Struck Dumb

While it seemed like an interesting idea at the time, Courtney Love does not have a new job. This grunge queen reportedly told Us Weekly mag that she was contemplating joining the "American Idol" judge's line-up after the executive producer called her. Publicist Nigel Lythgoe denied the call ever took place and she won't replace the wrecked Abdul on the show. In a statement he said, "I did not call Courtney Love and am afraid someone may have misrepresented me. She is a very talented artist, but the judges will stay the same. We have no plans to add to or replace any of them." Love has yet to confirm or deny if her original quote was accurate. If she was to be a judge, all those who sang horribly will get the ultimate reaction - some rocker melons flashed upon them.

The countdown is fast coming to an end. Josh Holloway says he and Evangeline have become great friends through filming love scenes together. He insists his off-screen friendship with her has blossomed because of how close their characters have become. Josh told Britain's New mag, "Evangeline and I have such a great friendship now. And we trust each other so much as actors that we are able to actually live it. Our friendship has deepened. When you've got 80 people watching it can be daunting, but you get used to it." Josh has also revealed he gets on very well with Evangeline's fiance, Dominic, and says his wife Yessica is friends with Evangeline. With caution he added, "But I'm sure Sawyer's going to mess it up with Kate pretty quick! It's his nature." 16 more mystery episodes to go this season..

Poor thing! Amanda Bynes was one of the drivers involved in a multiple car collision in Beverly Hills on Jan 30th. Police quickly responded to the scene, but no injuries were reported. The crash brought rush hour traffic to a grinding halt. Witnesses claim Bynes kept her composure after the crash and calmly called for help on her cell. Bynes was spotted removing items from her 2005 BMW X5 while she waited for a tow truck to arrive. No police report was filed. Read more.. [Bynes-CarWreck]

He was first in love with her as a teenager and now he'll soon be the godfather of her child. Prince William is going to be a godfather to Emma's unborn baby. They first met after a Spice Girls concert in 1995, when the prince was just 13-years-old. Emma was told then that William had sexy pictures of her on his bedroom wall. Since their first introduction, the pair have kept in touch and the royal even texted in to vote for her on "Strictly Come Dancing". Looks like some royal baby love to be showered upon the little one.

Alex Kapranos had some cool high-profile pals at a party in New York to launch his book 'Sound Bites'. Alex welcomed guests to a reception in Tribeca. Interpol's Daniel and Paul, We Are Scientists' Keith and Chris and members of The Cribs all turned up. A brand new song by Franz is set to feature on an upcoming movie soundtrack. The track, 'Hallam Foe Dandelion Blow', will feature on the David Mackenzie directed film 'Hallam Foe'. The movie focuses on the life of a teenager called Hallam (Jamie Bell) who descends into a voyeuristic lifestyle. It opens in Feb next year.

Miss Lohan, who entered Wonderland rehab center on Jan 18 to treat her addiction issues, has been sending bachelor-about-town Brody Jenner sexy text messages for the last couple weeks. One particularly flirtatious text she sent last Saturday night in which the wild gal requested for "McDonald's and sex." When asked to comment on Lohan’s textual pursuit, Jenner said, "Sorry, dude. I don't text and tell." A supremely lame answer.

Josh Hartnett and KT Tunstall launch 'Global Cool' in London (30/01/2007)

T-X junior coming your way.. Kristanna Loken is ready to breed as the Terminator 3 star already has a sperm donor lined up. She says, "I would definitely like to have a family, and whether that's with a man or a woman doesn't really matter to me. I've already got my friend who's going to be the donor, so that’s taken care of. Just give me a few years and we’ll go from there." Wonder if the baby's other mummy will be a Rodriguez?

Kylie Minogue confirmed last night she has split from French actor Olivier Martinez, calling the seperation "mutual and amiccable". The unfaithful actor had been caught out two-timing with a number of other women, including Michelle Rodriguez. The couple's statement reads: "They remain very close friends. They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable." Unlucky-in-love Kylie and Olivier had been dating since 2003. Tough luck for our pop princess.

Harrison Ford is now playing the diva card. He has threatened to quit the new Indiana Jones movie, unless he gets to use a real whip. The actor was told the weapon would have to be computer generated because of new film safety rules and Harrison branded this rule as "ridiculous". A source said: "The idea was to take away the risk element the whip carries. Safety laws have changed since the last film and movie makers have to be much more careful. Now they use computer graphics for any dangerous stuff." The fourth movie is due for release next year. Not sure whether he can climb, run, fight like the 80s version. Might need a portable oxygen tank.

Meg Ryan and Matthew Perry have sparked rumours that they're dating after being spotted together on a couple of occasions. They were first spotted dining together at the Brentwood restaurant in Los Angeles over the holidays and a source told Us Weekly that Matthew arrived at Meg's home on Saturday night: "Meg had the gates open, just waiting for him." Matthew is believed to have broken up with previous girlfriend actress Lizzy Caplan last month." M&M connection to hold strong?

It's a hard job being Liz Hurley - she was in New York yesterday to help promote the Jordache Spring/Summer 2007 jeans collection at Macy's Herald Square and took some time out of her busy being surrounded by buff, topless men schedule [LizMen] to go jewellery shopping [LizShop] with her millionaire fiance Arun Nayar.

Russell Crowe is set to play the Sheriff of Nottingham in a new Robin Hood film. The movie, called Nottingham, will be a "revisionist" take on the age-old story. In a role reversal, it will portray the Sheriff as the good guy investigating a series of murders in which Robin is the suspect. Screenwriter Ethan Reiff said: "He's trying to do the right thing but he's up against Robin Hood, who's becoming heroic while not necessarily acting in the nicest way. Part of the strength of the script was the simple idea of doing Robin Hood by making the sheriff the good guy." It is expected to start filming at the end of the year. The last version was "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves", which was a hit for Kevin Costner in 1991. Along with that cheesy Bryan Adams song on the soundtrack.

Fran Healy has described the new Travis album 'The Boy With No Name', released on May 7, as "rocky" but with some "sweet and pop" moments too. He told Steve Lamacq on BBC6music: "This album has all the facets of us, and some new ones. It's rocky and then it's pop and sweet too. After a time of feeling stuck we feel we can do anything. We've gone back to what we do best, and that is what is from the heart, Dougie puts it best by saying it is 'guarded optimism'." The album will be preceded by the single 'Closer' on April 23. Two more months to go before love will come through.

*plastic people, plastic people..*

Not so good news for The Modern Age community. Don't expect a new Strokes album any time soon. While Albert Hammond Jr. is touring the globe with his solo album, he says the rest of the band are putting their feet up. Talking to Billboard regarding any new material lined up for The Strokes, he said: "I'd be lying if I told you. Everyone is just taking a big amount of time off." Le Sigh. Trying your luck next year perhaps.
