the "Kim: Rot in Hell" tattoo. But Marshall got the upper hand from the pre-nup which means he gets to keep Hailey. Well, maybe third time's a charm?

Meanwhile his protege 50 cent will be involved in two upcoming movies. Together with Nicholas Cage, Fiddy have agreed to star in The Dance, a film telling the story of prison boxing coach Billy Roth. Cage will take the role of Roth and Fiddy will play an inmate in whom Roth sees potential, event thought he is serving a life sentence. He will also co-star in the dramatic movie "Home of the Brave", along with Samuel L Jackson, Jessica Biel and Christina Ricci. 50 Cent will star as a doctor. With regards to his new single, 'hee hee' MJ might shockingly collaborate with 50 for a new coming-back single. I know this world is going crazy... but never imagine it would go this way.

After months of speculations about Demi Moore's alleged pregnancy, hubby Ashton Kutcher has denied the reports. But there is a possibility that adoption may be an option. I guess it's kind of a 'fashion statement' nowadays for celebrity couples.. Kutcher said: "She's not pregnant. There was a rumour about a year ago, but it is not true. (A baby) could be in the plans. Everybody's adopting babies now; that's the new thing. I feel like just having one would be weird. It's unconventional to have a baby just now; you've got to adopt one from Cambodia or something." Hmmm.. tongue-in-cheek comment targeted towards anyone in particular?

Fingerprints from a crime scene are useless if the perpetrator's prints are not on file. But new forensic techniques now mean they can be used to determine whether a person is a smoker, uses drugs, and even which aftershave they wear - information that could help narrow down suspects. Fingerprints contain a mixture of skin cells, sweat secretions and substances picked up from elsewhere. Careful analysis can show whether a person may have handled drugs or explosives, but the new tools make it possible to determine a person's habits from the secretions in their prints as well. "We have found you can detect cotinine, made when someone metabolises nicotine, in fingerprints," says Sue Jickells, an analytical chemist at Kings College London. "This tells you if that person is a smoker, and this kind of additional information could be useful if you don't have a suspect." Jickells plans to collect prints from addicts at heroin and crack cocaine clinics to see if these drugs can be detected in fingerprints residue too. And she has shown that traces of cosmetics can be found left behind in prints. "In one sample we picked up some hair product that was eventually linked back to one of our students," she says.
