When It Started

Adam has compiled a list of 2006 bands to watch out for. I think it's worth reading.

Milburn are really fantastic. Just listen to Lipstick Lickin' and Cheshire Cat Smile.

Pete Doherty interview with BBC Newsnight. Hard to comprehend half of what he was talking about..

Babyshambles performed in concert at The Rythm Factory on Dec 23rd at The Rythm Factory in London, England. Check out pictures from FilmMagic and RexFeatures.

A new 'Albion' forum.

On the second episode, the girls were introduced to a huge boutique mansion which will be their home for the rest of the competition. Sarah stumbled twice during the catwalk(lack of confidence), Bre walked as if she's avoiding invisible mines, Jayla's catwalk was full of scratching the legs, shoulders, etc.... Jayla & Lisa did well during the superheroine flying with wire cables photoshoot. Most of them don't like Cassandra (maybe due to rich family background). Kyle is not model material in my opinion. Nicole is the sweetie pie of the bunch. When it came down to Sarah or Ashley of whom will be sent home, the judges got it right when they decided that Ashley is just a pretty face & not suitable to be a top model. So she got pissed off after getting the boot first. But Jayla is absolutely wow!!

Yeti
. I'm currently feeling their music. With more than a hint of the psychedelic easy-going jangle-rock of The Byrds, they write songs with style, imagination and a knack for blissful melodies in a way we haven't seen since The La's. Nothing like the heavy duty stuff of The Libs or BRMC, this one's in the same vibes as The Stands/Zutons/Thrills. Something your visiting aunts would jiggy about if they are ever caught listening.. Keep Pushing On is a very nice video to watch over n over again.

Two former Spice Girls were reunited since Geri left in 1998. She's obviously giving Geri some motherhood advice now that she's expecting. Give her the list of all the best baby designer stores and nannys, etc. An insider said: "Posh was thrilled when she heard Geri was expecting and wanted to spend some quality time with her. There have been a lot of rifts but they've been speaking regularly for the past 18 months." Mum-of-three Victoria treated Geri to cocktails - non-alcoholic we trust - and a trip to the Royal Opera House to see the ballet.

Most notable hookups of 2005...
- Rumor had it Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn were dating when they were seen having dinner in February. But things didn't heat up until they wrapped the movie they made this summer. Now they're supposedly together, but they haven't been spotted together in weeks. Hmm...

- Lindsay Lohan was reportedly hooking up with a few guys. Some of the names tossed around? Bruce Willis(!!!), Christian Slater(???) and Jared Leto is the most recent. At least he's slightly closer to her in age.

- Scarlett has quite the reputation. (Benicio Del Toro in the elevator?) Well this year, she fell for Josh Hartnett. And they make quite an attractive pair.

- Nicole Kidman was spotted on a date with Keith Urban back in July. They were seen riding a motorcycle together in rural Woodstock, New York, before enjoying lunch at natural foods restaurant Elijah's Cafe. Kidman is rumoured to be marrying country star Keith Urban this weekend. The actress reportedly wants to tie the knot before Tom weds his fiancee next summer.

2005 Celeb Weddings
- Sandra Bullock & Jesse James in California on July 16.

- Tiffani Thiessen & Brady Smith in an estate in Montecito, California on July 9.

- Donald Trump & Melania Knauss in Palm Beach on January 22. They're expecting their first child together in '06.

- Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner: It was a huge year for Bennifer II. Not only did Ben and Jen tie the knot on a Turks and Caicos beach on June 29, they welcomed their first child, a baby daughter named Violet, on December 1. And to think, prior to their wedding they hadn't even ever confirmed that they were dating.

- Ashton Kutcher & Demi Moore: Skeptics said that their May to December romance wouldn't last, but 27-year-old Ash and 42-year-old Demi got hitched on September 24. The couple gathered their closest friends for the top-secret, last-minute nups, which took place at their Beverly Hills home. Demi's daughters with second husband Bruce Willis, who was also in attendance, walked her down the aisle for the Kabbalah ceremony. Ahh!

- Christina Aguilera & Jordan Bratman: The songbird and music producer went all out for their wedding festivities, which took place over a span of five days in California's Napa Valley. The actual wedding ceremony was on November 19 and cost more than $1 million. What a girl wants... is what a girl gets.

