Julia Roberts insists she would never have made it in the industry today - because movie critics have become more scathing. The veteran star believes life is much harder for the likes of Lindsay and Keira because the modern day movie industry is much more cut-throat. Roberts says, "I think I came along at a kinder time in the business. It wasn't about fashion and there weren't so many media outlets. You could really cultivate your work a little more gently". She'd definitely be brushed aside competing with the current generation.

Jennifer Aniston has been staying at a haunted hotel while shooting her new film "Management" and she has been left terrified by supernatural goings on. A source said, "The Heathman Hotel is prone to eerie goings on, including broken glass, moving furniture, ghostly apparitions and loud screams. One guest who left his room clean returned to find towels and glasses had been used and moved. Jennifer is staying two floors above the haunted room." General manager Chris Erickson said, "There is no extra charge for ghost rooms. But we like to think of our spirits as a little bit friendlier and maybe just a little mischievous." Could ask for some supernatural help regarding her marital status..

Robbie Williams has quit his U.S. soccer team La Vale, after discovering he had been conned out of $400,000 by his "so-called friends" and teammates. The pop star set up La Vale in 2005 so that he could enjoy playing his favourite sport on a regular basis. But Robbie has now disbanded the team, after finding out two men had been using him for his generosity. The duo received over $400K to help fund their plans to set up a fashion label in New York - but blew the cash on partying instead. And Robbie lost his temper at the weekend (27-28 Oct), prompting him to kick the hangers-on out of his California mansion. Price to pay?

Kiefer Sutherland blames fans for his jail sentence for DUI and is refusing to sign anymore autographs. The actor will spend Christmas behind bars, following his arrest in Sept (07). Mr Bauer was snapped by camera-wielding fans as he stumbled from his car - pictures which appeared on the internet and could have been used as evidence in court. And he is fuming. Autograph collector Michael Wehrmann said, "He was one of the best autograph signers there was. He would always stand and sign for a half hour, but since his arrest, he's been telling collectors, 'I don't do that anymore. You guys screwed me.'" Yeah, thanks to those idiots for his predicament.

Remi Nicole has claimed that the tabloid press treats Amy Winehouse in an "evil" manner. The singer believes that Winehouse is the greatest artist of her generation and believes the media are hurting the star. Nicole told DS: "First of all, leave her alone. Second of all, if she's got a problem, why are you following her and making it worse. I think it's quite evil and making people think it's funny or cool." Nicole, who will be supporting Winehouse on her winter tour, commented: "At the end of day, Amy is the only one that lyrically, vocally, stands out of our generation."
