Seductress Of Burns

Booker T is fine with a triple threat match, but JBL's not down with it - "I don't even know what down means."

The Tears album sampler here.
The Raveonettes album sampler here.

Me favourite songs from The Tears are - CO-STAR, Lovers, The Ghost Of You & Apollo 13.
The Raveonettes 'Love In A Trashcan' is their new single.

Pretty In Black album is like shopping in a vintage store: full of great looking items that you want to pick up and handle and that you can get excited and wistful about; you want to buy something and get it home. I think they are heavily influenced by '50s rock & roll, with excellent Chuck Berry-inspired guitar tones and solos, moody surf meandering classic '50s film-worthy heartbreak moments. Lovely.

Liverpudlian band - Echo and the Bunnymen
But while the Beatles have gone their separate ways, Ian McCulloch and company are nine albums into their career and still going strong. Their latest masterpiece, a new album entitled "Siberia", is a work spanning roughly 26 years of music that has influenced the likes of Coldplay, The Verve, and Interpol. The release date for Siberia is late Sept. I like this band a lot. Didn't know they are still around.

In a music scene swamped with imitators of the trademark Gang of Four sound, the original lineup came together to record a new album for the first time in over 20 years. The result is "Return The Gift", due out Oct 11
How come these uncles want to come back again? Maybe they can't stand the new generation ripping their sounds and wants to show the world who the real daddies are.

Editors - The Back Room
Sources indicate that Interpol, Joy Division and Echo & The Bunnymen influences that can be heard in this album. The Back Room is characterised by thick, prominent basslines, insistent drums, twinkling guitar and a baritone voice. The four-piece set out as a band in 2003, looking to combine the rock 'n' roll edge of The Strokes and the delicate beauty Elbow. Barely two years later, they have created one of the finest debut records of the year. Is that so? Hmm...let me jump into the 'I heard it first' queue then.

Scouse four-piece The Stands eagerly released their debut album, All Years Leaving. It was greeted with indifference, and ultimately criticised for sounding derivative, and lacking variation in mood and setting of the music. However, The Stands made sure they wedged their foot in the door before it slammed in their face, and won over the likes of Noel G, The Zutons and fellow Liverpudlians, The Coral. So with the release of their second album, Horse Fabulous, The Stands are looking to sway the polarised views of the people, in search of the recognition they perhaps feel they deserve. Hugely underrated band. It's a shame that few heard of them.

Crazy Frog - "Presents Crazy Hits" album. For those of you who haven't been living on a desert island free from any interaction with the human race you won't know a thing about the Crazy Frog. A computer generated thing that doesn't look much like a frog at all has been invading our lives. Approximately every other hour, this little animation dances around our screens with his nether regions sometimes blacked out. Bing-bing!

Indie's favorite Bohemians, The Dandy Warhols are back in the limelight with the impending release of their fifth album Odditorium or Warlords of Mars, which will be released on September 13.

Kazayuki Toda is a good, quality footballer.

Haven't been listening to Techno(the Ah-Beng type) for some donkey weeks. Wonder what are the new good songs...

What if you mix Franz & Kidz-Bob together?...You get this.