80's retro games on the big screen? Independent studio Crystal Sky are planning a movie based on classic arcade game Pac-Man. According to the studio's official site a screenplay is in the final stages of preparation by Hal Haberman and Gil Kenan (Monster House), though no other details have yet been revealed. Also in development are adaptations of beat-'em-up Tekken and Castlevania, the latter being directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, the filmmaker responsible for Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil being brought to the big screen. Not too sure what ideas they have for the Pac-Man movie but Castlevania should be a nice one. Maybe the soundtrack would contain this humble song called Dracula's Lunch..

Noel Gallagher has revealed his frustration with the amount of time he has been forced to take off this holiday. According to him, the band were meant to be having all of January off, but he would rather complete brother Liam's latest offering "The Boy With The Blues". Noel says that although he wants to get the track finished, Liam is quite happy taking time off. He called the track "a bit like Spiritualized...driven by a piano and acoustic guitars." He added: "It's got a chant at the end. There's not much of a chorus to speak of which is why it didn't go on the album." The band are currently working on both an EP and a documentary about their Don't Believe The Truth world tour. They should try our local cuisines, especially the hindu times spicy food. Sure to leave them craving for more unknown South-East Asian 'digsy dinners'.

Noel is apparently ashamed to be British(????), because he thinks his countrymen publicly disgrace their nation when abroad. He has launched a scathing attack on holidaying Brits, accusing them being loud, brash and ignorant. He said: "OK, the British like to travel, but they don't have to carry a Union Jack with them. I'm embarrassed when I see Brits in Australia, they act so English. They have their tops off, wear flip-flops and shout at the top of their voices." And the guitarist said his brother Liam's short-wearing habit makes him one of the UK's worst perpetrators: "A man of his age, it's f**king out of order." LOL!! I reckon Noel might have seen something that was 'hung in a bad place'?

Memorable Quotes of 2005:
Borat - "Can I touch your shakira?"
Noel G on III Quid's stage outfit - "He looks like Zorro on doughnuts."
Album reviewer thoughts of Ashlee Simpson's cd cover - "I Am Me..and these are my boops."

Placebo have completed work on their 5th album which is produced by Dimitri Tikovoi and mixed by Flood. The album is still without a title but it will be released on March 13th and it will feature Alison 'VV' Mosshart from the Kills on a track. Nice! More bulletproof cupid tunes are always welcome.

Morrissey is set to release 'You Have Killed Me' scheduled for release at the beginning of March. It will be the first single from his forthcoming 'Ringleader Of The Tormentors'. The song is written by Morrissey and Jesse Tobias, and will be backed on various formats by 'Good Looking Man About Town,' 'Human Being' and 'I Knew I Was Next'. This charming man never fails to impress.

Dancing leads to nookie? You should be dancing (bee gees high-pitch voice)... I think it could just be that the vibrations created by loud music can lead to increased horniness in women and so greater chance of dance-related sex. Thats what my female pals tell me anyway. Fact or fiction?

Found back this great site that contains live sessions from the likes of Arcade Fire, Art Brut, Maximo Park, Editors, The Futureheads, Sons And Daughters. Good times.

Memorable song lyrics of 2005
** John was a scientist he was hooked on LSD
** I carry the madness, everywhere I go
** I'm probably gonna explo-oh-oh-oh-ode
** You took a white orchid and turn it blue
** I need a ooh-la-la-la..la
** Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984
** In this industry of fools.. musclemen and ghouls
** Walk home, come down, retreat to sleep!
** My little brother just discovered rock & roll
** Oh my god i can't believe it.. I've never been this far away from home
** Ello ello ello ello vee eee!
** Is she more beautiful..is she more beautiful than me?
** I ricoched.. around the world.. drinking-pink-champagne.. it's easy!
** All is wonderful in past lives.. Dreaming of the sun she warms
** About the seeds of the weeds.. That grew in your heart
** Don't look at me that way.. It was an honest mistake
** You're just my good time; you're just my goo-oh-ood time
** It's the first day.. of the rest of your life
** Destroy everything you touch today.. destroy me this way
** Na-na-na-naaaa-don't..
** Bing bing!
** Hey scenesters, hey hey scenesters!
** The voodoo, who-do-what-you-don't-dare-to-people
