Robbie Williams is reportedly in talks to star in the new 'Star Trek' movie. The singer is being lined-up to play Captain James T Kirk, the part made famous by William Shatner. Robbie is having final discussions with J.J. Abrams and has already impressed him. Abrams said: "I think he'd be a good Captain Kirk. The Kirk in my movie is quite young, it's like the early years." Although the role of Captain Kirk is still up for grabs, the part of Spock has already been decided. Leonard Nimoy is to reprise his role as the Vulcan space traveler. The film is due out in December 2008.





Nicole Richie was sentenced to 90 hours in jail and fined $2,048 by a California judge last Friday. She pleaded guilty to charges of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The Superior Court Commissioner, Steven K. Lubell, also ordered the actress three years probation and 21 days in an alcohol education course. Richie would be required to complete the course by Feb. 20, 2008. A violation of the probation would mean she would go to jail for a year, Lubell said. Richie was arrested last December after motorists spotted her vehicle going the wrong way on a freeway in Burbank and alerted the authorities.

Jennifer Aniston has split from her British boyfriend. She reportedly called time on Paul Sculfor's fledgling romance because their hectic careers are driving them apart. They have not seen each other for weeks since the catwalk hunk came back to the UK for a photo shoot. A source close to Jennifer said: "There was chemistry between them but Jennifer wants to settle down with a reliable man and start a family. Paul travels a lot and is constantly surrounded by beautiful women. They remain friends, but are just in different places." The Brit has dated a string of famous beauties like Lady Victoria Hervey, Lisa Snowdon and Shaznay Lewis.

KT Tunstall has admitted that she hates having to attend celebrity events for publicity purposes. The Suddenly I See singer realised that she would much rather just "get on a bus and do gigs" after a bad experience at the Grammy Awards earlier this year. "I went to The Grammys, f***ing six in the morning! I was put in a photo line-up with Mary J. Blige," KT is quoted as saying. "I just thought: 'This is stupid.'" She's right.





Girls Aloud have become the subject of a sick story posted for download on a website. An anonymous author wrote the graphic tale, called Girls (Scream) Aloud, which sees the band kidnapped, tortured and worse. He apparently describes the deaths of each singer and tells how their remains are sold on internet auction website eBay. It purports to be "the very sexy deaths of all five members of the world's sexiest all-girl group" and warns: "I can not stress enough that this is strictly fictitious." A spokesman for the band said they were not letting it bother them whereas The Internet Watch Foundation said it was aware of the site but added: "Because it is hosted in the US, it falls outside our remit, but we are aware of this site. We have passed on intelligence reports of the site on to British police for information."

Rachel Bilson is wary of ever agreeing to a blind date again, after one suitor took her to watch homeless people. The 25-year-old, who once dated Adam Brody, was taken aback by the surprise destination. She says, "One guy took me to Skid Row in downtown L.A. to see the homeless people. And, you know, in a way, I thought it was cool to experience it, but it was a little random for a first date." It is rumoured that she is now dating Hayden Christensen. Lucky boy.











Kate Middleton is hoping to be among the first all-female crew to row across the English channel in a Chinese dragon boat. She is currently training with a group of female amateur rowers bidding to reach the French shores in the unusual vessel. Former school friend Alicia Fox-Pitt says: "She is a very gifted sportswoman and we played a lot of sport together at school." Fellow crew member Emma Sayle adds, "Kate's perfect material for our team. She's the kind of girl who can take part in a triathlon, get covered in mud and an hour later emerge in a ball dress looking flawless." The charity race, against a rival male team, is scheduled to take place later this year.

A source tells The People, "They've pencilled in a release date for later this year but will move it depending on what the girls do. 50 Cent has launched a lawsuit against an internet advertising company for one million dollars, claiming it illegally used his image in a game where the player pretends to shoot him. "Shoot the Rapper" shows 50 Cent walking back and forth in an ad across the top of a web page while the viewer is encouraged to shoot him by aiming and clicking with the mouse, court papers say. This coming from someone who made a film of his life called Get Rich Or Die Tryin'..

Mark Ronson has revealed that he's been offered the chance to produce Bob Dylan - but insists that Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen are his top priorities. The producer says that he's been approached by several high profile artists, including Dylan, Mani and Paul Weller who all want to work with him in some form. He said: "I'm getting lots of people coming forward and saying they like what I do, which is mind-blowing - especially when it's Dylan and Weller. Mani from The Stone Roses came up to me and said I should cover one of their tracks. I was blown away as they're one of my favourite bands of all time." But Ronson, concedes that he only has eyes for two special ladies saying: "Amy and Lily are my priority. As long as they want to work with me, I'll do something with them." Preferring to look into the future?

