Charlotte Church has insisted that giving up alcohol during her pregnancy has been easy. The singer does not miss the way alcohol turned her into a "nasty" and "aggressive" person, and claimed that she does not like the taste of booze. "I actually don't like the taste of alcohol. I like the effect of being p***ed, so to give it up wasn't hard because I'm not one of those people who has a glass of wine every night," Charlotte told Cosmo. "It's also made me realise what a bad drunk I was. I would get nasty, aggressive and jealous." Her first child is due this month.
George Clooney is reminded by his fans that his trademark good looks won't last forever. And he doesn't know how to react to being voted one of the world's sexiest men. Clooney says, "There is no way I can respond to those awards without sounding like a jackass. Saying 'Yes, I am a sex symbol', make me sound like a conceited idiot. Best way to live with it is just say thank you and realise it is not going to last. Nothing ever does. All those things are going to disappear one day and fans will talk about me like how much older I look in person or have all this grey hair." At least he is aware of that.

Amy Winehouse is proving she has recovered by heading back to the studio and announcing plans for a new album. She said: "I'm sorted out. Nothing's wrong with me. A lot of fuss has been made about nothing. I'm writing some new stuff and can't wait to be back on tour. I would like to have children one day but I'm concentrating on work just now." Pete Doherty has reportedly presented Amy a self-written song on her 24th birthday. The song, titled "Amy On The Mend," was sent to her in a special frame and signed "Love, Pete." Birds of a feather taking care of one another?

Terry O'Quinn won the Emmy for best supporting actor in a drama. "You know, sometimes, when we're rolling around in the jungle and the mud and we're hitting each other and stabbing each other and shooting each other and pouring on the blood and turning on the sprinklers, I wonder what it would be like to bake up a sheet of cookies on Wisteria Lane -- and get one of their checks," O'Quinn joked. "But then I think of my cast mates and crew-mates ... and I realize why I have the best job in the world," he said. Brilliant speech Mr Lo... Mr O'Quinn.
Jaime Pressly nabbed the award for best supporting actress in a comedy. Pressly won the prize for her portrayal of trash-talking, trailer-park dweller Joy on the NBC comedy, "My Name Is Earl." In accepting the award, the actress was visibly moved and thanked her "wonderful fiance, Eric (Calvo,) for all that support and for that amazing little boy, Dezi James, who is waiting for us ... the best thing that ever happened to me." Yay for Joy. About time.

Ian Brown has attacked the carelessness and naivety of countries and companies who are failing to take the matter of global warming seriously. He said: "America won't accept that there is global warming. It's not good enough. We can't all perish because of their blindness. We need to ban all air freighted food. Carrots from Holland. Potatoes from Egypt. It's got to stop. Lamb from NZ. Let's get lambs grazing on the roof of the Pentagon or on the lawn of Buckingham Palace." He continued: "We should be growing carrots up the side of the Empire State Building or Big Ben." Strong words from King Monkey.