Kate Moss has gone a step further to make sure that Pete stays out of her life. The supermodel has changed all her mobile and landline phone numbers to prevent him from getting in touch under any circumstances. "Pete was still phoning up last weekend and it was too much even for Kate. She thought she had made things clear - that he should never get in touch with her again." the Mirror quoted a source. Close friends are said to be relieved it is finally over. "Kate is determined to wipe the slate clean and that means never speaking to him again," the source said. Just another temporary setback?

The pair were seen shopping at baby boutique Petit Tresor in Brentwood, Los Angeles on Thursday with an onlooker telling OK! mag: "They were arm in arm. They were acting like a married couple while shopping for various baby-related items like cribs and changing tables. She also was asking the sales staff about delivery options." The couple left the store with just a $195 cashmere teddy bear. Probably just a gift for one of her buddies' kid.

Nicole Kidman saved Hugh Jackman from a poisonous scorpion on the set of their new movie 'Australia'. In one scene Nicole joins Hugh in a sleeping bag under the stars. However, as the actress was about to join Hugh in the bag, she noticed he already had a far more dangerous sleeping companion. An on-set source told the National Enquirer: "Nicole gasped when Hugh opened the cover invitingly to reveal a poisonous scorpion creeping up his leg. She calmly told him not to move and squatted down, scooped the arachnid into her hat and walked over to the woods and released it." Nicole later said she would never kill an animal because "every creature here has its purpose.. and this one just didn't belong in Hugh's bag!'" Such a heroine.

New Young Pony Club star Tahita Bulmer has dismissed reports that she came close to injuring Lily Allen at Glastonbury. The singer, whose debut album Fantastic Playroom has been shortlisted for this year's Nationwide Mercury Prize, was accused of hitting Allen with her microphone during a performance at the Somerset pop festival. However, she refuted the rumours, saying: "The stage was about as big as a desk and I was onstage. I lifted my microphone and just twirled it round. It didn't really hit anyone. Lindsay Lohan has promised fans her first movie sex scene won't be too gratuitous - she keeps her bra on. Lohan admits her mother Dina was horrified when she realised the actress would be simulating intercourse in the murder thriller I Know Who Killed Me. She says: "Did I go naked for it? Orlando Bloom has made his West End debut after deciding he was tired of being typecast as a pirate. The actor is part of an ensemble cast in a revival of the David Storey play In Celebration. He had to master a Yorkshire accent to play Steven, a failed writer haunted by guilt after leaving behind his Northern roots. The play opened at the Duke of York's Theatre in London to mixed reviews. The Daily Mail said the actor "showed fine sensitivity with his part" but the Daily Express called his performance "disappointing". Not all that bad for a first timer. Can't say the same about that moustache..

Despite their denials, insiders are still insisting that Hugh Grant and Jemima Khan have secretly become engaged. A source insisted that they were very much back on. "Hugh has proposed. One of the reasons they have not made the announcement is because Jemima's mother, Lady Annabel, has told her daughter not to rush into anything." They enjoyed a clandestine dinner at The Ritz hotel in Paris last month and were together again last weekend, sharing an al fresco lunch at a fish restaurant on the Embankment in London. The heiress was also spotted being dropped off outside her Chelsea home by him. Good for them if it's true.





Kylie Minogue might be reunited with Olivier Martinez, after the couple were spotted dining in the Paris. They broke up in February this year after Martinez was linked to Michelle Rodriguez and Israeli model Sarai Givati. But now the Sydney Daily Telegraph claims Minogue has enjoyed at least two "romantic rendezvous" with her ex in Paris in recent weeks. She was visiting the French capital for a routine hospital check-up, when she was spotted "kissing and embracing Martinez outside a cafe" close to where he lives. Her spokesman says that although the couple is not back together, "They do see each other." Not bad at all.

Jaime Pressly has blasted TV sitcom Ugly Betty because she fears the show sends out the wrong message about plastic surgery. She insists the show was full of confusing double standards about fashion and appearance. Pressly explains, "They're purposefully big-upping the ugly fat girl to make everybody feel great, but it also glamorises the fact that people are getting plastic surgery because they can. It's really bizarre." The actress admits she turned off months ago: "It bores the hell out of me." Yeah. Can't argue with Joy.




Kate Hudson is said to be dating 'Employee of the Month' star Dax Shepard. The couple was seen leaving Malibu restaurant Nobu on Saturday night hand-in-hand after enjoying a meal there. He has chosen Birkhall, where they have spent many of their happiest weekends together, as the perfect place to show how serious he is. It makes her feel like a proper princess when she stays there where she first met the Queen. That will be his first step in repairing the damage he caused to her pride when he dumped her so publicly."
